I was lucky enough to see them play a few times with Morrow, not only is it hard playing like that with a pick but how an earth he did it throwing himself all over the place like he did I don’t know. Mind you thankfully he set the bar extremely high for the subsequent bass players in NMA who have all been excellent, but none as unique as Stuart Morrow.

I didn't say I preferred pre-Relayer Yes, nor with-Gabriel Genesis, I just said I hadn't listened to them, I may well listen to these in the future and might possibly like them, which is specifically why I didn't say I preferred them.

Personal taste, exactly, the answer to most threads on BC. I heard DSOTM first and yet I have listened to WYWH more over the years, it's just personal preference. I never listened to anything by Yes after Relayer, never listened to any Genesis after Peter Gabriel left and I have never knowingly heard a track, let alone an album, by Rush.

This morning, while I was cleaning both my Rob Allen Mice, it occurred to me that there is no page on BC (to my knowledge) purely for the appreciation of Rob Allen's beautiful guitars, so here it is. I bought the fretted Mouse earlier this year and I finally got a chance a fortnight ago to get it up to Guitar Technical Services for a full set up. Having found a few problems with it we discussed (via email) the frets. Now RA uses mandolin fret wire on the Mouse which is why he recommends on his site not to use any strings other than La Bella 760n. I had always wondered what the Mouse would sound like with other strings so after some email chat I decided to have the Mouse re-fretted with standard frets which opens up a whole world of string choices. Anyway enough waffle, here are my two (fnar) show us your Rob Allen basses...
