I'm 18. I've had a Warwick Stage 1 and the Beast (as in avatar) since I was 16. All bought for by myself through buying and selling through gear. Also money via various internet schemes (if anyone is interested ask, I won't explain them as I'll get flamed.) And of course money through hard work. Current job I get £7 an hour and double time on weekends. Work 8 - 4.30 every day and whatever I like on the weekends. It's brilliant! Currently funding looking to fund my Gap Year that will take me skiing for 5 months and then to Africa for 4, all from money off my own back. It's not actually that difficult to find money if you work for it (my opinion). Although saying that I don't have anyone depending on me and I do still live at home so have to thank my dad for that! Even with the increased council tax now I've turned 18!

EH USA BIG MUFF- power supply! Help please?
Spikyhedgehog replied to EskimoBassist's topic in Effects
I just soldered up one of these to the 9V battery wires and use a 9V DC powerbrick. Easy as pie. -
Especially the stuff with the really big bubbles.

Oh yeah, Parcel2go. Don't use them. I tried claiming insurance because I had taken it out, they just threw the T&C's back in my face saying the recipitent didn't check it at delivery. Grr.

I thing putting it in a race case is a very sensible idea. I didn't when I shipped mine, packaged up my B4r in more than overkill packaging. They still managed to bend the rack ear. Is it a 3U? You might end up getting some very expensive quotes for anything bigger.

Well I have to give up bass for 9 months as I'm travelling for it. Grrrr. Least I can get all new kit before Uni though.

The sound is from the fan and not the speaker right?

I use Boston ones. I find myself fiddling with the nuts all the time though..

Anyone run an ashdown head through an ampeg cab?
Spikyhedgehog replied to ashevans09's topic in Amps and Cabs
There wont be an issue, you don't need to match brands between amplifiers and cabinets. As to what it sounds like, that depends entirely upon the Amp and Cab in question. A MAG300 and a SVT-18 is going to sound radically different to a Superfly and a SVT-210HE. -
Aren't they 12s? Could go into one of these: http://billfitzmaurice.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3058
Sorry, yes they are 12's not 10's. I shall have a real look at doing something like that when I've got some more time on my hands. Thanks for the link.

I only just noticed this, not a million miles away from me at all. I would've popped along if it wasn't for my exams. Let us know if it all goes well!
Obviously a well designed cab? I don't know how you come to that conclusion! Looks like a bog standard under-braced, under-insulated box which is too small for the woofers to operate efficiently, has a speaker arrangement that causes poor off-axis response, has too small a horn tweeter to cross over well to the woofers and to cap it all the drivers don't even match. However, apart from the latter point, that would accurately describe the majority of bass cabs on the market... Impressive name though! Alex
Sounds good though. I might have a go at putting in some acoustic wool just to dampen the sound a little. It can be a little boomy when the notes start to drop lower. If I do end up getting a different cab, I'm really tempted to just wack out the Neo's and put them into an Omni 210. My woodworking skills are however, interesting...

Myspace coding is just awful, the 'music player' is possibly the worst piece of everything. It's just painful and doesn't work 90% of the time.
-
I should've added, the cab was professionally built by 'IZ Bass Technologies' and is obviously a well designed cab. If anyone has any info on these people I'd love to hear from them, google yeilds no answers. Thanks alex, basically answers my questions straight up. I had a quick look at the parameters before I posted and I noticed they weren't exactly similar, hence the thread. And Chris, I was more thinking of reslae value, people aren't going to want to buy a mismatched cab. I'm also just curious, haha. But no, it's my trusty cab and I like it just the way it is! I just want an 810...

I bought this cab nearly 3 years ago, for not alot of money. It's been brilliant and I can't really fault it. I knew the drivers were B&C when I bought it, but because I have never had an issue with sound I never had a peek inside. Opened it up just now, and this is the result: As you can see I've got mismatched speakers, this pissed me off a bit at first because I thought that this could cause severe damage to the speaker cones due to speakers with different diameters being in the same enclosure. But I quickly realised that the top two drivers had significantly smaller voice coils, and I clicked that they were neo drivers. Turns out the drivers are: Neo Drivers And the B&C PZ32, with a non Neo coil. Does anyone know whether changing the other two drivers so they match the Neo ones will make a noticeable difference to the sound? I wouldn't really want to splash out £250 on two new drivers if there isn't going to be a worthwhile difference.. It would shave nearly 8 kilos off the weight of the thing though... Anyone like to comment?

I had a BB210 for a while. Not exactly very loud and the tweeter is actually awful. But for the money..

Naahh, this is how it's done!

From the lineups I'm gunna guess he's from I Am Finn. After checking out thier (your) myspace (god it takes so goddamn long to load, myspace coding is just so goddamn terrible!) Sounds mad, haha.
