  1. Blimey, imagine if they weren't good friends. Gotta love BC for this type of crap. In the real world friends support friends, not make threads about it expecting strangers to tell you how to behave.
  2. Yes, i got the one in the classifieds. Im not sure how much ill use it but for £20 its worth a shot. My only issue is where to put it on the board, as i dont really have space to place it in a way i can hit the switch. Ill have a think. Im very happy with all that i have, but yes, still going to get the Spectradrive. This might actualy be a solution to my secondary dive issue. I can take off the Spectracomp and replace it with this, so ill get another switchable drive. I can just squeeze this on once the SC has gone. I do still prefer real knobs over having to program something. I feel the Spectradrive EQ will be as useful as the Q/Strip. I just need ot hear the SD OD tone before i go ahead and get it.
  3. Pretty much what i was doing for the past 13 years. Just using a 1 Spot wall wart PSU has been more than enough for a wireless receiver, a comp, a pre amp of some sort (Darkglass or Tech 21). It was only at christmas when i got my Cali that i needed more (18v), so got the Cioks DC5. Although i now dont have the Cali its a very neat solution for a modest pedal board like mine. Fits perfectly under the Pedal Train Nano+. Having the small board also means im not going to run out of power outputs. No, ive got the Cioks DC5. the HB does look interesting though.
  4. im really loving my AS. It was brought as an on/off dirt boost, but ive found im using it on almost all the time. Just for a bit of warmth and a bit more 'something to help cut through'. I was about to buy another pedal (or god forbid, put an existing one back on my board), when i found out about the Tap Tempo add on. This cheap on off switch allows me to change patches on the AS with a secondary foot switch. It effectively adds a second foot switch to the AS. Between the two switches i can have up to 6 pre-sets on tap, without bending down to flip the switch. Even better, it allows me to switch in a secondary patch on top of the always on patch. Pretty neat.
  5. Have you looked at the many Comp threads that have been active on here over the past few weeks. They are hard to miss, and their numbers are growing every day ;-). Im surprised anyone needs to ask anything about comps now with all this information to hand.
  6. If the Tap tempo is still available ill take it. Ill PM you now.
  7. So i guess by the time i sell my Spectradrive you will be ready for it lol. Glad its working out for you though. I find compressors very boring, but i guess that's the idea. Set and forget and no one will notice...(opp's, wrong thread :-)
  8. 30+ years with a pick and im having the opposite issue. I really want to play finger style but just cant get the speed up. Im ok at home but once with the band i struggle too much.
  9. I bet your cab on mine would look like a letter box lol. I had 2 BF cabs before this, both good cabs but not for me. Ill say no more, its in the past.
  10. Its the light and WB. They are very close, although the MB is a bit more shiny :-). That's the Italian in me
  11. Ive only just started to get a more woody tone since getting my Q/strip. Its amazed me how much variation in tone i can now get from a lowly passive P bass, even with OD engaged earlier in the chain.
  12. Inline for me. Although i keep the amp pretty much flat, the extra EQ available from the amp is useful if i need to tweak freq's the BDDI doesn't have.
  13. PM replied to. Offer too low im afraid.
  14. Maybe its for the emperor, to go with his new clothes :-)
  15. I’m confused. If its said you cant obviously tell if a good compressor is working, how can you tell if its not, especially in a band mix?
  16. Cheers mate. Gotta make the effort eh?
  17. Had a few silly offers. Now open to sensible ones.
  18. This is the setting i use, also in to the BDDI patch. I just love this tone. Its only in to headphones at home though, but it was my stock B3n tone for ages until i started using my pedal board in to the B3n. @Al KrowYour going down the exact route i went a few months ago. The Cali will (IMO) blow the B3n comp away, but in my case, for home playing, it was never enough to warrant getting the Cali hooked up. Most of the time id just use the B3n comps with their default settings, and quite liked what i heard, but the dBX just seemed to be less noticeable and quieter.
  19. Thanks for the PR lol. Yes I will get one. To me this pedal does a few things I want, but not too many (like the B3n) that makes me feel I’m undersuing it. It’s not going to be a cure to any problem, but it will definitely have a use. I guess ill wait for a video review or two, just to make sure there isn’t a hidden issue, but on paper its going to be ideal.
  20. GK MB800 fits the bill IMO. Small and very light, 800watt (not sure how loud that really is), and not quite as coloured as i thought it would be before getting it. Probable not as warm compared to some, but through my Vanderkely 1x15 it has a very clear, tight low end.
  21. I agree. if you are after just a basic feature set then this thing is definitely a contender Ive looked at other things like the PLEX, and although it offers far more, i dont think its quite as useful for live use, or more its overkill As its listed at $199 i guess its not really unexpected. Its still cheaper than a BDDI and seems to offer a bit more. Ive still got my BDDI and Pork Loin to sell so i can easily afford it.
  22. Hmmm, a bit more than i hoped to pay. https://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/TC-Electronic-Spectradrive-Bass-Preamp-and-Drive-Pedal/2CHD
