  1. Their third album, the sublime Empires and Dance, has some great bass from Mr Forbes. The whole album sounds like it was built around the bass lines and sequences. One of my favourite albums of all time…
  2. I’m 60, hardly young, listening to a band made up of a 50 and 49 year old.
  3. I suppose Japan count as New Wave therefore we have to include the governor…
  4. No, Leigh Gorman played bass for Bow Wow Wow. Andy Warren went straight from Adam and the Antz to The Monochrome Set.
  5. Metal Box - Jah Wobble That is all.
  6. …and their film Bunch of Kunst (2017) is on Sky Arts tonight at 10pm.
  7. Each to their own I say, our differences, be it musical or otherwise, are to be celebrated. Whatever your musical tastes it’s an honour to know you Sir. *salutes*
  8. I love Rock City, some of my favourite gigs have been there superb venue. Doubly happy Sleaford Mods were on, one of the most important bands since Crass for me.

  10. NOW SOLD Having once and for all settled on exclusively playing short scale basses I'm selling this Sandberg California TT4 P. I bought this from @DoubleOhStephan last November but only got to pick it up a week or two back. It is, by far, the lightest 34" bass I've ever played, it's just a shade heavier than my 30' Rob Allen Mouse. Incredible bit of kit. Pickup from Southend, delivered to you by me (reasonable distance obv, try me) or mid-way meet. Here's a couple of my snaps...
  11. Be careful you don't cross the Preamp Horizon and become a singularity.
  12. Paging @Bassassin
  13. Which is why I'm blaming you for my latest purchase...
  14. Welcome @Bassxperience
  15. Man alive I love that track…
  16. Were they closed when you went?
  17. I still listen to Benji’s first band (and Skindred)…
  18. God. Forty three f****** years… Many a Friday night spent dancing to that dressed in my punk regalia, confused teen syndrome. It’s as fresh today as it was back then. I love the way it just refuses to move out of the groove.
  19. One of the greatest tunes ever imho, relentless groove.
  20. Just met Stew at a service station in a friggin’ monsoon, a monsoon I tells ‘ya. However, despite the inclement weather, I was able to finally hand over the Sandberg he recently purchased from me. As always, great comms, ridiculously easy deal, he’s one of the trustworthy lovely folk that make BC a joy to be on. One of an increasingly rare breed, a gentleman. Cheers Stew!
  21. Well, I was a Sandberg owner very briefly. Owning these two, albeit for only a few weeks in the case of the sunburst and only a few days for the natural, has definitely and finally confirmed that short scales are my bag. These two are the finest full scale basses I’ve owned, if I’m still preferring to pick up a 32 or 30” bass then there can’t be any doubt. The sunburst is already sold and the natural will be going on the market place tomorrow. Sandberg make superb basses, I really must try out a Lionel!
