  1. I'm out. Just negotiating a GK MB200 that i can use for rehearsals. Trying to cut down on gear that i take, and I found that as long as i dont take my Helix (which i dont need to) i can get everything, inc my MB800 in to my Bass gig bag. It's a very tight squeeze though so hopefully the MB200 will be more suited. Good luck to those that haven't cracked yet.
  2. Ive got a Spark. its a great pedal but not what id call a pre amp.Good at driving a preamp though. If you dont particularly want dirt or colouring the Tech 21 Q/Strip is a fantastic pre amp pedal. Very musical EQ and has the usual XLR, direct out etc. Also has a built in LPF and HPF.
  3. Perfect, thanks. This has happened a few times, although ive caught it before posting. I dont go in to the Intro forum, but when i go to start a new thread on my ipad it somehow defaults to that forum. Very strange.
  4. Cant argue there. I cant find fault with mine. It may go the same way as yours, but only because i want to use something else. The Fender is one of the best heads ive ever owned. More so for its lack of flashing lights and gimmicks, and the OD channel beats any of the drive sims in my Helix..
  5. Hmmm, that didnt last long 😉 Was also thinking the same though, but for different reasons. GLWTS.
  6. Im just surprised you put an ad up to sell your KS for half of what you paid for it 😂
  7. Sorry, l can i also get a post moved. I posted to the wrong forum again. Dont care where it goes, but it shouldn't be where it is.
  8. This just came up on my YT feed. Not great quality but a great insight to the band and their equipment.
  9. Yeah, the guy done these to post in the Talkbass Yamaha thread earlier. Quite Informative. .
  10. Gear Acquisition Contract. its what members sign when they join BC
  11. Dont get me wrong, i loved it at first. I chose this over the cheaper one as i wanted the ability to run in passive mode if needed. I gigged it almost every weekend for well over a year. Its more than a capable bass. I just felt after a while i was missing something, and i figured out the tone just wasn't for me. I felt it was a bit flat sounding. Personal preference of course. I nearly always buy my basses online, gives me the freedom to return them if i dont like them. In fact the 505 was the last bass i brought from a shop.
  12. Just noticed this. Looks more useful than the 40-50watt amps. https://ashdownmusic.com/collections/heads/products/the-ant
  13. Lovely looking Bass. I had the TRBX505 in the same finish. Its a nice bass, but i didn't get on with mine, mainly the B string, but i wasn't keen on the pups either, although I did gig with it for well over a year. Personally i prefer the BB434, but its cool that we all like different things.
  14. Love this song. One of my fav Clash songs. One of the first songs i ever learnt away from the usual School stuff. Sounds good. Singer has the right voice.
  15. In theory yep, I'm in. Thursday's are our rehearsals nights, its normally the only night we are all free. As long as we arent gigging that weekend i can cancel it. Not been to the Garage for well over 20 years (although we drive past it going to rehearsals). Last band i saw there was Cutting Crew, around the time Died in your arms was in the charts.
  16. I agree. Good balance and I liked how well the bass sits in the mix. I find with gig recordings is not always what he hope it sounds like, but if it works it works.
  17. Sorry, I forgot to post back. I didn't get over there as i was laid up with a virus. Hoping to get over there before then end of the month.
  18. Im a fan of the LED's on the foot switches. I have them off until the block is engaged. This give me a good visual indication. I do like those toppers but cant feel they would make it easier to hit the adjacent footswitch by mistake.
  19. This is my thinking. When my band of 15 years split i was glad to not have to play bass for a while. Obviously i didnt have to stop, but i wanted to. I was so used to playing live that without that reason i just didnt bother. I then got a guitar and thought id learn to play that properly, just for my own amusement. Now i had time on my hands i also got a digital multi track and was going to go back to writing songs etc. In the 6 months i had off i didnt touch the bas once, nor did i miss it. It was only when my GF/singer decided she missed it and we started up again did i pick the bass up again. Since then Ive enjoyed playing bass much more than i did in the past. I now sit at home learning all manner of songs, songs that we will never play. If the band split id continue doing this. I think i just needed a break.
  20. 'And his dynamic range is very wide, he needs to use one of those crumpressor things ....'
  21. Ill make sure to ask around the audience and see how many feel the night was ruined by your obvious lack of comp 🙂 If they all start complaining about it i guess the audience can tell after all lol.
  22. I had a lovely brown TRBX505 for about a year. I gigged it quite a bit but never really connected with it. I felt it was a bit boring, at least compared to my other basses at the time. I also felt the B string could have been better. It was usable, but lacked punch and clarity compared to the other strings. IMO of course. Looks and feel etc were spot on though, and i really do love those matt finishes.
  23. Got me knobs sorted out. Nice feel to them. The red is a bit more magenta/pink than i expected, but its still cool.
  24. 16.5 is a bit tight but those bridges are adjustable so you can get a bit more spacing. Recon i could get it close to 17mm. Are you using yours on Sat? Sell me on it lol.
