1. Considering they're built in Europe and the Far East as well as HQ it's a hugely positive reflection on the company that the quality control and after sales service is superb.
 2.
Not wanting to go there. For me its not either or, I am a big fan of both CD and Vinyl, they both have their place. My comment relates to my experience of listening to both formats regarding 'Made in Japan'
Fair enough, point taken.
 3.
To my ears, the vinyl pressing in comparison (provided it is played on a decent turntable) is on another level IMO.
See vinyl v digital threads ad nuaseum...
 4.
Listened to Deep Purples 'Made in Japan' on vinyl today on a reasonably good hi fi system and the sound was stellar. Apparently this is a totally live effort by Blackmore and Co., simply terrific album, though the CD equivalent does not cut it sonically IMO. Reckon many these older anologue recordings, for whatever reason just dont transfer well onto digital formats IME.
My recent (CD) copy of MIJ sounds awesome - especially the bass.
 5.
"The Slider" by T Rex. "Electric Warrior" tends to be the more recognised album but I think that "The Slider" was a further development of their sound and more sophistication to the songs.
Haven't listened to The Slider lately but Electric Warrior hasn't stood the test of time.
 6. Oh ok, I wasn't familiar with them but now you've cleared it up.
 7. https://www.gumtree.com/p/guitar-instrument/harley-benton-5-string-bass-guitar-with-soft-kisman-case/1132669653 Any good?
 8. I agree that the tone's awful but the experience is great.
 9.
This is a sketch of the bass that Peter Boer (Peterbuilt) is building for me at the moment. I hope it will be ready around the end of the year. It will have two DiMarzio Model Ps and a DiMarzio Will Power humbucker near the neck. It was inspired by my Yamaha Attitude; I wanted an extra P pickup because I love the sound of twin Ps.
That's a bloody lovely design. You haven't broken the three colour rule, the black hardware is awesome and 'blending' the humbucker into the scratchplate makes it look less fussy. When you get it post some vids cos I'd love to hear what it sounds like.

 11. Sorry guys, I couldn't resist
 12.
A few more of my BC Rich Eagle, since it made an appearance in the other thread: Showing the neckthrough... it's stained back, with the grain just visible if you try.
Pretty bass. I recall Larry Klein having a few of them on Joni Mitchell's '83 tour.
 13. A buddy uses something like this and it sounds awesome. Useful if you only want to lug half an 8x10 at a time?
 14.
Hiya Roland rock , just a smidgen on the strings little sharper so not really a tone
WHAT!
 15. What's 'tuning by ear?' AND this bloody flats GAS ain't gonna go away if you lot keep on about it!
 16.
Unfortunately. For those who missed out on this and other similar incidents, it goes like this: things were said; offence was taken; departure ensued. The details are not worth repeating, as it doesn't matter, the result stands. To quote some other threads, you had to be there.
Come on, give us a clue about the offending subject? Was it EMG's on Jazz basses?
 17.
Stevie DiStanislao is a mint drummer. Not sure about having a lone gadgie on BV's, mind. That's a bit odd. Anyway, I'm sure it'll be great. (Unlike the new album, which sounds like it isn't).
All of 'em sing a bit anyway.

 19. World Machine - Level 42. Often dismissed as '80's XR3i cassette player disposable pop. Not so; excellent songs well played by brilliant musicians.
 20.
Joe Strummer and the Mescelaros - Streetcore. Wings - Wings at the Speed of Sound. George Harrison - Dark Horse. シオン - 夜しか泳がない and many other classic albums that come from a non-Western countries.
Wings at the Speed of Sound - one hell of a follow up to the two previous excellent albums.
 21.
All done and sounding amazing. Very happy indeed!
That's a nice looking bass.
 22. A point for (Chapman) Stick. Not in Magnussen's day!
 23.
Basses that don't balance. Headstock heavy basses should never be allowed out of the factory.
The Warwick Thumb, especially 5+ strings, even small tuners leaning back towards the body couldn't save it.
