Dave that is a very kind offer. Do you not use it? Could be a plan - try before I buy! I said I was a tightwad!
No, i replaced it with a BDDI a couple of years ago and leant it to someone on here. He didnt have a need for it but i told him to keep hold of it until we meet up, but that hasnt happened yet.. Hopefully he still has it.
Probably the first thing I will buy when I get back from holiday
If you want to try my BDI21 let me know. Another member has it at the moment but he isnt using it. I could arrange for him to post it to you.

Yeah, i saw that new interface.Nnot cheap though. I like Jamup, i have the full version with the bass pack, but i felt it to be a bit clumsy as far as playing along with tracks. I disagree about it being the best but its all subjective. For me having the Ashdown and Trace amps makes AmpKit the best. I started with Amplitube but never really got on with it (i use it on my PC though).
Thing is with the Line 6 mobile in, it has no AUX in and also doesn't integrate with itunes library.
If you are using software that runs in the back ground, like most of other amp sims then it should just be a case of using itunes in the normal way and playing along to it. I do this with GarageBand and Ampkit.

Bugger. Ive got GAS for the Hartke VXL Bass Attack now :-(. I think i might find it more useful than the Paradriver.

Derek Forbes - Funny Response on You Tube
Doh! Yeah, that's the one.
Must admit that got me thinking as well. Funny thing is i always used to say to my guitarist "is the chord played right?". 10 years on, i still say it, and not just for that song lol. -
That how i like to use my iPad as well. I also have all my tracks stored on Itunes match so i have almost 20,000 tracks on tap :-)
I've just bought a BDI-21 to spice up my Markbass rig's tone, sounds boss on it's own and the tube distortion is decent, however it seems to absolutely destroy the mids in a fashion I'd have loved when I was going through my bedroom bassist phase... looking forward to trying it in a band setting to see if I can keep the valve sound without loosing all the mids and promptly getting lost in the mix...
The secret with these boxes (BDI-21 and BDDI) is in the blend knob. Back it off a bit and you will get a bit more of the original tone coming though. You can also back both treble and bass knobs off together and this will allow the mids to come through a bit stronger. It took me at least a couple of years to finally find i could use my BD-21 with my MB heads. Then i progressed to a BDDI as it felt a bit more robust, plus i never used the presence knob. I think i actually prefer the tone from the BDI-21 over the real deal. I now have a Paradriver, as that does have the mid control, its more of an all round box rather than a SVT emulator, but i tend to keep it flat. The EQ on this thing is very powerful. Bobby, i too am very jealous. She has some very interesting songs and i'd love to have a reason to learn them. Hope it all goes well.

2013 Sterling by Musicman basses, inc a fretless Ray34CA

Yeah, i too was tempted by that. Lovely looking bass. If only i wasn't happy with what i have, although i suppose thats a good thing. -
2013 Sterling by Musicman basses, inc a fretless Ray34CA
dave_bass5 replied to dave_bass5's topic in Bass Guitars
Ive wanted a Ray34CA since they were first announced, in fact that's the only bass i do hanker after, its just a shame i cant afford one. Black and maple or Sunburst and maple would do me. Ive often thought about a SB14, for the thinner neck, but i think i like the tone of the Ray34 better (i had one of the original Ray34's). -
Just came across this (not literately of course:) on Facebook. Full list of whats in the pic. Left to right: Ray34CA-SVM Silver Metallic Ray34CAFL-VC Fretless in Vintage Cream Ray34CA-MG Mint Green Ray35-TWB Translucent White Blonde Ray34-BK Black Ray34-HB HoneyBurst Ray34-TWB Translucent White Blonde — with real music concepcion.
This is bizarre. Bizarre, but pretty cool. http://boingboing.ne...y-religion.html Someone took "Losing My Religion" and shifted it so its in a major key. I quite like it.
Very strange hearing it like that but i like it as well. Useless fact but ive met the guy that wrote that blog, we printed one of his books.

The jack and tone pot are the only things ive not replaced in my CV (other than when i had the P-retro in). The wires should be long enough to rotate it a bit so the lugs aren't touching the side.
-
Is this the Axesrus PG Mel? Maybe they changed the design as mine (ive had 2) were ok. I did have to rotate the lugs on the input jack to get them away from the cavity wall but it wasn't as tight as yours by the sounds of it. Come to think of it the jack socket from my old P-Retro was a lot tighter
-
I think those starting out are a bit more savy than they used to be.
-
Im really not getting this. I cant see why the fuss. If your a gigging band and you can pull people in then you will get paid, if you cant you dont do it. The advert seems pretty much up front to me. Im not arguing with anyone, i just cant see what the fuss is all about.

I dont know about the Line 6 version but the JAM will also work with Mac's. That might make a difference.

You don't realise how loud you are until..............
dave_bass5 replied to barneyg42's topic in General Discussion
I've been using cheap AKG systems for years, specifically so I can go out front and do the mixing. When I first started doing this I too was shocked at how loud I was. It's been a real boon having the wireless system as we only use a small PA and don't play public gigs so its always down to me to make sure the levels are balanced. Saying that, the rest of the band normally hold back during sound checks so it all goes to pot anyway, but at least I know I'm at the right volume for the venue. -
Another vote for Garageband and Appogee JAM. I think the JAM interface is more like £70+ but its a lot better than the iRig type of interfaces, worth paying a bit more if our serious about recording g and want the best signal to noise ratio. For amps I prefer Ampkit. It has Ashdown and Trace Elliot rigs, and I feel it gives a more solid sound.

P with J neck ? Fender/Squier vs Warwick vs G&L vs ???
dave_bass5 replied to hamfist's topic in Bass Guitars
Probably nothing to worry about but I found a Wizard Thumper (P pup) wouldn't fit my Squier as it was very slightly too long and wide. It was supposed to be a standard P pup but I had to file down both pick guards that I've had on that bass. Just thought I'd point that out. -
These seem to be universally recommended, but as common as rocking horse sh1t. If you've got one to offer, I'm interested !
If i had one id be keeping shouting about it. They do come up every now and then though. Fantastic basses, ive had 3. -
Yowser, thats a lot of money for a MIM PJ Lozz. What makes it so special for you ?
This is the bass its based on, made in Japan. Not bad for the money although the look is an acquired taste IMO. Second hand Lakland Skyline Duck Dunn, or you could buy a Squier CVP and CV Jazz, swap the necks over and sell the Jazz with the P neck. -
