2.
Does that really make you uncomfortable?
No, let me explain myself better, it's the potential 'difficulties' you'd experience if you announced a MOWO. Not on racial grounds, but from the impression I get that all popular music stems from a drum being banged in darkest Africa.
3. Have Ibanez or anyone else had any level of success with these designs?
4. I don't think there's anything for 'us' (I'm 58 next month) to worry about. People of my age are always going to want to hear our stuff in pubs. Of course a young whippersnapper can learn Alright Now and Brown Sugar but he/she doesn't need to - they can just keep playing Sex on Fire 'til they're in their fifties
5. Just realised I've seen them - they were on the Knebworth bill in '79. Back on topic, can't stand 'em but you can't deny their talent - and Dave's singing over those tricky bass lines too.
6. I've always been slightly uncomfortable about the MOBO awards. Is there a MOWO awards?
7. As a Bluetooth novice I could trawl the internet forever... or just ask someone on BC who'll instantly have the answer. I'm looking to connect a synth module via Bluetooth to my lappy. The laptop's Bluetooth capable and is usually connected via USB B (synth)/USB A (laptop). So I think I'm looking for some kind of receiver at the synth end? 8.
Thought Gregory Porter was the highlight for me but afraid the Big Band Arrangements rather sanitised his approach, came across very MOR.

Thought Gregory Porter was the highlight for me but afraid the Big Band Arrangements rather sanitised his approach, came across very MOR.
Hootenanny Rules: 1. Lots of boogy woogie piano. 2. Lots of Big Band.
9. You can either slap or have bass; you can't have both
10. Coming home from a NYE bash when Scary Monsters came around. Absorbing the lyrics I realised how he totally nailed the late '70's/early '80's mood on that album.
11. Zone basses started out as the Precision Lyte. Had a 3-band P/J years ago and it sounded ace.
12. The giant leap was the Precision. Anything after that is baby steps.
13.

TV Gold!
14.
Hello! Returning to bass playing after many years. I played in a function band back in my Uni days in the early 90's and I've been on smaller fretted instruments since then. Decided it was time to get back into Bass to try something different for gigging. I'm pretty sure the Bass I had back in the 90's was a Peavey.. but it was borrowed from a friend at the time and I can't remember which one it was...! However, decided to get a Bass that I've always wanted so picked up an EBMM Stingray 4 3EQ in Natural w/Maple Neck. Yum. Loving it and glad to be back!
Beautifully simple. Nice.
15. I've got one of those new-fangled electric guitars that I plug into the wall.
16. Roxy Music, Jealous Guy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=twNWyyRWTEU
17. The thing with Spector is they have superb quality control regardless of where they're built. Those Korean NS2000's really are top notch. I bought mine in '99 from the Bass Centre for a smidge under £800 which is an indicator of the quality they were putting into a Korean model.
18.
My theory as to why 3-pickup basses have never been particularly successful: The extreme pickup positions (right next to the bridge and neck) rarely sound that great; one is honky and thin, the other flubby and over-fat. If you restrict pickup placement to the zone that does sound good, then that limits you to one or too pickups.
Like one of the most successful and great sounding basses ever, the Rick?
19.
I thought 'Hootenanny' was an olde english word meaning boogie woogie backup on everything - probably even over a bit of John Cooper Clarke doggerel
While we're on definitions: Joolzolland: an artist who's talent falls far short of the esteem in which the public and major broadcasters hold him.
20.
An annual pre-recorded New Year's Eve musical TV programme, incessantly featuring Gregory Porter and Ruby Turner, with the odd bit of Jools Holland talking crap.
You forgot Roland Rivron.
