  1. Cheers. Yeah, i can still use my P2 from the Transmitter if i do get connection issues. Hopefully I’ll never need to. I tend to have a good general mix, nothing louder than anything else, so with this new system i can effectively have this mix going to 3 other IEMs if the need comes up. Assuming i can use both Headphone outs at the same time, and I’ve now freed up the monitor out on the XR18 which can also take a feed from my Aux busses. I’m going to work on convincing the drummer to use my P2 at some point.
  2. Thats the point, they are fairly close. When the band is playing they don’t even need to be that close, so much spill for the other instruments etc, but its good to know they are as good, if not better (because of the EQ options) than the P2 ive been using. Maybe i should have done P2 Vs D2.4.
  3. I wouldn't over think this. The way they were recorded was quite different. The headphone amp comes in to play for the second version, which meant i couldn't use the same levels (and couldn’t be bothered getting too anal about it). Let your ears be the judge. I can dropbox them if you really want them though. I must admit i only get the stereo Aux because i brought the XR18 lol. Now that im using the actual Aux outs and not the monitor out, i could share my stereo mix with one other, but im keeping quiet about that for now.
  4. Here are two recordings. This is just a demo off my MODX, not me playing. The DAW version was direct in to my UR22-C interface. The Wireless version was with the MODX going directly to the Transmitter, and the Receiver feeding the same interface. It's not an even playing field but you can get an idea of how close they sound. No EQ used. Both 24bit/48khz. When I went to record this I had an issue where the Receiver wasn't picking up the signal, but after a re start it was fine. Something got keep an eye on though. Direct.wav Wireless.wav
  5. A quick pre gig (post soundcheck)review of the T.bone IEM D2.4 The bottom line is its great. No regrets so far. It arrived today and i took it to tonight’s gig. First impression was how small and heavy it is. Both plus point. It doesn't feel cheap at all. No idea why oi was surprised at the size, but i was expecting it to be a big larger. It feels very sturdy and solid. The display looks great and the easy of use is very good. I looked at the manual once so far, and that was just to see what a certain icon meant. Stereo spread is good, and the L/R balance control helps to keep things sitting where i need them. There doesn't seem to be any noise (i wouldn't hear it over the band anyway). S/N is quoted as >115db for the transmitter, >95 for the reciever. Not fantastic but more than good enough for my use. I posted earlier about the EQ, there are 4 types, but there is also 4 types of Eardrive as well. A lot of EQ options in the Reciever. I’ll probably keep these off as i have my Aux EQ anyway, but it’s nice to have those many options. All make a noticeable difference. So far we havent had any isseus with drop outs. We played 3 songs, and everyone is happy. One of my guitarists is trying out the Lektar i got off Amazon, with the aim to get oen for himself. He uses the Xvive U2 and he hasnt had an issue with using both yet. Obviously this is in an empty hall, so the real test will come later this evening when the room fills up. The only negative so far is the crappy PSU’s that come with it. Very thin wires and big chunky 2 pin. It comes with two and I’ll probably get a 3 pin PSU off Amazon before the next gig.
  6. Those are the exact two units we use in the band at the moment and don’t have any issues. I’ll have to keep my head down if suddenly they start to have them 😎😂
  7. I feel silly asking this, but can’t get my head around the channel frequencies in the 2.4ghz band. I assumed they would be standard, but after a brief look at a chart on line, and the Xvive U4 manual which lists the frequencies it’s using, I’m confused. What I’m trying to figure out is if i use channel 8, should i in theory be out of the way of my singers 6 channel Xvive u4 and guitarists 4 channel Xvive guitar bug, or is it not that simple? Obviously I’m aware that other things with be using 2.4, but the above are all i can control.
  8. Might be worth contacting Mipro, as the T.bone seems to be based on their product.
  9. I guess as we have an external router a few feet from the XR18 an extension cable isn’t really needed for the Xvive that’s plugged directly in. At least it’s not been so far. As I'm now going to be using the T.bone, this will be sitting close but I’ll make sure it’s the other side of where the router is. We aren’t particularly tidy on stage so these things are just plonked down close to me on the floor in a random order.
  10. No idea, sorry. This is a page from the Mipro D2.4 manual, im hoping the T.bone version will be the same. As ive said earlier, ill probably use the EQ on my Aux send anyway, this has a graphic EQ, but i like that there are other options.
  11. Well, i bit the bullet and ordered the T.bone IEM D2.4. As its paypal i can pay over 3 months so it’s not too bad a deal for me. The main reasons are, i dont need to keep the transmitter charged or off when not used (got enough other things to look out for at gigs), the longer battery life (again, i wont need to worry if i haven't turned the receiver off), the ability to change channels, no need to use thin cables with adapters, EQ on the receiver…… and i love OLED displays lol.
  12. I may use it via the XLR’s out, but at the moment I’m using the headphone/monitor out. wWe have the XR18 pretty much at my feet, as I’m in charge of it, so it’s a bit tricky to run a cable with something so light on it to Somewhere else. I’m trying to keep things simple and neat on stage. But yeah, that’s what i was thinking of doing if needed. Seeing as my singer doesn’t have any issues with her Xvive maybe it’s not a big deal. In fact at the moment at home i have the transmitter sitting on top of the XR18 and I’m using the internal WiFi which is 2.4 and not getting any issues.
  13. Just revived the Lekato and…..wow!!!!. Nothing that small should be any good lol. At first i wasn't keen on how light it is, but then i realised that if it comes off my belt, the earphone cable will support it so it doesn't hit the ground. Im sure i wouldn't even notice if it does come off. Once i had found the correct cables to connect it to my XR18 (dont want anything to do with the thin cables it comes with) i was very, very impressed. Latency wont be an issue. I mean, i can sort of tell its there’s when playing in isolation but in a band situation it wont be noticeable at all. (Probably still more in time than some band members lol). Sound quality is better than i expected. A bit lacking in the low and highs, but i can EQ that in the Mixer without effecting the FOH, so a non issue. In fact i may just leave it as it will cut through a bit better when the band ramp up the volume. No hiss or hum so far. Stereo spread is good enough. Its not quite as wide as with my P2, but wide enough that it still sounds natural. In fact when i used it in mono it seems to give a better down mix than the P2. All in all, 99% happy. Im a bit worried about the lack of channel selection. I’ll have to see how that goes next week with the band. I noticed there is another version of this, with a different name and branding. £10 cheaper. I might see if my guitarist is interested in getting one as he is having issues with our old SubZero UHF system. It’s a mechanical issue rather than function. The receiver seems to be cutting out occasionally, as in going dead. Now, all this brings me to wonder, should i get the T-Bone 2.4 lol. I see some bugger has nabbed the used one i linked to above, so id have to pay £300. More than i really want to (this is all more for convenience and an itch rather than a real need). My reasoning now is, if my guitarist does get one of these, there might well be some issues with channels, so this would keep me out of the loop. The other 2 wireless units are Xvive, so they can move their channels if needed. Im sure 4 of use wont have too many issues. At the place rehearse there is large room that they have Gospel meetings, and we have had issues with their radio mics (apparently they have 7). We figured it all out and dont have issues anymore, but im wondering if adding fixed channel devices might cause them to return. I depend on IEM’s 100% so dont want issues like that, although the odd drop out is fine. I guess i could aways use the P2 if i do get issues. Sorry for the long winded post. Overall very happy but with caution. One thing id like to ask. Ive read numerous times that you shouldn’t put these devices within a few feet of router. I understand why. My issue would be we do have a router that sits next to our XR18, and the transmitters will be very close to that. I do have 2.4ghz disabled in the router. Is this going to help? Singer’s Xvive doesn't suffer any issues and thats plugged directly yin to the X18 already, and of course the guitarists Guitar Xvive is nowhere near the mixer.
  14. Thanks. Right, so I’ve ordered a set of the Lekato’s for £53. Arriving tomorrow. I’ve not given up on trying the Thomanns one, but these are easier to get and much cheaper. If they work they work, if not it’s easy to return them.
  15. Thanks. I might as well give it a go as i can get it off Amazon tomorrow. Quick question. Do you need to pair it every time you turn it on?
  16. Must admit latency has never been an issue with any wireless ive used on bass, but ive not used wirless IEM other than my singers Xvive (just to see if i liked mono). One of my guitarists also uses an Xvive for his guitar, and in neither have had issues with drop outs. We do now have a router on stage with a few devices connecting over 5khz and nothing on the 2.4 range.
  17. Thanks Russ. Yeah, those look identical. I’ll have a read up on the MIPRO. I do feel that 2.4 will be ok. I know it’s not just about what else is being used on stage, but there are only two other wireless systems being used in the band (both XVIVE) with no issues. Ill have a think over the weekend but i dont mind sending it back if it doesnt work out. I might try and time it so i have it when i next gig.
  18. Thanks but it looks like latency is quite high. Im coming from a wired P2 (fed from an XR18) so not dipping my toe in the water, just looking for a cheapish reliable stereo system that I can use with keys. If I was to get something like that id probably go for the NUX B7PSM. I know its had mixed reviews, but I read a few interesting ones that state the distortion in not really noticeable in a live situation, which is fine for me. Im wondering now if i should I look at a UFH system instead.
  19. Sorry if this has been discussed already, im a bit out of the loop with Stereo wireless. Just wondering if anyone has used or has a real world experience with this set up. Although I don’t need to move about when playing, im starting got find a cabled system to be a bit of a pain when I need to go to other parts of the stage and fix/plug things in for others etc. Price seems reasonable. Must have stereo. This is digital and I know the 2.4 band is congested, but higher costing systems is a bit of a struggle right now. https://www.thomann.de/gb/the_tbone_iem_d24_b_stock.htm
  20. Pretty much exactly what i said a few months ago when i got my IE100’s. Also comparing to the KZ’s. I do now have the IE400’s, which do sound a bit fuller, but I’d happily use my singers IE100’s if i lost mine and probably would get another set of IE100’s as the fit is slightly better. these are the first IEM’s i ve had where I’m not constantly fiddling with the fit, especially my right ear. i do use Comply foam tips for extra isolation and these give me a rock solid seal at last.
  21. Doesn’t the QC have an amp built in? Cant really be ampless with an amp 😂
  22. Even a different fit might do the job. I’ve had a nightmare with off the shelf IEM’s until i found the IE100’s. The fit was completely different to my previous ones and suddenly all the issue i had went away.
