...and why a lot of upright players use AER amps. I used to have the AER Basic Performer, lovely amp but it didn't sound as good as the QSC.

I was on exactly this quest as I wanted my Rob Allen Mouse to sound as much like an upright bass as possible for some songs. I found the best sounding to me was to use a QSC K12.2, even without a preamp, just bass straight in, it sounds great and very upright like.

Just bought a lovely JMJ Mustang from an equally lovely @Brucegill. Excellent, painless transaction, a real pleasure to deal with. So firstly I need to declare him a scholar and a gentleman and secondly award him the entirely un-coveted Frank Blank Seal of Approval... Cheers Bruce.

I just tried to set this to record, probably best to mention it's this coming Friday 28/7.

I am only just beginning to realise that my ridiculous form way over function habits are what has a) cost me a lot of money over the years and b) had me scratching my head over why I am never satisfied tonally. Some very good advice on here had me buying a compressor recently that I'd never have given a second glance to a few months back. It's ugly but exactly the right compressor. I am hoping this lesson will have me making much better gear purchases from now on. Cheers @Osiris.
