  1. Yeah, they seem a bit more fragile compared to the Comply’s, but at that price it’s fine. I brought so many different sets of Comply’s so im trying to use those up at the moment. I do find they all seem to come loose in my right ear after a while, hence the wing tips question, but all are better than the silicone ones for me.
  2. This is what happens when you get a well below average singer not taking the hint over decades of being sub par. And i am (was) a fan of Blondie. I have a live recording of Debbie’s first solo tour at the Borderline and she was only just passable then.
  3. Im using these at the moment. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B09L7F6D9B/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  4. Yeah, I’m using them at the moment. I’m fact I found some cheaper ones that seem to last longer.
  5. Yeah. I guess it’s needed more for the newer versions.
  6. Does anyone use add on wing tips with their IEM’s? I know custom is the way to go, but I quite fancy trying some wing tips. I’ve recently been using my Beats Fit pro’s at the gym and love how well they stay put.
  7. Also new FW for X-Air mixers have just been released. It’s now v1.20 across the board. New Features • Added support for V2 mixers with alternative MCU, FPGA, USB, WIFI module: XR18V2, MR18V2, X18V2 • Added support for mixers with alternative WIFI module: XR12W, XR16W, MR12W Note: Refer to Appendix for an overview of applicable firmware
  8. We had our first gig with the XR18 las night. Quite stressful getting it all set up as the band had never seen anything like this, and it was the first time we were fully wired up to the desk. Loads of ‘where does this go?’, ‘cant hear myself’ etc. Once all the cables were in it was plain sailing. It worked flawlessly, other than i was getting feedback from the bass (DI’ed, but im guessing it was the pup picking up the room). No sure how good the overal mix was out in the room after we had sound checked, as im sure levels went up as the night went on, but it was a good mix at soundcheck, minus the keys as i was at the back of the room. Then got my singer to take the ipad and balance me in to the mix. 3 of us now using IEM’s, and another looking on with interest. So nice hearing everyone in my ears, rather than just me and an ambient mic (although i still used one). I recorded the whole gig, via my iPad Pro and Logic. I wasn’t expecting much, but it worked flawlessly and captured everything. 17.5GB in total. And to top it all, X-Air is now working on iOS16, although i didnt use it last night. Good times ahead.
  9. Ive ended up sending the TP-Link AC750 back, and got the GL.iNet Opal instead. The AC750 worked fine, no issues at all, but i can see the advantage of having a hard wired connection as well. Although i can connect my ipad directly to the XR18 using Ethernet, that would exclude anyone using phones for their mixes. Hopefully the Opal will be the solution. I also prefer the USB-C port over the Micro one. I did originally order the Slate plus, but the Opal seems almost as good, and more than up to this job.
  10. I don’t think it can, at least not from the XR18. I tried loads of cables but there is no power coming out. I believe the XR12/16 can. Not a big deal.
  11. The TP-Link arrived today and it was quite painless setting it up. It looks cool and will fit in the Gator case with the XR18. I ‘think’ im all ready to go live with the band in two weeks time (bloody Bass player decided to go on holiday). Just wondering what firmware you guys are on. I was looking on Behringer’s website and they have 1.18, but mine is 1.19. Obviously no need to update, but i was surprised that 1.19 isnt there.
  12. Cheers guys. God to know im on the right path. As much as i quite fancy that GL, i think I’ll stick with a brand i know. There are a few posts about connection issues (which im sure all brands suffer from occasionally), but Ive always liked the Tp-link interface, and i like that i can power it with a USB cable. I’ll get it ordered tomorrow.
  13. Ok, so now i need to get a wifi router. I was going to use my old Nighthawk, but it seems that its not used because its broken (bloody kids). Plenty of cheap ones on Amazon, but i quite like the idea of a small one that wotn take up much room in the gig bag. I dont intend to spend more than £50. I like the look of this one. Anyone have any thoughts? Am i better off with a full sized one? We are only playing small stages and the router will be a few foot from me most of the time. Wont be using it for anything else. https://www.amazon.co.uk/GL-iNet-GL-SFT1200-Wireless-Pocket-Sized-Repeater-White/dp/B09N72FMH5/ref=pd_lpo_sa_sccl_2/260-8215407-4110546?pd_rd_w=ZUEnj&content-id=amzn1.sym.38c75885-a11b-44e0-bdcc-565322173826&pf_rd_p=38c75885-a11b-44e0-bdcc-565322173826&pf_rd_r=WEWSWFTA90QB1C8C5QYG&pd_rd_wg=Kn3Vp&pd_rd_r=381f002f-1d13-48d7-99a2-596520e5074c&pd_rd_i=B09N72FMH5&psc=1 Also quite like the look of the TP-Link AC750. Other wise i was thinking for a TP-Link Archer C50, which i have had in the past.
  14. Sorry, yes, that was a typo. It uses the standard private address range of 192.168.1.xxx
  15. Mixing station reports it as being 192.169.1.10.
  16. yeah. The ipads just seem to work without all that nonsense……normally 😁. At least with the desktop version i could get in to the network panel and see whats going on. Anyway, ive now got Mixing station all set up, and hopefully just needs a few tweaks once the band start playing through it.
  17. It’s strange as the iPad one boots to a connect screen (with the demo bits at the bottom), and dorsnt go any further. The desktop one boots straight in to a mixer window with all the features displayed.
  18. Just a quick update. Still no go with the ipad app, but i downloaded the Mac version direct from Behringer. Only way i could get it working was with a LAN cable. I like that app, i do hope Behringer are going to sort this app out for newer devices.
  19. Although im not an IT guy, im pretty technical minded. I understand what you are saying (I mentioned Demo mode purely to show the app hasn't frozen), but if all my devices are connecting to it, Mixing station see’s it automatically on various devices, im not sure what else i can do. You’re right, the app doesn't see anything on the network. I have had X-Air quit a few times even on the old ipad so not too bothered, i was just interested to see what i can do with it.
  20. Yeah, but t is strange. The iPad is an Air v1. iOS is 12.5.7 so very old. Maybe too old? I could sort of understand if it refused to connect, but it’s not even trying. It’s like it’s not working at all until I chose the demo mode. And result on everything, new and old. I do like Mixing Station, it will work perfectly and I’m almost all set up with it, but it doesn’t seem as user friendly so been a bit overwhelming.
  21. At home I’m just using the built in one. I will be using an external one with the band. It seems the issue is only related to Xair. Even with it on my MacBook (which is the phone app) I get the same (Non) result. All my devices can see the XR18 fine, Mixing station works on all of them without any issues.
  22. Thanks. Yeah, I have a MacBook but so far not used it for this. As I’ll need to use the iPad at gigs I thought it easier to get to know that app. I can’t actually find the X Air on the App Store for Mac. Maybe I need to look again. I do have an old iPad that seemed ok with the xair app until I got the mixer. Even though I’m connected to its wifi the app doesn’t even bother to register that it’s there. Won’t connect at all. Yep, it’s just the FX side that’s causing issues now. I’ve figured out the feedback thing and can now get to almost were I want to be with it all, but still getting stuck on a few things. I can’t seem to find how to use the FX sends post fader, so that the FX is EQ’ed to match the sends. I’m using a delay and the delay tone is not getting the EQ. Probably a simple setting that’s deeply buried. Thats a good idea about practising with the settings after the event. Cheers for that.
  23. Thanks. So fat I’m not. It’s being a nightmare with Mixing station. At first I thought it was fine. Getting sounds out etc was easy, but I was up till very late trying to get the FX sends and returns working, and also getting Links working for my keys.
  24. The XR18 just turned up. Big grin on my face when I saw how compact it is. Can’t wait to stay up all night figuring it out 😂.
