Seems like 'our' drummer is in more than one band ;-(

Ever since i upgraded my Iphone 6S to a 8 Plus ive had real issues with both my tone print enabled TC pedals. Ive had to resort to using the old phone just for this. Old phone works perfectly.

Actually i can cope with it not being 'much' fun. As long as i enjoy the gigs and get paid im pretty much ok. Obvious having a lot of fun and getting paid is better, or even having a lot of fun and note getting paid (i would do it for nothing if i had to, as long as it interested me). My biggest issue was the miserable gigs we were now getting, due to lack of pushing the band forward, the others not wanting to change the set or put in new songs, and the obvious lack of wanting to be there from one or two of them. IME all it takes is one or two members moaning about things to bring the whole 'vibe' down. Thats when its not fun, especially as it was me getting the gigs.

This mirrors my past 13 years with the same band. We were all mates at the start, but after the cracks started appearing a big rift in the band appeared, and it became a chore. I wasn't goin to leave as i enjoyed gigging still, so i persuaded those that weren't enjoying it to leave, so the rest could carry on. Me and the drummer kept it going for another two years before he to jacked it in. This was down to us never really finding the fun with the new members that we wanted.

Using Velcro its easy to get round that :-(

Cheers. I’m not sure I will play as much with it as I have other pedals in the past. I play mostly with a pick but have always struggled to get a fuller finger type tone. I’m going to concentrate more on this that overal tone shaping. It will be used always on after my Cali and before my Pork Loin. It’s the she’s of an old band. We split in dec 2016 and I had was enjoying my Sat evening back, but my singer (and GF) was getting twitchy so she put a few ads up. That was may last year and we are still struggling to find a band we feel happy with. The guys we have can talk the talk, but the end result has been anything but inspiring. So, I’m hoping we will gig this year but things are going very slow. We are just doing the standard covers at the moment, nothing that really needs anything special sounding from the bass, but its nice to hear a nice tone once in a while

Haha, cheers. Ive just got the refund from the DK Vintage Ulta, so I’m actually £50 in credit still. If it works out ill sell the BDDI and VTBass, so ill easily break even. Should be here tomorrow and I have a part band rehearsal tomorrow night. Cant wait to get to hear it. I had the Para driver in the past, and while I loved it I found I was forever tweaking it. Too many EQ options and I never really settled on anything. I had to sell it for pice of mind. I’m just hoping I don’t go the same way with the Q/strip. Now I have a pedal board and don’t put my pedals on the amp it will be harder to keep playing with it, so that’s a good thing. I don’t tend to play with the BDDI EQ much anyway.

Well keep an eye on the classifieds :-)

I've just ordered one of these (on a whim). My Mate has just got one and raves about it, even his Dingwall sounds better apparently. Hoping it will replace my BDDI. I realised ive been using the BDDI mainly for EQ, as i have a Pork Loin for dirt, so having even more EQ is going to be fantastic.......in theory. Not a cheap thing to buy just for a bit of EQ, but it does look lovely IMO, especially those red knobs lol. Oh, and @dood, yet more money spent after watching one of your video reviews ;-)

I scoured central London for a Cali76 on 23rd Dec. I HAD to have it there and then, even though i had no gigs or any real urgency to get it. GAS is not a nice thing.

I didn’t suppose anyone is using a GK Plex with ipad? I had a quick play on one today and fell in love with it (over my B3n). I almost ordered one but ive read that there could be an updated version coming soon, or maybe its just a FW update. Seeing as i own a MB800 this might be just the ticket.

Nice one. Although it works perfectly well with GB my preferred Amp sim app is Ampkit. This has not only the usual SVT/Fender style stuff but also Peavey/Ashdown and TE rigs, plus BDDI sim.

This is the underside of my first and only pedal board. It’s bee tidied up a bit since I took this, but I’m quite pleased with the lack of mess.

Being the indecisive bugger that i am, ive sent the B1on back. I spent a lot of time with it yesterday, and loved using it, but i couldn't get rid of the top end that every thing seemed to have. As i play with a pick it became quite annoying. Switching back and forth between this and the B3n showed the B3n didn't suffer from this. Both sounded good but the B3n just seemed a bit more usable to my ears. Also the BDDI patch on the B13on, with the drive up, was horribly noisy, whereas the B3n wasn't anywhere near this. Glad i tired it though.

On a whim me and the GF got tickets to see The Hollywood Vampires at Wembley later this year. I quite like the covers they have recorded, plus the Darkness and the Damned are supporting. Should be a loud night.

The headstock is the reason i have never owned a G&L bass, which is a shame as i know they are good basses.
-
Nah, i do a lot of research on YT etc, so i wouldn't just go by one recommendation, although you did put the idea in my head. I really like it, and if i didn't have the B3n i wouldn't even have commented. It was just a shock when i first plugged it in. Without a bass on the end its really, really loud. The B3n is more or less silent like this. Once im playing along to my ipad its all fine though. The patch i wanted to set up didnt seem to work as well, with all the parameters the same on both units, but most of the B1on pre-sets seem to be quite usable once i tamed the drive and level settings. I like how the amp sims have the cabs built in to them, whereas the B3n doesn't. The B1on also seems to have a few FX/sims that the B3n doesn't have. As long as i keep away from bright settings its all good. Its not like ill use it live so just one comp/amp patch is really all ill need.
-
Changed my mind. It’s not as bad as I thought, once i got the levels sorted out, and after going back and forth between the B1on and B3n i actualy prefer the tone of the B1on. It’s a shame the extra noise is there but its not going to be intrusive.

Lovely pair Michael :-)

I used to have one. I had no complaints but i had to sell it when i switched to a lightning port ipad. The new cable was just too much to pay for and i really wasn’t using it much anyway. I now have a iRig HD and to be honest i cant hear any difference, although thats just from memory. I’d go for the cheaper option asked on previous experience, or maybe the newer version of the iRig.

After just 24 hours I’m sending my B1on back. Tone wise I think its nicer than my B3n. The tones seem richer and deeper, without the slight low end mud i feel my B3n has (on headphones at least). But the noise is not something I cant live with. There is a slight buzzing sound on most of the patches, and a lot when i use more high gain patches. Although i can get it down it means using EQ or changing the tone i want. I know its only £55 so there will be compromises, but as i have the B3n as well ill stick with that for now. I have tried different cables/headphones and tried both battery and PSU.
-
Really? On my ipad once GB is set up with an amp sim running and in the background i dont need to open it agin unless i want to change the tone etc.
-
Got one of these the other day and i was expecting got hear more or less what my B3n produces. I’m was surprised at Howe ‘buzzy’ this is. Soem of the built in patches are very, noisy, and these don’t even have any OD or high gain. In fact even without a bass on the other end of the lead the unit is very noisy. Turning the master level down helps, but I’m wondering if this is normal. It’s definitely noisier than my B3n. Just running off batteries so no mains noise etc.
