Haha, now there's an offer...... Dont forget i still have a Q/strip, so i really do have all EQ options covered. Actually ive gone off the Fender now, been looking in to the Genzler Magellan 800. More than i was looking to pay (if new), but more feature packed.
-
Sounds good. Not an easy song to sing IMO.
-
Cheers for the info and offer. Doubt ill take you up on it but who knows. Yes, the Amp sims are pretty useful. Most of th past 17 years ive used a BDDI in to an amp, and thats how i use my Helix at the moment. I really should play with the EQ more.
-
Thanks. Do you use Amp sims? My Helix HX doesnt have them and i know they can make a huge difference. Not looking to go back to using my Stomp, although i must admit i was happier with the tone before dropping it.
-
Thanks, I have been looking at the MB stuff as well, The plan is to see how the EQ on my F1 work first. Money if of course a concern and I'm not looking to push the boat out too far. Comparing my F1 to my GK i much prefer the GK, it just seems to have so much power in its tone, but the warmer MB tone may well work for me again. Ive had the F1 for a good few years (SA450 and LMII before that).

Thanks, tried loads of settings, some work really well, others dont. It's not that i cant get a usable tone, just that its not got a character/tone i like. I'm not gibing up on it just yet, but as i have other options already i may end up giving up on it but i really dont need 3 heads. I think the F112 is also a bit to blame, as thats quite flat and so not colouring my tone like I'm used to. That's not a complaint at all, just an observation.

Yes. Its really not the amp, its me, but i just dont get a satisfying tone with this set up. Its loud, very loud, very punchy, but i cant seem to get loud and round. I know i have loads of EQ on tap in the Helix, and at rehearsals/gig it sounds pretty good in the room, but on play back its thin, clear, even a bit hollow sounding. Its not round and full like im used to having. I guess Bland is the word im looking for. I liek the EQ, and do understand it, but its the flatness of the amps output that i think im not gelling with. I could put more work in, and im sure its in there somewhere, but i think for me, something that will colour the tone is more appropriate. I have a GK MB800 and MarkBass F1, which i have a feeling will work better, but the MB will be a bit pushed (the cab really does like a lot of power to really sound big) and the GK has a bit too much baked in tone (although i like it in moderation). Id happily use the GK though, but was just wondering what the Fender was like, as i see loads fo praise for the combos, but ive never played a Fender bass amp. I know our own Tyler Spicer loves it, and his YT review sounds really good to me.

Possibily looking for a new head, not really getting on with the Quilter at the moment, and i see a lot of talk about the Fender Rumble combos. Just wondering what the head is like as there isnt much talk of this one.
-
Damn you mr Krow 🙂 Now i really have GAS for a new GK head. I had just talked myself out of the other Legacy heads, as being too similar to my MB800, but these....... My MB800 fan is very, very noisy when it kicks in. It seems to kick in very quickly, although the head doesn't seem to get too hot. Not a problem at gigs, but even the band notice it at rehearsals. EDIT: Ah, just seen the price for the 800watt. Too much for me, I'm out.

Cool. ill have a listen later. Ive done my own between my P34 and Fender Sandblasted P, and feel the Fender has a more woody, 'Fender' tone, whereas the P34 has a slightly more scooped tone. Its more obvious as i play with a pick.

Anyone using a Mono Stealth gig bag?
dave_bass5 replied to dave_bass5's topic in Accessories and Misc
I admit i have no need to spend this money on a case, i don’t even take my Gator Transit out of the house, which is more than good enough as far as protection goes. I just fancy a top loading case, more compact than the Vertigo and something that will sit well on one shoulder. It's only money after all 😎 -
Nice pic but shows off the lack of matching headstock even more.

Nice one. If there are Windows 7 drivers on their website then you are good to go. I love my BDDI v2, although have no need for it at the moment. Ill probably never sell it though. I even use my Helix with the BDDI sim on all the time.

Anyone using a Mono Stealth gig bag?

I have plenty of basses that cost way more than £160 so for me its a non issue. The price is what it is, same with anything these day. For me its worth it because it has all the features i want. Many cheaper bags have most, but not all in one bag. -

Yeah, and it seems Mono have added this to the Stealth but didnt on the Sleeve. Quite a price difference and to be honeset its more a luxury rather than a necessity, even buying a new bag is more GAS than anything else, but hey ho, its the BC way 🙂 -

Ended up ordering a Stealth from Thomanns. Should be here by the weekend so ill update the thread with a small review. I was going to get the Sleeve, but what swung it for me was the ability to pack the straps away when not in use. All my bags have the unused straps either tied up or just hanging, as i only use one shoulder strap or the handle on them. I like the idea of not having too much hanging down. -

Thanks for the comments. I liked the Vertigo when I had it, until i found i couldn't fit it behind the front seats of the car. It was just slightly too bulky. It's only ever me that carries the bass so i dont need all the extra protection. With all my other bass I normally just use a very, very thin Levy's bag. No protection at all really, but it sits really low as on the shoulder, which is ideal. I remember getting the Vertigo over the Stealth as i planned to use my Sire bass, and the knobs stick out quite a bit and i was worried about them getting snapped off. None of my other basses would have this issue though, and i only want it for my Yamaha PB34. -
Well i did say that in jest, but I will add that IMO being a good player doesn't necessarily make you any expert on gear. You only have to look at the Rig rundowns on YT to see a lot of top players are not always in to gear, not even the stuff they earn a living with. Not saying JE wasn't in to gear, but i dont think the two always go hand in hand.

The framing is done in the GoPro app after the footage is taken. Because the camera records everything you can then select what you want the viewer to see. It's as easy as tapping on the time line at the relevant point, and then re sizing or rotating the footage with your fingers. Pinching in zooms in etc. The footage can also be reframed to different aspect ratios. It's all user controlled, hence the over done panning 🙂 and yes, apparently ladies dont sweat.....or fart 😎

Cheers. Yes, for a first attempt I think it its really cool. I need to work on finding somewhere better to attach it. Shame about the fish eye effect but it is what it is. Audio is way better than my Hero 7,
