  1. Cheers Guys. Jens has sorted me out and im very grateful to him. Thanks for the other offers. BigRedX. Did you read the first post? That explains why i asked. .
  2. You would think that, and i did as well, but it’s a bit more long winded than that.
  3. Well yes and no. I have the prue wave files and the Logic arrangement files, but i cant open the latter. All i can do is try and figure out what Wav files are what, and create a new song mix in soemthing else. I tried but its a lot of guess work as the wav files are all mixed up, and not all complete tracks so its difficult knowing where to place them. Yes, all I’m after is to get the mixes, as they stand, but with no bass on them. I dont have a Mac so i cant open them in anything. Thanks for the offer, ill PM you now and send you a link to the folder in Dropbox if that’s ok. No hurry and if you cant at least you tired. As i now have these files on a PC I’m not sure if that messes with file extensions etc.
  4. Yeah, I appreciate £300 isnt going to get me a perfect payer, but it should at least beat the Harley Benton we have (which i find ok anyway).
  5. Ive had the amp for a couple of years, and had a bit of trouble with it not producing any noise for the first 10-15 mins of powering it up. Pretty sure ive posted about that before so im not going to ask about that. We went in to the studio last week and for the first time i used the XLR out, or at least wanted to. With the pre EQ button engaged i got no signal at all out of it, with it set to post there was a very quiet distorted tone. ive tried different leads and used the same lead fo rmy Markbass amp and the leads are fine. The speaker outputs work fine, so its just the DI. Having spoken to Guitar Guitar (who i got it form) they have suggested talking to GK directly, as ill have to pay for the repair (i think not). Ive not opened it up yet, might do that tonight, but im wondering if its worth it or i just need to get GK to sort it. it could be just a lose wire, but knowing my luck it wont be as simple as that. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this issue.
  6. Have you seen the Source Audio programmable EQ pedal? Looks very versatile, but might be out of your price range though. https://www.amazon.co.uk/SOURCE-AUDIO-SA170-Programmable-EQ/dp/B005PQ1AIU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1531119673&sr=8-1&keywords=source+audio+eq
  7. I know this is a long shot, but my band have just done a demo which I’m not happy with. We did it in logic 9 and I have all the files. I’m after getting a copy of the mixes without any bass. We are going back in to tidy this up but i want to try and do the bass parts again. I thought if i can get the bass removed from what we have it will be easer it to work things out. Our drummer was a bit off that day but it will be easier for me to re do my parts rather than him. Happy to pay soemthing for this. Cheers.
  8. Ive not actually owned a guitar for about 40 years. The last one was a Craftsman Les Paul. I brought my GF a Fender acoustic a few years ago,and my youngest son has a Harley Benton Strat (not good IME). We decided he needed something better to learn on, and i want a guitar to play around on. So, I ordered a Contemporary Strat, with two single coils and one humbucker. Seems like a decent enough guitar. I know there are many, many options in the £300 price bracket but i do like the tone a strat produces, and the added bonus of a HB only makes it more versatile...hopefully. Its only for home use and I’m not going to be playing with a band. My son still favours drums (god forbid) but happy to play anything i give him Just wondered what, if any, peoples option of these are. It won’t arrive until end mid week but I’m hoping ive made a good choice. Oh, and i guess this is my first post in this section. Never really noticed it before.
  9. I wouldn’t hesitate getting it from him, had I not read the post by Ashdown in the thread about these. It seems they are saying there are faulty units around. Id rather not have use eBay if there is a chance i may need good after sales service, and certainly not from a non UK seller, as its just extra hassle I don’t need.
  10. Hmmm, Less than £200 and not that horrible wood colour https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ASHDOWN-B-SOCIAL-75-WATTS-MULTIPURPOSE-AMP-BLACK/223046225182?hash=item33ee974d1e:g:H2YAAOSwrRJbPdCu
  11. Not according to some on here 😉 Back to the topic. I find the pedal that makes the most difference to my ears is my BDDI, but id say the one that would get noticed is my Phaser. Im over using it a bit at the moment though, as it fill out our mix really well.
  12. Hold on, i thought the crowd were incapable of noticing the bass player's tone 🙂
  13. Ah cool. Ill let him know. Strange that Asdown didnt tell him this on the phone though. Having just read the thread about these i can see even £250 isnt that great compare what they were going for. Id be quite tempted if it was one of the other colours, but i dont like the one in the link.
  14. I know someone who got one from this seller. He is more than happy with it for what it is, a practice amp. One issue he had is the wireless part didn’t work. Apparently after so many months of not being used they transmitter will need to be re-paired with the amp. There is no easy way to do it, no paring button. He ended up taking it to Ashdown to get this done, although he said that was because the guy that knew how to do it wasn’t there at the time he called, and he doesn’t live far from them. Yes, they are genuine Ashdown amps.
  15. I have emailed Line6 but not heard back yet. I have a feeling ill end up supergluing the plate back in and keeping a cable tie around it. I used it all day yesterday (tapped up)and it still works fine, so i think ill just have to live with the slight inconvenience. its not a write off yet.
  16. Totaly disagree with that, but each to his/her own (except the bit about the Damned, they were the stars of the evening).
  17. After reading so many negative things about the door, mine has been 100% reliable for a few years......until tonight. I got my strap out of the bag and the transmitter door just fell off in to 3 pieces. Looks like the metal plate supports have broken. I can put it all back together again but there is nothing keeping it together unless i tape it etc. I know its been asked before but did anyone ever get thier door replaced? Ive found the part number for the door itself, but the postage will be way more than the door if i get it from the USA, and it’s only the plastic door itself anyway, so no guarantee the metal plate will just clip back on. Im aware of the workarounds, but I’d rather get it fixed properly.
  18. Oh a whim recently i brought a TCE Helix (phaser). Haven't owned a Phaser since the early 80's, and never for bass. i thought id use it on one song, maybe two. Instead ive found it brings the bass to life and i soooooo over use it. Other than that, i guess my Fender Sandblasted P bass has been a huge hit. Until i got it i had been putting my Squier CV Jazz neck on my P basses, as i dont really like P necks as much. I was apprehensive about buying another P bass, but i found the neck to be just perfect. Ive not given it another thought since the first play.
  19. I just find it a safety net when recording my band. I try and set the levels low enough so that the limiter doesn’t kick in, but as I’m down to 3 out off 100 and still there is a lot of level it’s nice to have. When I get the files in to Audition they don’t seem clippped or maxed out, so I guess its all good.
  20. Interesting about the SPL factor on the Zoom units. While my Tascam does really well I have the input level set at 3/100 and even then I use the limiter function to stop it overloading. This is just a 4 piece in a med sized room. My old Edirol RH recorder has a mic atanuation button that really helps keep things under control as far as level input goes. That’s the one and only feature I miss from it. I’m not sure if using the input level so low effects quality, it doesn’t seem to, but it shows that this thing isn’t great for the exact thing they advertise it for.
  21. Or any compact cab really. I had one of those and couldn’t find a place to wrap it around on my rig. Evened up giving it away on here Same goes for this, although I do use it occasionally
  22. Been around for ages. Not cheap and doesnt seem to be too popular. http://bassmute.com/
  23. VPN's are also good for getting around Youtube geographical restrictions. I used to think there were a lot of YT videos that wouldn't play until i started using a VPN. Also good for getting around websites that are blocked by your ISP.
  24. For some its Spend a fortune on boutique basses i need, because i cant play on anything other than hand built basses, but never leave the bedroom with them, so spend more money on basses that im happy to take to gigs (and amazingly, i can play them)
