Yes, the Basic Performer is voiced for double bass and the one @Frank Blank mentioned (and owned) is a good deal indeed. 😉
Yes, I owned it from new, never gigged, one Bass Bash and occasionally used in home rehearsals.

It sounds like you know it's still there...

...you'll find nothing better at this price and I took care of it so it's in pristine nick.

Does anybody know this guy personally? Can’t seem to get a response from him. Perhaps he’s away somewhere
Perhaps you shouldn't have called him Dibs.

There's a coincidence! I was listening to a couple of RB songs earlier - Ballet Dance and Newz. The sentiment behind Newz hasn't aged a bit - in fact it's got stronger, if anything. I gather they're still going - do you keep in touch?
Not seen Sid & Zillah since early 2000s and lost touch. Last time I worked for them was 11th Aug 1984 when they backed up New Model Army (yes, with Stuart Morrow) at Klub Foot. I keep in touch with their later guitarist Steve.

Judging by your avatar I guess you are a Crass fan? I saw them play a couple of times, back in the day. Once at the 100 club on Oxford strand once in Walthamstow at a small venue whose name I’ve forgotten. This was probably 1980 or 1981. I loved the first album, Do they owe us a living, securicor cares etc.
A big Crass fan, certainly a very formative band for me, musically, politically. I used to hang out at Dial House quite a bit way back then, probably more of a nuisance than a commune supporter. I saw them at Walthamstow around the same time but I can’t remember the venue either! It was through Crass that I got my first job as a roadie for Rubella Ballet. I still listen to all their albums but Feeding The 5000 takes a lot of beating.

Evening, welcome. Lots punk/post punk era folk on here, the drug of choice is a statin rather than a bag of glue these days mind you.

While the demand for fixed line infrastructure is found to be independent of the demand for mobile infrastructure, the demand for mobile infrastructure depends on fix-line infrastructural demand. Similarly, mobile investments depend on fixed line investments but fixed line investments are found to be independent. While fixed line infrastructure is installed at a point in time without a competitive infrastructure being already in place, mobile supply and also mobile demand depend on the fixed line market situation. These findings support the idea of asymmetric substitutability effects between competitive infrastructures in European telecommunication markets. Or at least I thought this to be true, how do you feel about it?

In my ‘umble opinion it simply doesn’t get any better, he’s top of the shop as far as I’m concerned.

Thanks @Zoe_BillySheehan for pointing me in the direction of The Tooth Mother, excellent album, nicely mind-bending playing from Mick Karn as per.

That's brilliant. Are you going to a tutor? Or learning from books/Internet? Would appreciate any tips 😊
I’m going to a tutor once week, doing a lot of transcription and scales.

I can relate to the no musical training thing... Note names are foreign to me... I learn by ear mostly! But always wish I started with a load more music theory!
Exactly the same here although I’m getting tuition now, finally, after forty years.

I read an interview with Mick Karn, I think from around the time of Tin Drum, where he explained he didn’t have any musical training, I think he said “I don’t know a C from an E”. The rest of Japan would rehearse up an idea into a song but MK would sometimes just see the title of the song from the lyrics and let that inspire his bass line, then he’d take that bass line to the rehearsal and invariably it was so good the band would rework the entire song around his line. Yer’ proper one off Mr Karn.

Go get it, I’d be well chuffed if you ended up with it, it just wasn’t getting used to its full potential with me.
