Hi Laura, I stay just outside Edinburgh, but work in town. If you message me your location I could have a look at it for you and see what needs done. Don't know anything about painting though. Failing that, taking it to Guitar Guitar or Red dog and fluttering your eye lids might work...! Kets
what is worth a mention is Pino P's fretless doodle on Nick Heywards middle 8 of "Take that situation" circa '82/83 I couldn't find it on youtube but ...christ..... I love that stuff!! the whole bass line "drips" groove ... Pino..........up there with the VERY best....
+1 Awesome stuff that! Somebody also mentioned Brian Ritchie's solo on Violent Femme's "please do not go", another stunning, musical solo. Muzz Skilling's solo on Living Colour's "Broken Hearts" from Vivid is pretty cool as well.

I used to own a Charvel strat type guitar in the very early 90's, very nice it was too. I seem to remember they were all the rage then (Perhaps just in our neck of the woods...) and there was also Charvette, which was like their Squier equivalent. Nice looking bass, and an absolute bargain at £50.

Top stuff, looked like you were really enjoying yourself there. Some times people on these vids look like they're about to vomit! By the way, what a coincidence you posting this at the very time I was watching Black Hawk down which has Stevie Ray Vaughn playing this on it...Spooky!

Blimey, you don't hang about do you, I only sent that neck the other day! Glad you like it, it's a stunning neck and that bass looks really good, well done. I've got a bitsa bass myself which I might post here, although I didn't actually build it. Kets

Really enjoyed that, quite interesting comparison. I have a set of flats on my TRB fretless, only because they were on it when I bought it. They actually sound and feel good, however I do seem to get a bit of finger noise from my plucking hand which I've never noticed with roundwounds. Someone else tried my bass recently, who'd used flats before and he was quite impressed. Maybe the past is the way forward...?
Please do. I have my eye on a very nice Blackurst that im itching to buy once my DJ5 has sold. I cant get to play one before though so any input is good. There is also a very long Sandberg thread on TB.
I will. Quite surprised there isn't any reviews on here already given the number of Sandberg owners. I might check out the TB thread, not been on there for a while.

I hope it's not all just hype 'cos I've got giblett123's Sea foam green Cali PM on it's way to me as we speak. Never played one, but it looks stunning and all the videos I've seen of them sound amazing, plus everyone says the're awesome. I might even be moved to do a review when it arrives...! Kets

It's a bit too weird looking for me, I actually quite like the Bongo though...

Hi folks, Up for sale is a Squier Classic Vibe Jazz Bass neck in almost new condition. I bought it on here from gafbass a couple of weeks ago for my fretless, but I've now decided to sell the fretless so the neck is up for sale again! It has a vintage tint, rosewood board and doesn't come with tuners or string tree. The hole for the tuners is 11/16th's I think Looking for £60 or nearest offer. Can post pics if required. Kets

Hi Folks, Here for sale we have my fretless Jazz, a CIJ '62 re-issue in sunburst. I bought this new in 1997 and only used it for home use, so it's in excellent condition as seen from the pictures. It does have a few scratches on the bottom edge and some wear marks on the scratchplate, but no dings or buckle rash. It was bought as a fretted bass and made fretless by a local Edinburgh Luthier, whereby he replaced the frets with thin strips of dark wood-very neat! Other than that it's unmodified. This bass plays beautifully, has a nice low action and sounds great. I'm looking for about £400, which I think is fair given the condition. P &P included. Any questions please ask. I hadn't seen that one before, pretty good and some nice playing by Mr Turner. Is it possible to save this onto my media library? I'm useless at these things!

It's not half bad that actually and Mark's voice has matured, he sounds really good, not as nasal as he used to be sometimes. Love the thumbed bassline, is this a first for christmas songs I wonder? How about Marcus Miller doing a thumbed version of The Waitresses "Christmas Wrapping"...?

l Love Franz Ferdinand anyway, and this is a cool bassline. Can't say that the bass is the thing I look out for when I listen to them though.. -
Actually looks like a really nice instrument, but probably overpriced by about £500 IMO! I tried one of these about 16 years ago and loved it but wasn't in a position to buy. If only someone had one to sell at a good price... Sounds like the guy selling it doesn't know much about basses.

My first Spector was an NS 2000/5 which was awesome. Great feel, sound and build quality, the only problem was that I found the string spacing a bit tight at the bridge end, so I swapped it for something else on here. I've now got a Legend Classic 4, which I love! It's great for the money, highly recommended. I'd love a Euro in the future...
