The ME 90B.

Spec wise I’d much prefer the new Boss one that came out recently, i especially like the battery option, but it looks bigger than i really want. It needs to fit in the front pocket of my gig bag.

Gig bag for a tall-ish person
dave_bass5 replied to Mediocre Polymath's topic in Accessories and Misc
I have considered that a few times but it’s more bulky than what i want. -
Always prefer to get to know the unit as much as i can, so not interested in the software side that much. Never used it with Helix or other Xoom products. I’ve always needed to tweak things at gigs so need to know how and do it quickly. I wouldn’t bother with any app in a live situation. I’m pretty quick at picking these things up. I’d be up and running quickly as my needs aren’t too much, plus i already know what i need. Just a few effects with a BDDI running before them.

That the only problem ive found with low hanging bags. You end up walking along the road looking like you have a full nappy 😀 -
Which companies are dead to you?

Guitar Guitar. Wont go in to it, but had despicable service from the manager of one of their shops. -
Yeah, but it does seem quite low for a gigging combo.

Thinking of order one of these next week. Im ok with the software being iOS as id probably use my ipad more than my Mac anyway. Ive looked at a couple of the support documents but cant see if the unit still needs a PSU or if it runs off bus power from the ipad. Im guessing it needs a PSU as well though?

Gone off this now lol. Most likely get the B2 Four as i would prefer to be able to switch individual FX on and off, plus the USB interface will be really handy.
-
Just looking at the 210 combo. Even that is rated quite low. 160 W Continuous (RMS) 300 W Peak.
-
You are correct, that is what it says on the Boss website. I guess it gets confusing when other figures not on the spec list are quoted.
-
My thinking is always that they did their market research and designed for that rather than to please everyone. Isn't it 500watt - 250watt though? It does seem a bit strange that it costs more than the combo though.

I had that Levy's bag (got it iwth an HW-1 bass) and loved it. Never had any damaged to my basses in it, and when wearing it on just one shoulder the headstock sat that the same height as my head. This allowed melt also wear a rucksack in the proper way. Ive never managed to get another bag like it. Im now resigned to using a ‘better’ bag and use both straps, but have had a hard time finding one that sits low. I really wanted a Mono but those sit high, i recently got a Fender and that sits even higher. Turns out the best for me is an old Sire bag ive had for a few years. -
I think I’ll get this. Coming back to bass i realised i sold off my BDDI. I like that the 60B+ has a BDDI with more Mid freq’s selectable. Even more than the real thing. If i only use it for this its still over £100 cheaper. I do stil have my original 60B, and a B1 Four, which ill use until i can get the 60B+

The IEM (in ear monitors) Bible thread

And how angry IEM users get when others don't go with the suggestion they change what already works for them 😂 -
What appeals to me Is the built in FX and that it can be used as an interface. Pretty much does it all for me at home and live. I may wait until after the ‘best amp ever’ lot put their’s up for sale 😂.

Another company messing things up. Doesn’t even have Netflix, Boss really dont have a clue do they? 😂 I like it and am looking for a new head……hmmm…..🤔

Wireless system - Lekato, Boss or something else?
dave_bass5 replied to ots's topic in General Discussion
Can’t you unscrew them And do the same? I’ve done that in the past with the one i had. The jacks on my Lekato seem to be just a tiny bit thinner than the Xvive. They rotate in the socket on my P bass so my options are having hanging down or rotated and stored away on the bass as in the photo above. Either is fine i guess but i would be more worried about it ganging down and then putting the bass down. -

Just seen this. A bit pricey at £20 but it seems like a good way of securing a bug type transmitter to a strap. Anyone got one? https://xvive.com/audio/product/h1-transmitter-holder/ -

Just a heads up that the LEKATO WS-90 is only £47 on Amazon at the moment. -
I keep going back and forth between 4 and 5. I like the narrow string spacing i get with a 5, even if im not using the B string. When i go back to a 4 it feels awkward for a few minutes, but then its fine. Ive played many 5 over the years, but always seem to got back to a 4. This is probably why ive never really adjusted my playing for a 5, as i know I’ll be using a 4 again. When i started playing bass again (a couple of weeks ago) i was all in to the 5 string i have, but after walking some distance with it im now back to my Fender. At the moment it’s more because it’s a nicer, much lighter bass. The difference between 10.2lbs and 8lbs is quite noticeable when walking for 30 mins. I guess thats it for me, it’s not the number of stings, but the Bass itself. If my 5 string was lighter id maybe stick with it. Oh, and we have one song that needs a 5 string, which is the reason i was using it. Not a good enough reason though. I’ll play higher up and save myself some back pain.

I dont have an issue with how they work, but im not a fan of how they look and feel. I also haven’t got used to the on/off switch yet. I can changing channels on the transmitter by mistake while fumbling around. A bit smaller should also be nice, but at this price point i cant complain. -

I guess I’ll just go with this solution. It’s not like i really need to use those knobs in the heat of the moment. -
Totally disagree. Id say quite the opposite. WE have to be happy with what we are playing and feel comfortable with it. It doesnt matter to the audience what we are using, and not having a 5 string is never going to stop the party.
