1. Bump for a great cab! I'm really happy with mine, tone and volume for days! This is a great price too.
2. It's a fantastic shop with fantastic people, well worth the trip!
3. I had a similar thing a few weeks ago. I saw ad for a tele at a silly price with a mobile number attached. - Called it and left a message and I got this a text and then email through a day later: Don't know if it's been long since you've emailed, I've been out so couldn't follow up on my text message. Can't promise anything but visiting my mum shortly, wouldn't mind making a drop off . If you'll send me your postcode I can check out on my satnav the distance to yours. Reasonable price and accurate description, it's worth the money, no bad surprises. I won't go any lower. Can be reached on 07973=425=052 low signal strength area but check emails regularly. Ta, Stacey. P.S. Will take cash only. I then tried to arrange to meet up locally but the seller never confirmed, I then got this message: Unfortunately I've just got called into the office (i get sent countrywide with less than 24hrs notice) so very busy till next week. Back at work we have some shipments for large items with parcelforce all week long. Just thought it would save you time and hassle if I'll send it along with them free of charge company benefits . I asked around and it seems you can pay cash upon delivery/inspection. It's quite simple since they're able to wait for you to check it out, if not as described they can just void the shipment with no extra charge. If that's alright with you I'll need a name, address, contact number and also date&time suitable for the delivery. Working long hours so If you want to pop in and pick it up you'll have to wait till next week or so when hopefully I'll get my head around Let me know either way. Stacey. The english is well written and fairly believable but is definitely a scam. Around half of all the adverts I see on gumtree are clearly scams or turn out to be fake. There are some genuine sellers out there but ALWAYS call the person and speak to them to get a feel for whether they are trying to rip you off and ideally meet them to examine the goods in person.
4. I'd be really interested to know if he did take it to a music shop and which one he took it to. Thats assuming he wasn't fully aware he was selling this poor guy a fake.
5. I saw this on gumtree too and messaged him to say its a rebranded import instrument with a dodgey logo on it. The varnish, logo, slab board, string tree location etc etc are all wrong. He MUST have known he was ripping someone off.
6. Just spotted this on the Ibanez site. http://www.ibanez.com/BassGuitars/Series-ATKPremium I always wanted to pick up one of the original basses after seeing the Offspring back around 1998 but this version looks great. Hats off to Ibanez for recording the sound/video clips too. The bassist is a beast too - I've listened to all the clips and the playing is pretty awesome. http://www.ibanez.com/atkSoundSamples/index.html No idea on UK pricing or if it will make it here, they quote $749 so I would hope it would be around £500, in which case I want it!!!
7. That looks pretty suspicious. For a company based in London to only have prices in Euros on the website looks very dodgy straight away. Everything they have listed is below market value and they only offer payment via bank transfer. Some of the English is a little questionable too. I could be wrong but there are plenty of concerns there that would put me off spending big money with them,
8. Great price for a great bass, wish I still had mine. Bump!
9. Arrrrrrghhhhh!!!!! Why do these always come up at the wrong time!
10. Agreed. Alan and Peter at Synergy are top guys. It's worth asking them to see what kind of price to expect from a dealer before going down the import route.
11. Sadly true. I will ask him for any updates and report back if he manages to have any contact with them at all.
12. The guitarist in my band ordered a cover from them 4 weeks ago and has had no contact, replies to emails, nothing.
13. Standard tuning in my band is D#, A#. D#, G#. Basically drop D but up a semi tone. Sounds brilliant! Plenty more definition on the low stuff! We did experiment with some other tunings but this seems to work for us.
14. 'Wings, only the band the Beatles could have been.' Mr A Partridge.
15. Ha. I bet it is my old one. I've just found a white scratchplate for a DJ5 which I never thought to include when I sold it on before. If your buyer wants it just let me know and I can send it out.
16. I don't suppose you originally bought this second hand from someone in Reading did you? I just wonder if this used to belong to me! I had a DJ5 I sold with a hiscox case and I swapped the pickguard to a tort one.
17. The TV mix had a far better bass sound than any other band on the brits which made me a bit suspicious plus his hand movements just didn't seem to correspond to the fills I was hearing. Whoever played the part did a fantastic job but I'm not convinced the band were playing live.
18. I seriously thought he was miming all the way through the performance. Some great Jameson esque bass parts and tremendous bass tone! Maybe I need to listen again but it looked and sounded far too perfect for a live show.
19. Was this the one on gumtree? If yes then you beat me to it!! Hope it plays as great as it looks.
20. Looking at interparcel they do state that they will not ship 'Articles of exceptional value (eg, works of art, antiques, precious stones, gold and silver) over £250'. Would a musical instrument come into that category??
21. These pics are amongst the best I have ever seen for a bass advertised on here. Exceedingly drool-worthy!
22. The bass gallery do commission sales at only 15% commission! Much more reasonable than the denmark street rates.
23. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_-xX7iWvzbo...player_embedded As someone who worked in music retail for 6 years I can really appreciate how difficult it can be to strike a balance between trusting customers enough to hand them high end guitars and protecting your stock from the (unfortunately) many people who will not treat them with any respect. This is especially difficult with commission sales when the seller wants the guitar to be spotless if it is collected as it hasn't sold. Music shops can be real nutter magnets and you never know if who you are talking to is a genuine customer with cash to hand or a time wasting mental health patient on a day off the ward! I have had great service from the gallery before and really look forward to a visit every couple of years when I get the itch (and the funds) to buy something new.
24. I can vouch for dealing with Sagawa. I bought a MIM P bass off him a couple of weeks back and he is a gent to deal with!
