  1. I’d also add that the group levels/balance is normally set using the channel faders. This means you can’t have a different mix using them. Aux is better in this respect if you do need to tweak the mix for the monitors.
  2. To be honest we only have the vocals, kick drum and keys through ours at the moment. Drummer uses a small fancy box that has his mic connected to it, so he sends it already EQ’d, and my keys are also already EQ’d, so it’s only the vocals that take advantage of the desk at the moment. I’ve had the deal since 2015 but never really got in to seeing what it can do until this band, but it does keep coming up with nice surprises. The monitoring is good, we can use 3 Aux’s if we exclude the FX, but on the whole we only need 2 at the moment. Both are set to pre fader which is handy. Rarely touch those now it’s all set up, although when Dawn fogeys her IEM’s (or doesn’t use them) we use Aux 1 to send my keys direct to the drummers monitor.
  3. This is the desk we have. It's cheaper but much more versatile.
  4. Not sure I follow that. You mean Mono Aux out from the desk in to the Aux in on the speakers? Yes, that should work fine. Is there a reason you want to use the Aux and not stereo out at home?
  5. Is this for using at home as a general sound mixer on your desk? if so you only need a cable with two jacks on one end and a mini stereo jack on the other. You could use the group 1+2 outputs for this.
  6. Im not familiar with this desk, but another idea could be to send some or all of the vocal channels to a separate group, and use the group out to feed something like this? Or even just feed it from the Aux out. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Behringer-HA400-Microamp-Headphone-Amplifier/dp/B000KIPT30/ref=asc_df_B000KIPT30/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=309964054975&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=17175282499391845560&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=t&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1006886&hvtargid=pla-362879265511&psc=1&th=1&psc=1
  7. Double the price, but i have one of these and I think its a good idea as it will allow anyone using it to control their own volume without messing about with the desk. https://www.gear4music.com/Recording-and-Computers/SubZero-Passive-Personal-Headphone-Controller/2XOL As Russ has just said though, Aux sends dont give out a lot of volume so it really is a good idea to use something like the P2., ive got a couple of the gear for music clones that cost around £30 each. These have a mono/stereo switch so will also fix your issue with just one side coming out of stereo headphones, and allow you to use them with the low output Aux sends. Actually i just looked and they have gone up to £39 now.
  8. Dawn just uses the adapter that comes with the Xvive. Direct in to the Aux1 out on our desk.
  9. I tried that. It seems to keep what I’ve already typed. I know I have seen a ‘clear editor’ button before but it’s not coming up at the moment.
  10. I’m trying to post a reply to someone but o seem to have two quotes in my reply. I can’t seem to figure out how to delete them. I can delete my part, and the text that is in the quotes, but not the quote boxes themselves. Using safari on iPhone.
  11. That doesn’t sound right. Dawn plugs her Xvive transmitter directly in to one of the Aux sends on our desk and gets a mono signal in both ears. EDIT: Sorry, I think I miss read your post. So the Xvixs are fine, just not stereo headphones? If so you can get an adapter or use the correct cable to sum them together so it should still work. Obviously in mono but in both ears.
  12. Yeah, it’s noticeably heavier than the stock one, but once its clipped to my collar i didnt notice it.
  13. I had my first outing (a gig) with my new KZ ZS10’s. Took me 3 songs to switch back to my MEE’s. I’ll keep them as a back up, but i found them not as enjoyable as the MEE’s. Each to their own i guess.
  14. I always record my gigs and rehearsals with a small Roland digital recorder. This has a stereo out and I used this as my ambient source at the last rehearsal. it worked really, really well. It sits in the middle of the room and I had a really nice stereo mix in my IEM’s. Only issue was I was also in the room mix (although my direct volume was much more prominent so it wasn’t an issue)
  15. Nice arrived today. Not as large as i thought, and a perfect fit for my cable. Highly recommended if you need to hold thicker cable..
  16. Clipping the cable to clothing is exactly what you will be doing. Those smaller ones look like the one that comes with my MEE, so would be perfect if not for the smaller diameter.
  17. This thread reminded me that i don’t actually have one either, at least not on my new KZ’s. My MEE’s do and i do use it, so i just ordered this. Not dirt cheap, but my cable is 3.5mm so the one i posted above wouldn't have worked. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07PLDTNWT/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  18. A quick Google using ‘cable clip for IEM’ came up with this. £4 for 20 lol. https://www.amazon.co.uk/yiwoo-Earphone-Earbud-Headphone-Wire(black)-Black/dp/B0831F3DFJ/ref=asc_df_B0831F3DFJ/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=394316852066&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=12267905350168597800&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=t&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1006886&hvtargid=pla-863074590628&psc=1&tag=&ref=&adgrpid=87233666292&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvadid=394316852066&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=12267905350168597800&hvqmt=&hvdev=t&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1006886&hvtargid=pla-863074590628
  19. I thought we discovered its not the output of the desk, as we got the noise through the Xvive when it wasnt connected to the desk, just close to it. Once we turned the desk off the noise went. This was when the transmitter was plugged in to my desk with the receiver close to the Zoom desk.
  20. Could be on to something. We also noticed when the receiver was next to the Zoom desk, which was on, it was also causing this interference, even though the transmitter was in the Mackie desk (so it wasn’t coming from that).
  21. The feel difference alone is huge between the two. When i was researching getting her the 10 Pros a few years ago i read so many posts about upgrading the cable, that i got the cable as well. She used it for a while but then got another cable (mainly as she wanted a black one). Glad i didn't have to spend more money myself lol.
  22. This is how I felt when I tried my singers ones. Now I use foam tips I find them more comfortable.
  23. Just wondering if any/how many upgrade the cable that comes with the KZ’s. I had this lying around for ages, and it’s feels so much nicer. Also doesn’t tangle like the supplied one. It also has a straight Jack which I prefer. It’s supposed to sound better as it’s got 16 cores but I can’t really hear that. I got it for my singer ages ago but she prefers the OEM one. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07ZQCBYXS/ref=pe_27063361_487055811_TE_dp_1
  24. Cheers guys. I decided to give them a go and very happy with them so far. I got them off a guy i bumped in to last night at our rehearsal stuido who has just equipped a band with them, and then realised he brought two pairs too many lol. Not sure how different they sound compared to the non X version, but they seem to fit and feel slightly better in my ears than the non X. Not sure id say they sound better than my MEE’s, but the fact that the top end is clearer might help at gigs. Im using Sonicfoam SF1 Large and these seem to fit really well. I’ll see if i can do a comparison over the weekend between the two models, but for £25 im very happy. Even if i use them as a back up.
  25. Question about the KZ ZS10 and similar. There seems to be a few different brands of these, I was wondering if there is a preferred one or are they all just clones of each other? I had ordered a pair of the KZ ZS10 Pro X from the KZ global store (via Aliexpress), but have just been offered a pair of the same ones but branded Yinyoo. They look identical and ive been offered them for £25, boxed and unopened.
