  1. Watch it, you'll be a convert! Since trying out my QSC K12.2 in PMT with a Fishman preamp I haven't used a traditional amp/cab setup since. Bass > preamp > QSC > desk If there's PA support then I use the QSC as a monitor, if not then I use it as backline. Never going back to amp/cabs. Thinking about the EBS SC as the two channels would be good between fretted and fretless acoustic basses.
  2. Just purchased a QSC powered speaker from @Bridgehouse, perfectly smooth deal, a delight to deal with, still haven't had a go on his ride-on mower and no, that is not a euphonium. Deal with confidence, an absolute gent, therefore I happily award the Frank Blank Seal of Approval...
  3. It was mine, I had two mice, fretted and fretless, sold both, regret both hugely.
  4. You are right. I just spent a couple of hours with @Osiris yesterday because I couldn't get my head around compression and I knew he was the man to explain it to me. It's really a very subtle and complex thing, but yes, compression, when understood and used correctly can, amongst other things, even out unequal string tone/volumes.
  5. But you just did and he doesn't.
  6. I use a footstool, any of the several offered on Amazon will do the trick. This was the one I went with, does the job perfectly well.
  7. That's only when 'un-inflated'. It has hollow chambers that, once filled with helium, reduce the weight to just under seven tonnes.
  8. Sam Lee / Elizabeth Fraser - YouTube - Folk
  9. Have a listen through their back catalogue though, their style has changed through the years. I'll post the rest of that session below, all tracks from their superb latest album Sketchy, best album of 2022 imho...
  10. GoGo Penguin - YouTube - Jazz/Nu-Jazz
  11. Tune Yards - Jools Holland - Art Pop
  12. Ricard Dawson - Radio 3 Late Junction - Freak Folk / Progressive Folk
  13. My first ever listen to Gong this morning, had no idea they'd (occasionally) sound this funky!
  14. I told you. We're an anarcho-syndicalist commune. We take it in turns, to act as a sort of executive officer for the week...
  15. Just sold a camera lens to Dave @Rumple. Really easy transaction, great comms, speedy payment, lovely job. I therefore have no hesitation in awarding the Frank Blank Seal of Approval...
  16. Den of Iniquity - A noble and charitable organisation established at the first Convention of Boniface in 1739 by Sy Augustine of Peckham Rye in order to "Guide the pious in their solemn movements after a particularly large Sunday dinner"
