  1. I dont gig as much now, but when we were gigging most weekends I just looked on it like work. Some good days, some bad days. Had I refused to do the bad ones I felt I was letting the band (team) down, as some of those needed the money live, so just got,on,with it. I chose to be in that situation so never complained. Life isn’t perfect, and sometimes you just need to get on with it. Saying all that, there were many time so wished I wasn’t there, but then I’d think how lucky I was to be gigging and making money from it, so again, I just got on with it. Had we not had half the band needing the money as their only main income I guess we would have been more selective.
  2. No, that’s not the answer. What I’m after is a block that’s used in more than one patch linked to a master version if that makes sense. So if I adjust a parameter in one patch the block get updated in the others without me having to cut and paste. Not end of the world of course, but it’s a feature I’d like to have. Another slight irritation is when the press down on one of the 3 smaller knobs, it resets the corresponding parameter. I’d love it if another press took ti back to how I set it. I thought it did at one point but can’t see it working. Actually, a question about that. Why, when I press down on one of those knobs do I sometimes get the parameter turn white? I’m not using any snapshots yet.
  3. Instrument. I think it’s on by default but worth checking.
  4. Press the two page buttons at the same time, then page right to take you to global settings, then on the first screen (ins/outs) scroll all the way to the right. Oh, and check you have the correct input settings while you are there. EDIT. Seen you found it already.
  5. Glad to help. I must admit I get overwhelmed with the amount of ‘master’ and ‘Level’ controls, its a bit off putting. Its nice that there is an overall one. For gigs I don’t use any amp modelling, so its not too bad. I use a default tone, with a distortion on switch one, and chorus on switch two. I then have duplicate patches with the 3rd switch set of either filter, phaser or sub octave. I use an external 2 2 switch box to change these patches depending on the song. This is why I need to find an easier way that if I adjust the basic tone (the B7K Ultra) I can get the new parameters to the other patches.
  6. Yep, same here regarding the volume knob. The lest setting to do the better IMO. I’m really impressed with how well this thing has been thought out.
  7. Its probably in Edit but I don’t use that, so I’m talking about on the Stomp itself. Scroll to the white circle at the very right hand side of the block window. You have pan and level control for the main outs. You could also try going to the left hand side and adjusting the input impedance if you are using a hot bass. I think that’s what it’s for.
  8. You can set each patch level independently. there is a level control at the very right had side of the block window. This is my way of doing it. Assuming your signal level is fine going through the blocks, then that might be a quick way of levelling things up.
  9. Will do, see you soon.
  10. This is how I’ve approached mine. As I do all my editing at home with headphones I need to know exactly where to go once I’m in a band situation, so I’ve avoided using my PC. I have hoked it up once, just to back my patches up. I really wish there was a way of setting defaults for a specific sim, and then have the ability to adjust it across a few patches. I can cut and paste, but it’s quite labours. oh, and I’m sure I’m late to the party but I noticed yesterday that the through signal doesn’t cut out if the power does. That’s pretty cool and a nice safe feature.
  11. Bas, want me to bring mine over later to test? I would have said it’s the drivers, this happens all the time with my Zoom pedals, but as you have tried a fresh pc then it sounds like it might be the Stomp. Done a hard reset?
  12. Yeah, Pete booked us. The bands called Mix it up. It was our first gig with this line up, and first one for exactly 12 months (first proper gig anyway). We have had line up issues and our new guitarist is always on holiday, so its been a case of turning gigs down for the past few months. Not a good situation but that’s for another thread. it was good play there, as I used to drink there back in the late 80’s. Who do you play with?
  13. Played at the Hop Poles in Enfield last weekend. First gig with new band line up. We were ok but the venue was empty. Something going on down the road apparently. As we have only played closed gigs in the past we couldn’t get a following along, but despite the emptiness and poor acoustics the bar staff said we were great and we will be back asap .
  14. New FW out. Just bug fixes. https://uk.line6.com/software/index.html
  15. I got the above from Amazon in Oct 2018. Ive used it a few times for rehearsals and one gig last weekend. Its in very good condition, id say as new but that can be a tricky phrase to prove. No rips in finish and no dents in the grill etc. Also has stick on feet on the bottom so that too is in great condition. Comes with a Roqsoid basic cover. Reason for selling is its just a bit too heavy for me to bother with for rehearsals, as i live on the 3rd floor of a block of flats with no lift, i need (and now have) something smaller and lighter. Ill get photos up over the weekend. I dont have a box so its pick up only from central London. Either SE1 near the OXO tower or EC1 Hatton Garden. As i live in a flat it cant be put through its paces but we can hook it up to an amp to show its working. Not looking for any trades. Price in OVNO.
  16. Interesting. Ive always needed to use a BDDI (started with a BDI-21) in front of my amps when using passive basses. When i got my 425 i stopped using it. Then i got my P34 and again, found i didnt need it. Two sonically different basses, but both with the same charterer. I definitely get a growl of sorts from both, but to my ears the P34 is more Jazz like, and neither really gets that 'woody' Fender tone. To my ears both, but more so the P34, have a sort of jazz vibe, even with just the neck pup. Its almost like when you have two pups on the jazz, with the bridge pup lowered a bit. I find it more noticeable with a pick, as the upper mids seem to be more apparent. Not a complaint at all, just an observation.
  17. Cheers guys. Ive had/have the basic Roqsiold covers in the past and they have been fine, it’s only to stop the cabs getting scratched in the car. I don’t need or want to pay extra for protection I’ll not need . Since I started this thread things have changed, and I’ve sourced a Fearless F112 instead. This was my first. choice but it seemed impossible to get one in the time frame I wanted. I loved the BB2 at first, but after a couple of gigs I felt it lacked mid punch. Now my tastes have changed, and I’ve got my old 1212L out of my system I want something lighter than I have at the moment, something I can carry with one hand so I’m more lily to use it for gigs and rehearsals. My Rs212 is just a bit too heavy to cart up and down the stairs. Having played though a F112 a while ago the seed was planted. I would have been happy with a BB2, but the F112 really appeals to me.
  18. Same here. I tired it and can see the advantage of doing it like that, but I too felt too twisted and didn’t bother trying again
  19. Yeah, i was thinking that as well. I guess i could have asked Alex if this was the case.
  20. Yeah, thats what i was getting at. I guess gigging without full PA support is a bit of a comprise anyway.
  21. I get what this thread is about, and can see why its needed, but something about this isnt clear to me. When i use my rig as the only source, so no PA support, i have to have it loud enough to get out in to the room etc. Not a problem, i can just turn it up, but how does this work if you have half your stack facing your ears? If i was to put my head in front of my cab id either blow my ears out, or at the very least not hear my guitarist on the other side of the stage. Maybe the above is an over exaggeration, but the question is, dont you have to turn down once the cab is aimed at your head? If so how does that effect the out front mix if you aren't using a PA for support?
  22. Im about to (possibly) order a BB2, it will be my second one. I know ive not been completely complementarity about my old BB2, but i feel i need to give it another go. On the BF website the cost for a cover is about ££80. Looking on the Roqsolid website it seems they do a cover for £40 (which i had one before). Does anyone know if there is a difference? Is the one from BF better? Its quite a big difference cost wise.
  23. If anyone is interested, there is a caramel BB1024X for sale in the Bass players market UK FB group. £475 ono. I want a 1024 but this one looks a bit too shiny for me.
  24. Dunno what to do to be honest. For now it’s going nowhere though.
  25. That’s a really nice bridge. Reminds me of a Gotoh 201, my fav bridge. Definitely a good idea to steer away for a BA2 IMO. Nice bridges but the ones I’ve had have changed the tone a bit too much. Since getting my P34 a couple of months ago (and now getting to warm to it a bit more) I’ve thought the fretboard looked a bit pale, like its was too dry. As the Bass was brought new I figured it’s part of the Yamaha ageing/worn in ‘magic’. I found a bottle of F-one oil in a draw this evening and figured I had nothing to lose. A couple of applications later and oh my, what a lovely deep rosewood board I have . It looks so much more classy now. Strange that a new bass, made only last year needed this, but I’m glad I did it.
