Does anyone connect their preamp to a powered speaker (QSC, RCF etc.) using an XLR? If so which input do you use on the speaker?

Turning up and paying a tenner is the usual method.

I saw that when I was 11 or 12 and I STILL remember being freaked out by Ron Mael!
He really freaked my parents *spits* out which was yet another reason for loving them.

I kept mine simple.
Pedaltrain nano with cioks DC5 - smoothhound wireless - tuner - Preamp.
Currently have a Dave hall valve on there but I swap out for a variety (not necessary of course)
XLR out to QSC K10.2 and DI to FOH
Months later I’m just checking... so you take an XLR from preamp to QSC?

Agree with all the comments on this thread that it's probably more about strings and technique than core bass tone, but an Ovation Magnum is just fabulous for reggae / ska - I've never played another bass with such naturally massive low end whilst retaining complete clarity / articulation. Currently using La Bella 750T White tapewounds on my fretless Magnum 1.

Still good to see that you seem to be still pleased with the decision! Yay!
It’s the only amplification set up I have ever been 100% happy with, it’s been a genuine basslife changer.

I’m with @Muppet with the amp modeller/preamp IEM route but if that’s too big a change (although by far the best weight wise) you could get yourself an amp modeller/preamp + FRFR cab set up so you do still have a cab on stage. This is my entire set up now and my back thanks me...

The halls all booked but there was an incident there recently with people smashing a window so there is the chance of changes in the people who run it.
The booking form, deposit and goodwill deposit have been giving to the committee so there shouldn't be an issue.
There's a big meeting in the next week or two so maybe hold fire for now and as soon I can give the 100%, I will.
Superb, thanks. I’ve booked but can cancel so we’re all good.

Sorry to interrupt the hilarity you cheeky scamps but can I just ask @jebroad is this Bash confirmed for certain, as in hall booked etc.? Only checking because I want to book a hotel for the evening before so I don't have to do a round trip on the day.

Let me know if you're bringing stuff that's not shown below and I'll add it to the list.
I should be bringing an Ibanez SRC6 as well.

She claims a lot of things but the other protagonists are dead and no one kept any records anyway. I take her claims with a pinch of salt for these reasons and I would say the same about Babbitts claims or those of anyone else active at the time, hence my irony
She had some cool shades though.

There's all sorts of unsafe and sipid music produced by every generation... You may not like it, but that's the point, isn't it?
Try these for a start:
Sleaford Mods, excellent, unsafe, sipid and almost old enough to be grandparents.

@Jabba_the_gut don’t let me leave the SW Bash without me trying one of your shorties, I’m thinking one of those might be my second purchase from you (before you become my personal luthier).

Preamp to Powered Speaker Connections
in Effects
Posted
I have two XLR inputs on mine, both with two input settings, one is mic or line, one is line or instrument. I usually connect my preamp with a 1/4" jack via the second input set to line, if I connect the preamp to the same input set to line with an XLR I just get an unpleasant hum.
