1. Elbow; how anyone can't see through their calculated and manufactured output is beyond me.
 2.
I find anything by Deep Purple extremely naff. Most of it sounds - to me anyway - like it was written by a school teacher for a 'with it' Yr6 school musical, or maybe by a leader at a council yoof club.
Bit harsh.
 3. MB Big Bang. Item as described - mint! Delivered quickly and considerately.
 4.
Poorest by far and sad to say was Paul Weller, really boring, terrible sound oh well..
He's gone grown up with his hair though!
 5.
Uncle Dennis has a book out soon. Very much looking forward to this. DD was one of my biggest formative influences & I still love his playing. The original Alice Cooper group was utterly unique. Jon.
That's the word - unique!
 6. Look on the bright side, it's all pre-reliced.
 7.
From the pictures, I can only assume his belt buckle is a nail gun.
8. Nice vid. Looks like another of rock's nice guys.
 9. There I was whiling away my early teens with those rather well behaved glam rock types when School's Out disintegrated my radio! Then they were on TOTP and I thought THANK YOU AMERICA! Alice Cooper with that skinny guy who'd stuck shiny stuff all over his bass, in colour was the coolest thing a thirteen-year-old Brummie had ever seen. Birmingham was still in black and white in 1972.
 10.
Yesterday I ordered some control knobs from eBay, then realised I wouldn't need them - so cancelled the order. eBay seller was cool and refunded my payment to PayPal. But it's not available to me - PayPal have placed a 'temporary hold' on the refund and are 'reviewing the situation'. That is all the information available to me. It's not a great deal of money and isn't particularly inconvenient - but how many thousands of other buyers are experiencing the same thing and how much interest are PayPal making out of this blatant crap? A 'real' bank would never put a hold on cash paid into an account - it's always immediately available. What a load of rubbish! Seems like PayPal are total arses to everyone, buyers AND sellers!
I've just fallen foul of their refund scam - £380 on temporary hold. Irritating thing is I could have done it bank transfer to a perfectly trustworthy BCer, which will be my preferred method in future.
 11. I went to a Q&A with Steve Hackett recently and I have to say it was great just to sit and listen to the guy so I get the intimate thing. Saw Frank at an It Bites convention in '89 (only one from the band who turned up). I think the band were starting to disintegrate and he wasn't his seemingly ebullient self.
 12.
Have I mentioned Gwen Stefani? She MUST be lashed!!
A Gwen lashing or a singer lashing?
 13. Hi all, Anyone running a Minitaur or similar from a tablet? I currently use a laptop but its a bit bulky for gigging.
 14. Bump - come on people, don't make me chuck this?
 15.
The singer relies (totally) on a tablet at gigs..
Bloody technology!
 16. ...and another thing; who'd be the obvious candidate for buying and humping the PA? Never the singer apparently. (transport's usually optional too).
 17. Haven't used it for years but it powers up fine. No joy on eBay but seems a shame to just chuck it.
 18. Audience + alcohol = 'Calling All The Heroes, Frank, do Calling All The Heroes!'
 19. Maybe Geddy's has some coaching with his voice and maybe the re-phrasing is something to do with going easy on it. As someone said earlier though he's not really struggling with the high(ish) notes?
 20.
Sure is - but 4080s have always felt a bit top-heavy for me. Stick the bass on the bottom like a Shergold or Mike Rutherford's customer Rickenbacker 360/12-4001 cut&shut model. (I'm sure Geddy will see the error of his ways on reading this and switch immediately)
21. I've always found that crap singers get short shrift. I must say that Rush oughta play back some of their 2015 tour...
 22.
The whole show has just popped up on YouTube, and - IMO - Geddy's voice renders it unlistenable. He just can't do it any more, which is a real shame.
I listened to some of it too - Geddy's defo got a bit of paulmccartneyitis.
 23.
Now this is interesting, if you're a spotter like me: It's one of 3 things - a Rickenbacker one-off, a Rickenbacker Geddy Lee Sig prototype, or (shock, horror!) a COPY!!! Proper Rick tailpiece (as never before seen on a bass played by Geddy), full-width inlays, wavy Grovers, gold scratchplates, looks like bolt-on or set necks - & I bet it's got checked binding. Proper early 70s tribute, that is. This, more than anything else, makes me a little sad they ain't coming over here. Jon.
That's really easy on the eye.
 24.
Ok guys never got into Rush but read Neal Pearts autobiographical "Ghostrider" and was blown away. Any recommendations for dipping ones toe into the Rush catalogue?
The live Exit, Stage Left is a good start for their seventies output.
