Never heard of this before, but because you posted about it i went and had a look. Damm if this isnt what ive been looking for (but didn't know it). I can see me getting one very soon and finally getting away from my BDDI. EDIT: What the heck, just ordered one from BD. i hope this is 'the one' lol.
-
The latest BDDI has a mid knob, with selectable freq (only 2 though). It does make a big difference over the older versions. I loved my VTBass DI (never got on with the stomp box version), but i keep going back to the BDDI as it has a warmth i just couldn't get out of the VTBass.

I know many like GG but after the issue with my GK head and the response i got i wouldn't use them again. I just dont have any faith in their customer service.

Thanks Peter. I went for the 20th Anniversary JC mainly for the fact that it came with a gig bag, but the front pocket is useless so id like something a bit better.

That was the first promo video for the SD. IIR it got slated a lot back then, for not really showing off the features. Lovely looking bass though.
-
I found it very good for headphone practice, but Al is used to Zooms and they have proper amp/cab modelling, so i didnt want to go overboard on the SD praise as i know its not as goods as he already has. The killer feature for me is having 80hz boost on the low knob. I love that freq (80-100hz).

Bas, its very good for me. As you might recall i had issues with the previous one (not my first one), it hissed a lot, but the replacement is great. I only use the SD on my pedal board but as its at the end it makes a great home practice tool. I’d say the amp sim is just an EQ curve, its not like a cab sim on the digital pedals. No adjustment whatsoever, its just always on when using the headphone out (and only on the headphone out). Aux in from my iPad Pro is also good. Very solid tone. Obviously its bypassing everything in the SD, just in and straight out.

Get in touch with GG and demand a uk one. Thats what i did with both of mine (first one from G4M). Both did arrive with adapters though, it wasnt that i couldnt use them, i just wanted proper UK ones. I spoke to TCE and they said the uk purchased ones should come with proper UK adapter.

What is it with BC and hostility??!

My point is there used to be a larger group of mature minded posters, which gave a better oval feel to this place. it seemed a closer community back then. -

It left when a lot of the long standing members left. Still one or two that think they are the dogs nuts, but should know better. Not a great place here these days, although it still has its uses. -
So, I’m thinking about a new head, Class D with a valve pre....

wow, that is quick. Seeing as im putting an hour or two each day playing at the moment i think i best plant a tree in the window box lol. -
Agree, i prefer the Orange to the yellow, although i love my red F1 even more. i wouldn't let the look put me off, but i know the price will.

Thanks mate but i think ill forgo the wooden ones for now. I think you mentioned those Dava picks in another thread, and i did get a pack of them. I have been using them since but want to try some thicker picks. Ive also got some Wedgie 3.1 rubber picks arriving next week. Ill have another look at the Dava range if the Wedgies dont work out. I did get a pack of Jazz 3 carbon picks that were so small after 5 second i gave them to my son. -
The guys clearly sates he is looking to start a band, so why would he provide mics for everyone? Where do you get the idea he wouldn't have a mic? He says if others have a microphone.

it was a lovely bass, but i had (still have) a Squier CV Jazz which i love the tone of, and the DJ5 was just not that tone. Even with a pup change (Nordy's) and the PJ conversion it sounded too warm for me. That was back then though. listening to live recordings of it i made a bad decision getting shot of it. No GAS for basses these days though, so im happy to talk about them 🙂 -

Wooden ones are/were next on the list, but if they wear down quickly maybe not. -

Very nice. my first encounter with Lakland was a 55-01. I had never heard of them before but saw about 10 of them in the Bass Centre when i was out looking to get my first real gigging 5 string. I got this over a Sandberg. It was a nice bass and my first time gigging with a 5 string. I had three Duck Dunn's over the years, and a DJ5 that i got converted to a PJ. I really didnt get on with the DJ5 though, but wish i had kept it. i found the DJ5 to be a bit dark and warm, which wasnt what i was looking for at the time. -

99% pick player but trying to get away from the 'click' and thinner sounding G string. Having a bit of an experimental period at the moment. I recently got some felt picks, which i love the tone of, but are a bit slippery to hold. And yeah, maybe i should just practice with my fingers more 🙂 Love Laklands. Ive had 4 in total, but never a USA one. I even have a JO4 neck at home that i sometimes put on my Fender style basses. -

Ah Nuts, I’m out. Just ordered a packet of leather plectrums. Never used one before and fancied a go. -
Ped. I know you posted a phone screen shot, but if you go to their website it tells you where the item is in stock (warehouse in Sweden). Also i would assume no matter where it is they give you a delivery date so you can choose to buy or go elsewhere. Pretty all up front IMO, but frustrating nonetheless. Been using them for years without too much hassle, and certainly less hassle than ive had from music shops in the past. They are always my first port of call for something (if Amazon dont have it) My issue with supporting brick and mortar stores is it needs to go both ways. If im shopping with you, make it worth it. I understand shops have rents etc, but so do i, and like a shop, want to make the most of my limited funds. ive tired to buy from PMT at Old street a few times. each time ive gone in its been a case of 'we have it at our other branch, we can get it in for you'. I might as well just order on line rather than get a shop to order it for me. Saves me making another trip. EDIT: Oppps, sorry, didnt see a page two to this thread. Seems like it was pointed out about location.

GK MB800 DI stopped working, or maybe never did. GK want me to get it working. Less than 3 years old, hardly used. Also had issues at gigs with it not producing any noise for first 10mins. Wouldn't trust it at a gig anymore. MarkBass F1. Brought second hand off here many years ago. Never had any issues with it in over 500 gigs. I dont have this now, but Epifani UL212. Terrible quality. within 6 weeks of owning it, from new, a handle fell off at gig, had to replace both drivers and on one gig had to use gaffa tape to get one of the drivers working. Never gain.
