  1. Excellent band, saw them at Futurama 3 (1981 I believe). Burnt my leg jumping over a bonfire I seem to recall, then again I was very, very... drunk.
  2. So much ukulele hate here, I didn’t realise ukelelism of this sort would be tolerated on this forum, moderators! Some of my best friends play the ukulele imagine their poor bare laps once we leave the EU... 😁
  3. Get in touch with Hercules, they will probably replace it.
  4. I think you can get similar faults with other stands but the thing about Hercules is that they seem to acknowledge the problem and be quick to rectify it. I actually think it makes the brand worth using.
  5. Yes. By my experience anyway and they are pretty good at sorting it out if you do have problems.
  6. I think there was a period during which some Hercules stands developed this problem, I have stands from before and after that period and they are fine. I bought a couple earlier this year and I checked with the salesperson that the stock was new and assured me that the newer stands were made of different materials. He knew about the this fault in particular and assured me that Hercules had taken steps to rectify it. Never had a problem with any of mine.
  7. Is this still available?
  8. That, Sir, is a thing of beauty.
  9. I don’t know but it’s certainly worth a try.
  10. Bass Bashes are great!
  11. Hello! It sure is a great forum.
  12. Looking at the manual it does have line level on both inputs, it might work, I’ll try it out tomorrow. Cheers.
  13. It is getting close to upgrading preamp time. Despite getting a perfectly good tone from my Fishman preamp it is still only a one channel box. After looking at many options the Grace Designs Felix seems to be the best bet because I can have separate channels for my fretted and fretless basses. Thing is that unlike the Fishman the Felix does not have onboard compression so do I..? a) run the two basses into the separate channels on the Felix and out via a single (blend) channel into a compressor and on into the QSC? b) run the two basses into the separate channels on the Felix and out via separate channels into a dual channel compressor (if there is such a thing?) and on into the QSC? c) save myself a lot of cash and buy another Fishman and run each bass into separate preamps and then out into something that will combine the signals so I can run into the QSC? d) some really obvious solution that I’m too thick to have considered, a small mixing desk, a Helix, something else? ...what would you do with two basses with very different outputs and eq/compression needs that also need to go into a QSC?
  14. Exactly this.
  15. As I said, it’s simply a matter of personal choice, what’s blimmin’ useless for one person might be just the ticket for another.
  16. Matte black or dark natural wood. Currently, obviously, this is my favourite finish on a bass that @Jabba_the_gut is building for me....
  17. Same here, it’s simply a matter of personal taste that’s usually defined by the markings on the fist fretless you played. There is no right or wrong nor is anything more right than anything else.
  18. Welcome to the enlightenment.
  19. Man that’s minimalist loveliness...
  20. In that case, definitely! Shall I PM about the neck?
  21. Sure! Is that from the same batch of wood? I know we discussed my ludicrous initial fretless spec but really, watching this bass being reconfigured has made me want a fretless as similar to the fretted one above. I have a couple of fingerboard requests but otherwise just as close to a twin as possible.
