  1. Seen it a few times, both on stage in the west end and TV. love most the songs so its palatable. My company has been printing the music scores for the tour of this show so i have the scores for it. My son is learning a few of the songs at the moment.
  2. Same here. No only does he waffle on for ages, i got loads of emails from him as soon as i signed up to get a ‘free’ PDF. I had to unsubscribe within a couple of days just to stop the emails i had no interest in. I love the titles of his videos, but find he takes so long to get to the point i never reach it.
  3. What i would do is turn the MXR 90degrees, and move the tuner so its sitting long ways at the top of the first pedal. Then as others have said, you could easily get a TC Corona mini on there.
  4. I have both the P and Jazz Classic vibes (still use the Jazz) from the first run. As others have said, its just bits of wood and a few pieces of metal. The reason i would still go for the old versions is they had smaller frets. I find these much nicer to play than the usual Med-Jumbo frets. Not a deal breaker if i was buying new, but definitely a preference that woudl sway me towards the old style.
  5. Sorry to all who enquired about this. After getting over the GAS for a new bass i no longer feel the need to sell this at the moment.
  6. Just put some CS 60’s pups in my original CV Jazz, so no plans on getting one of the newer ones yet. Looks like they have dropped the small frets that the originals have, so anther reason i wont bother. Had i not already got a CVP and Jazz though, I’d be very tempted.
  7. Well yes, she is putting a show together. Everyone starts somewhere don't they? Could be its just bad English, could be she doesnt own a mic yet, could be she doesn't know how things work. Lots of bands gig with house PA’s that supply mics, and lots of bands starting out dont. always need to buy mics. Rehearsals studios have them, house PA’s will have them. Maybe she would expect a PA to come with a mic. I know a few musicians (myself included) that own a PA, inc mics that the band use (none of the backing singers in my old bands ever owned mics). I also know bands that dont own a PA and either hire one or use a supplied one. I dont get why its getting more and more common on here to start threads and rip people apart. I thought us bass players were the good guys, or at least that what bass players tell me on here. Just my thoughts of course.
  8. Looks to me like he/she is just asking for a sound person to help put on the show. As they seem to be putting a show together why wouldn't they want a PA?
  9. I think that as well. As much as i love white basses i was really impressed by the Matt black when i tried one of these.
  10. And Squier have been known to use slightly non-standard Fender style parts.
  11. Cheers guys. I had seen that photo but there was no guarantee its accurate, you know what product shots can be like (and depth perspective). i asked over on TB as well and someone confirmed the sizes, so i have a pair arriving tomorrow.
  12. On hold pending the usual.
  13. Hi Andrey. Sorry but I’m not happy to deal with a 3rd party company sending you the bass. Only face to face with the buyer I’m afraid.
  14. Cheers Bas (looking cool there). I think ive seen that or at least one or two tracks form that session/gig. I think the bass sounds great in the mix, and im finding more and more that's where it really counts for me. As far as pups go, spending £1150 on a bass and having to spend more on changing something is not appealing to me at all, so i'd live with whatever it came with. Saying that, ive heard good things about the black labels. if i was getting the bass custom built those are what id go for.
  15. Yes, good price for something that also has dots on the fretboard. Its not that i need the dots, i just don’t like the look of fretboards that dont have them. Its definitely a visual thing.
  16. Cheers Cuzzie. Its actually on Thomanns website for immediate dispatch. Ive been put off buying one in the past by the lack of fret markers on the fretboard (I know that can be ordered with them for extra), but this one has them, and I love the finish on the body. Its closer to my Sandblasted Fender than a normal goss finish. Love the black hardware as well. I’m still thinking if it s worth buying (£1145), considering I’m happy with what i have, but i keep going back to it.
  17. I just cant find any info on the size of the Fenders. Maybe it is the norm and they would say if it was otherwise. ill send an email to Fender and ask. Cheers.
  18. Ive had this Cali II in my basket for two weeks now. I just cant decided if I should get it. I have no doubt its a fantastic bass, and i really, really love the look of it, but i keep reading mixed comments about the pups.
  19. It changed the tone, but i could never get the right balance.
  20. Well to be fair, i said I had the amp flat, not that the tone was flat. I realise all knobs at noon is not always flat, but it does work as a reference point when hooked up to other cabs, or using other basses. Keeps the playing field even. IMO the cab is just part of the tone chain.
  21. I think my problem with my BF cabs was that i didnt have enough mid range. The lows seemed to overpower the rest in both my BF cabs. Not that they weren’t there, just that i didnt find it pleasing. Over the years ive pretty much stuck to P and jazz basses, on the whole. Tend to use my amps mostly flat (although I’m not saying the tone is flat). Ive used many cabs with these heads and basses. I have no idea what true ‘flat’ sounds like, but I do know what i like when I hear it. I just found using the BF cabs produced a low end heavy tone compared to most of what I’ve used. If this is ‘flat’ or ‘neutral’ then it’s just not for me. I firmly believe flat or neutral is not always what its cracked up to be. Finding the right combination is not easy.
  22. Same here. At first it was great, but i started to notice i was tweaking the EQ more, but was never satisfied at gigs with how it projected me. Seemed to lack a bit in the mid range. Maybe I’m just more happy with a cab like my RS212 that does colour my tone more. These ‘flat’ Sounding cabs aren't always a good thing IME.
  23. Agreed. very talented bunch of people.
  24. Thanks for the reply. Ill have a look at those. I just remembered that Seymour Duncan do a set (as i used to have them).
  25. I’m looking to replace the Wizard 74’s i have in my Squier CV Jazz, and noticed they are different sizes. I’d love the Fender CS 60’s but cant find any info about the size. I’m assuming they are both the same. Soooo, can anyone give me some ideas about what sets come as 2 sizes? Ive seen that EMG list a set but I’d like other options. I just cant get any real info from most of the manufacturers websites. Cheers.
