  1. Paging @Stub Mandrel
  2. I freely admit I use more than recommended and more often than recommended (I think it might be considered a slathering) and still no harm has come to my fretboards.
  3. I keep my basses and guitars in a room that tends to be a bit dry so I probably oil my fretboards a little more regularly than recommended and I’ve not experienced any of the problems on the aforementioned thread.
  4. Been oiling my fretboards for the best part of thirty five years, no problems, only benefits. My luthier oils fretboards if they need it as part of his set up services. ***this is my personal experience*** I can also heartily recommend reading the thread referred to above for… a) the interesting and thought provoking points of view expressed. b) the total and utter hilarity of a thread quickly descending into a Hogarthian scene that would wouldn’t look out of place in Apocalypse Now! c)The horror, the horror.
  5. First line of my CV, there.
  6. When you’re tired of big muff you are tired of life. Oliver Reed on the set of The Pirates of Blood River (1962)
  7. Still astounded this is here. This is the most gigging friendly Jazz on here, amazingly light, plays itself!
  8. Mmmmm, kinky.
  9. You played my fretless version Sir.
  10. A beautiful powerful amp and @Burns-bass is an absolute gent. This is a real bargain.
  11. No it didn’t, it came from Roger Whittaker and Roger Whittaker only. This is absolutely proven by physics, this graph and my total inability to be able to interact like a grown up. No there isn’t. No he didn’t. My Dad whistled Bridge Over Troubled Water for the duration of our space flight to the Pleiades to visit my Gran. She’s 473 years old and made of spalted pine bubinga that’s been waxed by a swarm of bees twice a day since last Michaelmas. But I keep telling her it’s all in the fingers but she thinks I’m talking about Cadburys when it’s obvious I’m on about Findus. Anyway, I digress, the main thrust of my argument is I am definitely right.
  12. This thread would be so much better if it’s title was… The Hilarious Thread Approved by Roger Whittaker For Those Who Pretend Whistling Doesn't Come From Durham Town...
  13. It is but I had the wet/dry switch modified on mine as I was getting a lot of residual bleed on the follow through.
  14. I have one on board thanks.
  15. …the second instalment of the Iron Maiden bass player’s autobiography will be available next Monday from all good bookshops published by West Ham Press, £12.99.
  16. Right there, a little mouse with clogs on… Ahem, sorry, carry on.
  17. Welcome @RhythmJunky
  18. Welcome @PTSD. This is a very different place from the forum you mention in the states, I was utterly mauled on there simply for asking a couple of basic questions, it’s quite the opposite here, very friendly and massively helpful. Good luck.
  19. Welcome @Saskia
