  1. Yeah, he has some cool sounding speaker cab sims as well, using only EQ.
  2. My CV Jazz (first run) had a buzz. It was a machine head that wasnt fixed to the tuner shaft properly. I put a tiny bit of super glue on it and its been fine ever since (about 13 years i believe)
  3. I had a bass for sale on here, local collection only in London, and was pestered by a guy in Spain that wanted it sent. Took quite a few messages and the sale to get rid of him. My point is, some people wont care about what the seller puts
  4. No problem, i thought that might be the case. As it i is my BB435 went back. Lovely bass but i just didnt feel I shouldn’t be spending that money with what’s going on in the world at the moment. I might need it to buy food at some point rather than have yet another bass.
  5. What’s this about? I never said that.🤔
  6. I just past the top of your road. Wanted to pop in and see your Sadowsky killer, but with things how they are I thought I’d leave it for now.
  7. The whole bass bares more than a little resemblance to a Sadowsky. Both are PJ’s which sound authentic, both are active, both have very playable necks, both are more than gig worthy. Come to think of it, why buy a Sadowsky in the first place lol.
  8. Ive recently been using his 8x10 EQ patch over the IR's i have. I feel this works really well for my headphone practice.
  9. As soon as i posted that statement above i thought about that bass lol. I expected Paul to post it though.
  10. Those that do RTFM become god like on websites like this lol.
  11. Very nice tone. Love a bit of growl in the low notes.
  12. Yep, once ive read it i don’t need it anymore 😄
  13. Well i am one of those that likes to read the manual and do a lot of research before getting something (or while its on its way), so i try and get as familiar as i can with something as soon as i can. I have, and still do, struggle with my Zoom’s, but the Helix seem to be very well laid out.
  14. Not for me. It was love at first sight. Not so with my Zoom boxes, which took a lot more work .
  15. Yeah, and Andertons seem to have a lot of fretless versions as well. Might be tempted to pick up a 4 string P7 fretless if i dont get back out gigging soon. Always wanted a fretless but never actually needed one. My V7 replaced a Yamaha TRBX505 (my first ever Yamaha) and i was much happier with the B string on the Sire.
  16. It was light, and had no issues. I just felt with things the way they are, it was a bit of an extravagance, and im still not convinced i need another 5 string. My heart still lays with 4 string basses. I ddnt want another unused bass sitting around. I also fidn the more basses i have the harder it is to chose one. I would have (probably still will) sold the 425 to soften the blow, but even so. the 435 only cost £399 as it was ex display at Dawnsons. If anyone is looking for one, keep an eye on their website for it to be re listed. As it was i was put on a 3 day week from today, so right decision.
  17. I much preferred the 435 tone.
  18. Probably the wood or treatment then, (i dont really buy in to that but that's for another thread) but my 435 sounded very different to my P34, both with the same stings on them (although P34 slightly older, but hardly used).
  19. Same here. Cost me £375. Cant imagine ever selling mine either. Not only a good 5 string, but it does the Jazz bass sound better than most jazz basses ive played since getting it.
  20. This is the mod i had done on my Lakland DJ5. I also had Nordstrands put in. Nice to have the pickguard covering the cavity so i could use either P or Jazz.
  21. Ive had comps quite a few times over the years. Always GAS driven by reading about them on here. I wouldn't say i didn't like them, more that i didn't really need them and after a short while id just stop using them. I dont know what it is about the Becos, but i feel im in control of what it does, and therefore i can get out of it whatever i want. There is some very good general comp advice on the Becos website as well, that even for me was easy to understand.
  22. At home I don’t bother with the Becos, I use the 3 band comp with some settings I got from thegearpage website, which seem to work better than the stock settings for me. Live I don’t use the Helix anyway, at least not at the moment. if anyone is intreated this is what I’m using as a starting block
  23. My Becos comp is the first comp ive actually understood how to use properly. I like that i can see what's happening and tweak as needed. Although im sure the comps in the Helix are just as good, i dont find them as easy to use. I like the simple things in life.
  24. But its a cheap way to get a good passive sounding 5 string P bass. Having gigged my active Sire V7 for a couple of years, mostly in passive mode, i have no issues doing the same with a P7 if i had one. I probably would use the preamp if needed, but wouldn’t use it much.
