  1. Having finally settled on an FRFR set up that’s is, by far, the best amplification solution I’ve ever used, I have now bumped into the next hurdle, which, to be honest, I should have considered before buying the preamp. I play an acoustic fretless bass through a Fishman Platinum Pro and into a QSC K12.2 and it’s exactly the sound I’ve been after for, well, decades really and that would be fine only I need to play my fretted four string through the same set up. Playing live or whilst rehearsing I alternate between basses, obviously the settings on the preamp need to change yet the Fishman has only one channel and obviously I don’t want to be altering the eq back and forth as the basses change. Are there preamps with the ability to save different eq settings and switch between them? Or is there another solution to this? I am hoping the only answer isn’t a Kemper or a Helix but as ever I’m open to persuasion @EBS_freak...
  2. That’s what freaked me out so much, they have such a beefy tone, I was genuinely shocked. So much so I began playing along with Hanson, PMT Southend, there.
  3. The one I played had none of the neck issues yours had, I think you might have found a duff there.
  4. What do you play now?
  5. But will it be as good as Orienteering With Napalm Death?
  6. I realise it’s a crap reason but I just dont like the look of these sort of bridges, never have, just a personal taste thing I think. My only real preference is to replace it with something black! I might make it a stealth project.
  7. Exactly this ^ I too consider it part of the initial cost of any instrument I buy.
  8. Has anyone modified a Gretsch Junior Jet with a new bridge? Liking these basses but not the bridge.
  9. I never owned any of their records but saw them a few times.
  10. This maybe a stupid (if I could build instruments I wouldn't suggest it) but I always hanker after a scratch plate made of wood, or at least appearing like it, in a different shade but with the same finish, still showing the grain, is that odd?
  11. I'm such an ar53, I clicked on this thinking I was going to find fretless basses constructed of metal....
  12. Gulp. It's thirty seven years since I saw Subhumans, brings joy to my heart that they are still going.
  13. That’s cool but I want a new one for some inexplicable reason.
  14. I’m with @Andyjr1515 when it comes to the ‘clash’ between the scratch plate and the f hole. I keep imagining the bass in the bottom pic with another f hole just where the curved metal (is it called a control plate?) piece is.
  15. Does it come with the ‘surprise’ snapping neck?
  16. I believe he did just that...
  17. They were like crack weren’t they? I had, what can only be called, a Ruffle habit.
  18. Returning this thread firmly to it’s original topic, does anyone else remember Aztec chocolate bars?
  19. I’ve only heard good reports about them and yet I remained sceptical... until I actually played one, it kind of stunned me a bit, really beefy and warm, it just knocked all the others into a cocked hat! I like the sunburst but that black is just calling me.
  20. Don’t even look at the top one, any of you, avert your eyes 👀
  21. Was in PMT Southend today, no prices on anything.
  22. Coffee spat over iPad, there, 🤧
  23. Jazz not Jizz... Jesus! 😀
