  1. @Al Krow, . Seeing as i sold my other cab id need to keep hold of this anyway, but i have a feeling its going to be perfect.
  2. Still dont agree. How on earth do you know what feels uncomfortable under my fingers? Ive seen many, many YT videos showing that you bend the string before cutting it. Ive been doing it since day one (30+ years ago). Same goes for string winding. I didnt mean to come across aggressive, but i stand by my comments, there is no one way to set up a bass. Also i have never come across any set up videos showing these two huge mistakes (and mistakes i 100% agree with you about). As for ' Ok, looks like all the videos on the net are completely wrong when explaining you how to fit the strings. That's just unbelievable'. Yeah, totally unbelievable that you have never seen one video that does it properly. Having seen enough with my own eyes i wonder just what your looking at. Again, not trying not be egressive, just responding to you comments based on my own experiences, but take them as you will.
  3. Haha, no, it was me getting a bit of GAS
  4. Agree with hits. I liked the VMTD (first gen) but haven't got on with the other VMT pedals. Tried a AO earlier this year and went 'hmmmm.....'
  5. So briefly, what are these common mistakes that everyone else does? Its not rocket science. Ive been setting my basses up for decades, well before the internet started to tell me i was wrong, and ive never needed to do all that down to that accuracy you say. You make it sound much more complicated than it needs to be. its so easy to get wrapped up in all this and make it sound like a Physics course, where as feel is much more important IME. I have only once or twice set me action to closely follow the radius, and it felt wrong. Not saying you are giving out wrong info, but i dont agree it HAS to be done like.
  6. I always adjust the truss rod under tension. It’s only very small increments and it means you get almost instant results. In this video, and most others, they are aiming for a certain amount of relief. Once they hit the target that’s it, they move on to adjust the action. It’s not always that straight forward and you can go back and forth, but the idea is really to just get a certain amount of relief, and then set the action.
  7. Sorry, i missed this. Will give it a go tonight. Ive not done any splitting yet, but i have been meaning to try something. Im not quite sure how this will work though, as i want to use the BDDI always on, but kick in the drive when needed. Also keeping the Chorus and whatever 3rd effect is at the end. So far backing the Blend off a bit has cleaned up the dirt if that makes sense.
  8. haha, might have well be Halloween, some scary noises coming from those guys.....
  9. Id love it to be BDDI instead of the us al VTBass section. Cant see that happening though.
  10. Yea,h its definitely not a deal breaker for me, as long as it has an interesting line up of effects. Its the first Fly Rig with a name attached that i actually recognise. I had to go off and Google the others. . The blue one looks amazing.
  11. Same here. It was the big logo that stopped me buying a SH P bass a few years ago. Bloody ugly thing to have on there, although I get why it’s there.
  12. Just a one known comp in this head.
  13. NEVER!!!! 🙂
  14. Cant wait to buy this off you lol.
  15. As soon as i saw that i had to run to the hills........ Ive wanted one of these Flyrig things for a while, but never found the right combination of effects. Ill keep an eye on this one.
  16. Yaaaay, go pick players 🙂 Love DOA as well so both thumbs up from me. Let me know when your next at the Hop Poles.
  17. As the old saying goes, Jamerson never needed a 5th/6th/7th string, nor did he need a short scale or extra long scale, nor an active bass, nor a custom built boutique bass etc etc....... but I bet he could make all that sound better than I can lol.
  18. Cheers, I don’t think I do, but if there is a reason, I think it’s obvious...I play a Fender......🤔
  19. I don’t have anything to offer with the current lineup, but this was from a freebie charity gig last year. Our current drummer is here on backing vocals as he hadn’t rejoined at this point.
  20. Ah, so my drummer is moonlighting again ..........
  21. Yeah, same here. Thats why i cant wait to get through the gig/rehearsals, and then listen back and appreciate my skill the next day lol. Unfortunately this also involved hearing all the mistakes the others make, i get wound up.
  22. Ok. i dont go reading all the threads on here, especially ones that dont interest me so i guess i missed it, silly me lol. What i can tell you is i ran a 2x12 with just one speaker in it for 3 gigs, and had no issues other than i was (and had to be) a bit quieter. It was that or be totally silent with no cab lol. I know its not how it should be done, but sometimes in an emergency you have to adapt and overcome. It was just an idea.
  23. Well my second load of rubish was going to be what about ripping the cone material off the driver, so it doesnt make a rasping noise etc. Does that keep the impedance correct? I know the cab will be one speaker down but will it make a real world difference unless the head is pushed really hard? Again, i have no idea what im talking about but in the OP's situation i would give something a go.
  24. Im probably talking rubbish here but cant the offending driver just be disconnected until a replacement driver can be found?
  25. Thought it was just a 'grey area' 😂
