I thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing but I think that’s because I totally ignored the songs, or rather none of them did anything musically or lyrically that aroused the slightest interest. Also I was waiting for Madonna, I’m hardly what you’d call a fan but as her career is on the downslope and this was a worldwide broadcast I thought she might do something radical or even controversial, unfortunately not, in fact she just blended quite well into the unremarkable pap.

You are right, one of my always there albums, recorded in 2017 English Tapas - Sleaford Mods, best album for years.

Fender Kingman is the loudest acoustic bass I’ve ever played but I’m afraid I agree with most commenters on this thread, I don’t think it’ll be heard above the other instruments/voices you are performing with. Get a small amp and you suddenly get a much wider choice.

I’m an idiot not to have tried the Felix out...

I saw the Felix but that has a channel for pugging the instrument into and one for a mic from the instrument in order to blend signals, I think? I don’t need the mic so I assumed the Alize would be the way to go?

I don’t know why but just this last week of two I’ve been wondering how a Fender P would feel to play, never liked the look of them, always preferred a jazz or even an Aerodyne. I’m a five minute walk from PMT, it’s lunch break...

Anyone..?

I am considering replacing my Fishman Platinum Pro preamp with the Grace Designs Alix. Now my usual MO is to just buy the thing I want without doing any comparison but not this time, well, not if at all possible that is. So, does anyone out there own a Grace Designs Alix, Felix or Bix that I can try or does anyone have experience of the Grace Designs preamps in comparison with the Fishman? Also, if I do go for the Alix, this will mean getting a separate compressor as the Fishman has one built in (already talking myself out of the Alix). I have no complaints about the Fishman, I’m just wondering if the Alix is really going to be noticeably superior? Any thoughts or opinions welcome.
