1. Thanks but Ive figured out i can do it all from one patch, and changing patches is what I'm trying to get away from. As you can have up to 7 slots, but only 3 controlled any foot switches at any one time Ive got the BDDI on slot one, always on, and slots 2-4 active with the foot switches. Its a lot more gig friendly than the old B3. I can see me using it a lot more. In fact Ive got my first outing with it tomorrow. I also just tried my One Spot PSU and that works as well, so all in all very pleased with this new box.
 2.
.Worst ad you posted for a while Blue
Wow, you mean this isnt the first of this type of thread? What a pathetic thing to do. It used to be a friendly, helpful place here until a few years ago, and now we have threads like this where everyone wants to bitch and slag other people for no reason other than sport., Its pretty obvious Americans think and talk in a different way to those in the UK (otherwise we would nt have this thread ;-) and picking out every other word and analysing it gets us where? No wonder the old crew dont post on here anymore.
 3.
I'll be posting this type of an exercise on a monthly basis Blue
Why?
 4. The two sets of Bose BT headphones i have will also work wired, and i made sure of this before buying them for exactly the above reason. Forget BT if you need low latency.
 5. 2x 5 String Wooden Steinberger basses from MusicYo!. I ordered one and the delivery was all cocked up. They sent a new one out and said its free of charge (i already had the refund). A couple of weeks later the original one turned up, and they said i could keep that as well.
 6.
My favourite strings, and I've tried most over the years. Always come back to these, last a good time for me and love the tone / feel. EXL170's suit me just fine.
Same here, although these days use the balanced tension sets as i find them a bit more comfortable.
 7. Well there we have it, differences of opinion. We all have 'em and that makes the world go around. Whatever the reason for using them, the fact is i tihnk they distract from the overall visual of a live band, and if its just one or two gives the impression of using deps and not a complete band. Actually i can understand horn or string sections using them, it seem to be the norm. Im talking more about guitairs/basses etc. Again, thats how i feel but im sure no one cares less :-)
 8.
We have sax player who tells us he has been playing Hard to Handle for various bands for nearly 50 years. Should I ask him why he can't play it without looking at his notation?
Because after playing for 50 years he still hasn't got it right lol. I cant stand bands who have soemone with a music stand on stage. If you cant be bothered to put the time and effort in like the rest of the band, at the expense of looking Ike you haven't, then you arent the right person. I know that sounds harsh, but ive seen so many bands where one or two members spend all night looking at their music stands and i find it looks very unprofessional and makes them look like they arent part of the band. I know some people play with lots of bands, with different arrangements etc, but even so, thats no excuse for not putting in the hours. We got rid of our last guitarist as he was always looking down at his iPad.
 9. When i ask Micky Chow about this he said Sire decided not to supply bags to European dealers like Thomanns because they prefer to use thier own branded bags.
 10. Cheers guys. Ive ordered one anyway, as i think (hope) ill have better luck with this one. I dont have to use a DG emulation, but ive always fancied trying a BK7 so this seems the ideal opportunity. I find my VMT a bit dark sounding anyway, so was going to drop it from my live set up. One other question (i will start reading the manual tonight). My idea is to set up a mild warmth, maybe the BDDI as i like that effect, possibly a compressor as well. Thay would be always on like my VMT is now. Id then like to set the 3 foot switches to have TC Crona, BK7 and a filter pedal. Am i right in thinking i can do this so i can turn the 3 on and off at will without touching the others? Sorry, one more. Can i use my 1 spot PSU with this box? id just be running the B3n and my G6 receiver off it.
 11. Can anyone comment on how the DarkGlass BK7 sounds? I appreciate its not going to have the warmth of the real thing, but ive been wanting to add more dirt to my tone for a while, and while i like my DG VMT id like something that can get dirtier when needed, at the press of a button, whilst also staying on to give some warmth all the time. I was going to use my 60B along side of the VMT, but it looks like the B3n could well be the one box solution, especially as i was also going to start using my TC Corna as well.
 12.
There was actually one small disappointment. It didn't come with one if those nice gig bags...
When i got V7 (when they first came out) I emailed Sire about the bags and they sent me two free of charge (i had planned on getting a second V7, but haven't bothered yet). Now THATS good customer service :-) I see that Thomanns sell them for £60 now. They are nice bags but nothing you cant get close to for less money if you actualy need a bag and not just looking for a complete package.
 13.
Seriously thinking of selling my Am Syd Jazz and getting one of these. Only concern is the necks - are they thin? Thick? As comfy, more come or less comfy to play than a Jazz? This is the problem with mail ordering a bass. Spose now that Andertons do them I can send it straight back if it doesn't feel good.
Funnily enough I was going to post this question as well. Although Ive got the 5 string I'd like to get the 4 string as well. To me the necks look chunky (for a jazz neck) but that could be to do with the blocks and binding. I really like the tone of my 5 string but don't need the extra string, so want to replace my Squier CV jazz, which Ive been playing a lot lately. I'm sure I won't have any issues with the 4 string neck, but was going to ask, as my CV jazz neck is the most perfect neck Ive every used so I was wiondering how close the Sire might be. Also has anyone changed the bridge on the 4 string? I noticed the string spacing is 20mm, but all my other bases have a Gotoh 201 which is 19mm and a bit more comfortable. Was also thinking I'd put one of these on the Sire if it fits.
 14.
I use a very similar set up to you. GK Barefaced BB2 and Super Compact. Unlike others I tend to not have the gain up high on this amp, my preference is for the master up higher. Most of the controls at 12 o'clock, with the mids boosted up a bit more. Switches on top off.
I think thats the way GK advise as well and this too works for me (although i have the MB800 ). I have channel 2's gain maxed out though, and control this with the Master for that channel. Gives a nice warmer tone when needed using the foot switch.
 15. Well they cant be much good if he is giving them all away ;-)
 16. I got my 60B working, but had to plug in my 50G to get the drivers working. Bonus though as there is also an update for the 50G that has the TC Corona chorus pedals in it. Now my sons 50G will become my chorus pedal.
 17. My PC (windows 10) wont even see my 60B as anything other than a generic device that has stopped working (so effectively it wont see it). Anyone got any ideas what to try?
 18.
I play a monthly jazz gig in a bar with a group of people who can't be bothered to rehearse, they just want to do the gigs. We have maybe 1 rehearsal every couple of months, where we run through the same 15 songs, and don't really practice properly as a group, we just run through the set and go home. So of course the band sounds sloppy. Reasons for not rehearsing are that everyone is busy with work, we all live miles away from each other and they don't like paying for expensive rehearsal spaces in the areas we can all get to (i.e. central London). So do I stay with this band? It can be fun, and we all get on, but if the band sounds crap in front of an audience (which it often does) I want nothing to do with it. Or is it unreasonable to expect everyone to commit to regular practice?
If you dont like the way the band is being run, you need ot leave. no matter what others say, its you that has the issue so only you can decided what to do. Personally ive never wanted to rehearse regularly once the band has start gigging. On the other hand my last band rehearsed a lot because the guitarist was still learning the songs ad didnt feel confident. This would mean the rest of us giving up more time and money that we felt we didn't want to keep doing......and still we fell apart on a few occasions due to the guitarist forgetting things.
 19.
Chill guys, 'shell posted in good humour. We'd had a laugh about it after the jam last night.
I dont really have a problem, but when someone ridicules a song i like i prefer to stand up for it, especially when said person has gone to a Blues Jam as if thats ok lol. Signing off this one now.
 20.
Sounds like a good choice. It always kills me when people here on BC complain about songs that people in an everyday audience actually like enough to sing along to and get up and dance. Maybe we should all play really obscure jazz that people hate so we can go off and smirk at how much cleverer and musically hip we are. Of course, our audience would end up being just us playing to/with ourselves . . .
Well said. couldn't agree more. I like (although not love) playing the song, and have no issues playing it if asked to at a gig. Im there to entertain and i dont care if anyone on here thinks is embarrassing or not.
 21.
My point is to take the piss out of an old mate. :-)
Yes, but considering you were both at a Blues jam it works both ways i guess ;-)
 22.
An eminent BC member rocks up to my local Blues Jam last night. He gets up and plays a couple with the regulars. Then HE ASKS to do Mustang Sally!! I think he should now be given the opportunity to come along here and explain himself. And to beg forgiveness from the BC collective
Whats your point? Are people not allowed to like this song because other people dont?. And going to a blues Jam must be like playing Mustang Sally all night to a room full of these bass players anyway. Give me MS any night of the week over 10mins long blues w***s.
 23. Thanks. I did go and buy it, along with the M1 app. Agree about the tones, they are first class. Ive record a bit with it but i do find GB to be easier.
 24. I stopped using my Jazz bass (a few times) because of this issue. I'd say its definitely room dependent. Playing on hollow stages seemed to make this worse as well. I love the jazz bass tone, but i find i have less issues with a P bass.
 25. Haha, yes it was you, and im glad you didnt, im not sure this would have worked as well ;-)
