  1. Well let’s hope it lives up to it. Im sure it will sell well. I’ll wait and see more demos. Not interested in the Geddy tone as such but to does seem to be bringing something new to the table.
  2. Which pre amp and which album 🙂
  3. Wondering what people are expecting from this pedal that other pedals cant do. After all , Geddy has never used one AFAIK.
  4. I always thought the way JC wears his bass would be a bit too low for me, but once i had it strapped on it actually felt its the best way to wear it. Low and to the side. In my usual position I found the edge would cut in to my forearm after a while. I could have used it for everything in our set, but my P bass just seemed to fit better for most things and I’m not one to change basses during a gig.
  5. Its not just lack of varnish, they actually blast some of the wood away. At the moment ive got a Lakland jazz neck on it and its even lighter than with the stock neck on it.
  6. I got mine for £700 for a dealer in 2015. Very, very lucky to get that.
  7. Well it didnt in my case, and i too play 100% with a pick. Maybe you have your bass slung lower than I like it quite high. it was never a real problem as such, just noticeable and needed correcting. What i found more of a problem was the way it would tilt forward, away from me. Although my forearm would rest on it it still felt strange at first.
  8. Interesting you never had any neck dive, as its a known ‘feature’. I got a very wide grippy strap and that fixed it, more or less. I will get one again, maybe when i give up playing in bands.
  9. I love it to bits. It’s an acquired look I suppose but one the plus side you dont have to worry about surface scratches 🙂
  10. My Sandblasted P weighs around 7.8lbs. So nice to play.
  11. I too was pleasantly surprised when i got mine back in Nov. A lovely red 20th anniversary edition. Surprised that the bridge popped off when i tried to tune it after opening the box, surprised at the neck dive and surprised at how un comfortable, and painful it was on my right forearm. Also surprised at how much i loved the look and tone, and how nice the neck played :-). I really wish i could have kept it but it just wasn’t for me. The one bass i really regret getting rid of but i know it went to a good home.
  12. Not patches Bas, but actual effects themselves, and yes, Explosion was the first to go. Ive also taken off most of the reverb's and delay's. Im loving patch 27 but cant ever see me using something like that with the band.
  13. Ive just had another go with the software and i can see that without the new patches added the memory is already up around 90%. Maybe they kept a few off to keep this figure lower than 100%. Ive taken quite a few effects off, ones ill never use.
  14. it is strange but maybe these were added after production started. I kept getting a message that new FW is available, although its not. maybe its talking about these effects.
  15. Ive just loaded in the HPF and a few others using the software. it seems like its a one time operation, as they then appears in the list on the device. Its taken me almost an hour to get the software working (just once), it seems just as bad as its always been for me (on 3 different PC's). I guess the blind monkey they use to code this is still with them.
  16. Haha, nice one boys. Actually I’m not, I’m just rubbish at resisting buying cheap things and too lazy to sell things. I only use the R8 and now B1-Four. The guitar stuff is my sons, and the rest is never going to be used again.
  17. Cheers Bas. I know starting on the high G isnt ‘correct” but i feel it adds a bit of interest. I could go for a wetter tone but i find with a pick it can get too piecing on those high notes.
  18. As promised, for no other reason than it came as a surprise to me when I counted them up.
  19. Cheers DB. I was starting to figure that out but glad to know im on the right track. im getting there. Yes, i like the Z-tron as well, although i feel as i play with a pick it can sound a bit too aggressive..
  20. I got a MXR M82 last week, as well as a B1-FOUR, so this is is how ill be playing Groove is in the Heart. Still got a bit of tweaking to do with the M82, and also figuring out how to use my Zoom R8 recorder properly (not had it long). B1 patch is the stock Motown patch. Drum track just one of the R8 built in rhythms, ive not had time to get to grips with it yet. Filter Test.mp3
  21. I must admit ive not used mine since Thursday. Just seen too busy. i pretty much agree with Bas over everything he has written, although I’m not explored it as much yet. i cant comment on the HPF, as ive not used that yet. I not need it as it seems my Paradriver has a HPF built in, which should be enough. Ive never needed a HPF in all my years of playing, but i did get a Thumpinator a while ago to see what it did. Ill keep hold of it for now though. I did get a MXR M82 filter this week, and on first play i didnt think it was as good as the M-filter or A-Wah effect’s in the B1on. Unfortunately the M-Filter has been dropped from the B1-Four, but i do like the A-Wah still, and again, I find its better than the M82. The M82 has a very powerful freq boost as the filter is closing. I’m sure i just need to get used to the knobs, but i don’t find any of the Zoom filters to be as pronounced, they seem smoother and more consistent, and so may well be the way forward for me as a one box do it all (other than my Paradriver) Ive not yet plugged it in to a computer, might do that in a while and see what’s what. Ive not used my B1on with a computer either. I find the patch creation fairly easy and for me its all about getting a nice clean solid tone so i wont be playing much with the synths/delays’ etc. Ill check out that sound file in the other thread now 🙂
  22. Yeah, the drum section has been much better implemented over the previous Bxx units. As i pointed out earlier each knob controls a different parameter. With the B1on you had to scroll to each parameter, press enter and then you could adjust it. A bit long winded. Ive only every used the looper on my B1on once, and it was pretty cool but not something i would use again.
  23. Sorry, just seen this. Thanks for the info, thats good to know.
  24. Could also be DPD that delivers, who are a lot more reliable IME
  25. Yeah, wonder why Lol.
