1. Spinal Tap... 'yeah the black on this one goes up to 11...'
2. For anyone who missed it first time it's being repeated. 100 minutes of toe-tapping goodliness featuring Lee Pomeroy.
3. Interesting point about Jagger's tax arrangements; happy to reside abroad for tax breaks but happy to take your ticket money when he's here. But they're all the same, I shouldn't single him out.
4. http://www.pieandvinyl.co.uk/events/steve-hackett-ex-genesis-signing-and-qa-session-at-pievinyl/ Anyone else think this guy's great? I do.
5. They should put The Stones in a museum so that everyone who's interested could see them for a few quid - the British museum in with the dinosaurs, except for Daryl Jones who could be in the '80's section. Enjoy.

10. I'll get in trouble if I use the proper link so if you're interested search on that auction site.

12. Looking up Carmine Rojas and found this. Rehearsals for the Glass Spider tour I guess.
13. Well said sammybee, if it wasn't good enough then etc.
14. I've just picked up on this thread and I haven't laughed as much in ages. Thanks.
15. There were loads of bass players in bands in the 90's with this 'oh really, is it a Fender I'm holding in front of this Ampeg stack' attitude. It was all about image and their bass techs were probably working their asses off. Noel Gallagher once said the Oasis bass player turned up with a 5-string and he told him to get rid of it. Listen to the first album and there's a detune on 'Up In The Sky'. Regardless, I like Alex's stuff and he seems a decent guy.
16. Burn is Purple's 2nd best studio album after Machine Head - no argument! For one album only the Coverdale/Hughes line up was magic. And I agree with the guitar sound (or any instrument for that matter) on Made in Japan - they managed to get a brilliant un-cluttered sound. Made in Japan's a great live album, unlike that overdubbed charlatan by Lizzy which wins all the accolades. Ronnie James Who?
17. A classic! And incidentally, for every Made in Japan lover there's a Machine Head purist. Yawn.
18. Playing a bass with a plectrum? You'll be telling me people are hitting the strings with their thumbs next
19. Have I seen some cabs with a series option on the backplate?
