Anderton's are making it very hard to stay on the wagon... https://www.andertons.co.uk/brands/ibanez/sr-series-basses/ibanez-sr1345b-dwf-5-string-bass-in-dual-shadow-burst-flat

.....avoid coming on here. 'Real' bass players keep well away from us gear hounds lol. .

Or 'things ive sold this year' 😂

I think we need a new thread for those that have fallen off the path. I expect it will be longer than this one 😂

Thats what i wanted to replace my Quilter BB800. Ended up with a Fender rumble 800, but i may also look in to a DG M900 at some point. The Fender is nice, but lacks a bit of punch. I used my Fender and CN212 at the Hop poles on Sat. More than enough volume and low end, but i want to give my GK a go with the CN212 as well.

Spill the beans 🙂

Wow, didnt realise you had the big one. Agree though, its a bit over kill for most of us. -
Yep, new gear is new gear.

Isnt that just the norm on here when we buy something lol.

Ah yes, I should have looked first lol. Cheers both. So the 1024/5 is more refined.
-
Quick question. Are the pups in the 425 the same as those in the 1025?
-
Yeah, he has a nice clean style. I do prefer the tone of the 42* basses over the 43* in that video, but as i dont play like that its not really much help.

I did wonder if you meant 24fps, but yes, the H6 will do that as well. The GP's arent the easiest of cameras to use when in a hurry. They seem to be getting more advanced but also more complicated to find thing quickly. Agree about the LUTS. I'm not sure why I bothered paying for them, especially for what i do, but i was interested in seeing what could be achieved. Ill send you a DB link this evening. Max/H8 is a tricky one. I went for the Max because i love the fact that you dont aim the camera. I get a bit paranoid when I'm out and aim camera's at people. This way i don’t have to worry. It also means i dont need to worry about something going out of frame or making sure i keep the camera steady. Less to think about at the time. I also love the stabilisation in Hero mode. Cant be beaten, but its not good for cropping in a lot as it lacks high resolution. I'd love both but i hardly use my H7 as it is.

This video compares the 42* series to the 43* series, at leat tone wise. I'm sure this must have been posted last year, but if not.... https://youtu.be/KPiAOdGQeeY EDIT: Although i think he has the listing for the first bass wrong, as its not a 435

I thought the thread was about getting new gear, not necessarily buying it, just ending up with something new. We are all going to crack at some point, this thread is more like a confession and GAS thread now anyway lol.

GP's do 25fps. Its their base FPS If the camera is set for PAL. You can even go down to 24fps in most modes. I just checked the H6 manual (i had the H6 for about 2 weeks but sent it back when the H7 came out). I was tempted to get my 5D4 retro fitted for the cinema profile, but the cost was quite a bit so didnt bother. I tend rot keep the contrast right down and sharpness almost off so grading works better, but in all honesty I'm more likely to use my phone for video these days. Ive got quite a lot of LUT's for DSLR, inc the Preset Factory cinematic ones, but i dont tend to use them much, as i hardly shoot any proper video these days. I'm more a stills man, but they do work well. I do all my editing on my iPad, and have Lumafusion for video. Amazing app and fully supports LUT's. Let em know if you want the LUTs, happy to send them. There was quite a bit of light in my Max footage, but on the whole I'm pleased with how it came out, especially as there was no PP done to it. Ive not tried a low light test in Hero mode, and on the Max it tops out at 1080P, so not as good as the proper Hero cameras. Still fancy getting a Hero 8, although ive just spotted Insta360 have a new action camera out which is very nice.

I think you did a great job. I think the GP gives it a bit more of a live look. Works well in moderation. In the GP’s you can shoot in a flat profile, you need to go in to Protune on the camera. This gives you manual control. You can also drop the contrast etc. This is better for colour grading but can produce noisier footage in low light. It’s a fine balance.

Nice work. I think the two cameras blended in well. I think people are used to seeing GP footage now and for close up performance footage it seems very common. Like the colour grading as well.

Disappointing experiance with new basses.

Although I'm more than happy to do my own setups, i would be more worried about hidden issues if a bass really couldnt be played. High or low action i can fix, but if i was looking to try a bass in a shop and it was impossible to play (strings on the frets, neck warped badly) I'd pass. -

Nice one. Very useful. Thanks for taking the time to do that. Shame Line6 wont update the official documentation. -
Both me and the guitarist are wireless. We (she) didnt try any other channels. These things are something ill make sure she looks in to before the next gig. We have had a rehearsal with them and they worked perfectly. That was at a busy studio complex that gives me issues with my Boss WL20 system. It's not a case of HAVE, its more WANT.

Just a cheap G4M Sub-Zero UHF system. We completely lost the signal to the receiver when sound checking, so we set the monitor up. There was a lot of feedback from the mics so we turned the monitor down once we got the IEM working again. No idea what was causing the cut out. Channels were set correctly, no errors or warning on either device. Just nothing in the ears. Re stared it all and it worked fine until later , when it cuts out again. I wasnt really paying much attention to what she was doing, i was setting other things up. We normally have the monitor quite loud, but because of the feedback we had to keep it low. Im sure that part of it will be a one off, but its a bit worrying about the IEM's cutting out. Could be a bad cable etc, but on the night i couldn't terse it out.

Played at the Hop Poles in Enfield on Sat. We are only really just getting going as far as playing live goes, so we are quite loose still. Stage is boomy and room very live. Had a great time though. First time with my Berg Cab, and i cant believe how loud i was. A bit too loud i think. Bass was nice and full sounding though. and its taken me about a year to find a tone I'm really happy with. Still a slight niggle about what amp i should use. This was the second outing for my Fender head, but i want to try my GM MB800 at the next gig. I feel the GK might have a bit more punch and have a less traditional tone, but i am really happy with the Fender. Past 3 gig's have been with a Fearless F112 and while i know its a a fantastic cab, its just not been working for me. The Berg on the other hand is almost perfect. Not as extended at the low end (better for these wooden stages), but a more even output acorss the full range without needing EQ fixes. Nice to be back with a 2x12. Singer was also using IEM's for the first time, and had a few issues with them cutting out. Because she used them the monitor on stage was very low, so it was hard to hear when she was going wrong.

I always do mine, after all, no one knows what works for me other than me, but I'd expect to walk out of shop paying ticket price with a bass that is set up as close as possible to my liking. Ive not brought a bass from a shop for a few years, but those i have (and none have been expensive basses) ive always been offered a free set up before leaving.
