1. I believe this is a Dick Knight 12/6-string bass which apparently Rutherford couldn't get on with.
 2. I watched the wonderful James Taylor (last week).
 3.
I'm sure I saw them somewhere too (maybe on TV) but seem to remember Sketch playing a Steinberger?
He did a TOTP's with one of those aluminium necked thingys with the split headstock.
 4.
I don't, though I do in part. If you played through Larry Graham's rig, you'd sound like you playing through Larry Graham's rig. It's not gonna sound anything like what you do playing through your own rig (unless you so happen to have the same rig, strings & EQ settings), but it would still be your style of playing that comes through. When I switched from round wound to flat wound strings, the sound was very different. The playing style is still very much me.
I agree.
 5.
One of the classic tones only a Ric can do....IMO but other tones that are credited as Ric sounds were actually from a Jazz... I think work by Squires, Glover and Hughes using both basses are well documented..
I assumed for years that Parallels was a Rick and then learned it was a Jazz.
 6.
Are we sure that's an actual Rickenbacker and not a John Birch copy?
The headstocks look different?
 7.
Call me old fashioned but I'd much rather listen to a bassist and guitarist working together than someone trying to do both.
+2. Gimmicky.
 8. Cracking album with the bass out front. Peter 'Sketch' Martin and Nathan Watts on one track.
 9. Hi Mark, All the connectors on the back of the cab are internally connected together, so you have a choice of inputs to use.. The speakers are connected in parallel internally so you get a 4 ohm cab.. Regards, Guy Morel Service Engineer Ashdown Design and Marketing Ltd Had this reply today.
 10.
Shows the decline of media reporting online. I'd laughed at the Telegraph article, that they felt the need to interview the owner of a guitar shop, to validate if this was dangerous, plus stating 'you need 2 hands to play a guitar'. Then the Mirror article has exactly the same tin pot interviews! Crappy stories re-sold and recycled everywhere, clickbait junk that wouldn't make a print product.
By these standards I'm surprised the BBC didn't run it.
 11.
For someone who thinks outside of the normal run of things. Check this guy out -
Wanted: Guitarist and Bassist, preferably the same person.
 12.
I died a bit inside when I saw Dakota on the set list of the band I've recently joined, this must be the 3rd or 4th act in a row I've had to do it with. I'll be voting for it to get quietly dropped once we've done a few gigs and can start expanding the set list.
I die a bit inside with this one too. Then when I hear that the guitarist hasn't even bothered to get the right effect on the intro I come back to life and die again.
 13.
Typical lame Warwick shenanigans. Spector players use powerful motorcycles.
PMSL.
 14. Chuckling apart, where the hell did he get that low string and would it be tuned to a key only grinding tectonic plates could compete with?
 15.
Many of his old B-sides pee all over other people's A-sides!
This.
 16. In the car today with the better half and 'You're The One That I Want' from Grease came on. I've always loved the bass on that and looking up the soundtrack I see that among other bass players he's credited for the album.
 17.
absolutely fantastic mix, of a record i have always loved. its a very subtle mix. but its 12 inches of pop funk magic also
Still one of my favourite albums and a great nod to one of his heros; James Brown. Some great bass work on it too from Cass Lewis amongst others.
 18. Ok thanks guys, stop now, I dipped my 11+ as a kid and my brain hurts I'll have the bugger to bits sometime though!
 19.
If you want to get a handle on playing behind the beat play with a drummer that rushes all the time or speeds up when they do a fill - there's quite a few of the ***** about!
20.
Was it the Junction by any chance?
Kitty's. Did the Junction take the mick as well?
 21. Four string set, they look like 100/105 gauge. Roundwound with coloured ball ends like d'addario. Came with a Euro LX so they've already been wound to 2+2 lengths. Hardly used before I changed them.
 22. Nice one. I used to play a gig in Plymouth where we were payed a percentage of the bar takings, which mysteriously always worked out to £150?
 23.
One pair of cables for each speaker. They're wired in parallel at the socket end, presumably to make manufacture a bit quicker and easier.
That's interesting? (and confusing).
 24.
https://www.youtube....e&v=kh1geYG2V6Y That's got it!!
Impressive! (I missed the howler)?
