They're lovely basses, and they look better with a black p/g:
Yep, black or White pearl for me.

Oh yes, those Fralin's do make a difference. My first two had Fralin's in them, the third had a Hanson and i noticed the difference. I got Fralin for that one as well :-)

Thats my impression as well. Ive owned 3 Duck Dunn's (and a 55-01) and am a huge Lakland fan, but i cant see a big difference between getting a Lakland P bass or a MIA Frender. Each will be slightly different, especially the necks IME but i cant see how one "kills" the other buy just being a bit different. Saying that, id take a DD over a Fender any day, but thats only down to the neck rather than anything else. In fact i think the Lakland bridges look ugly.

What makes the Lakland's so much better tan the Fenders?

EDIT: Ill need to use it during Jan 2013 so for now its not for sale. Ive had this for about 6 weeks. Its a lovely pedal but i really don't need it. Every few years i buy a compressor, it seems a good idea at the time but i just don't need one. I got it from Amazon (not market place) on 31-10-12 for £188 and its been used 3 times, at gigs. Its in great condition, its not been used on the floor or on a pedal board so no Velcro pads etc. Still got the box and paperwork etc. Im looking for £130 and that will include postage to UK mainland. No trades as i want to use the money to buy something else ive got my eye on. Pics will be up later today but her is a link to the manufactures website with all the details. Good luck with that. The only issue ive found is that my singer also plays guitar so the recorder can sometimes pick up his strumming, although thats very rare.
thanks a lot matey, no bass, drums or guitar thru the desk or the singer 'll ave a wobbler.. Its his PA...where would be the best place to put it whilst recording?
We (I) normally record all our gigs. We started doing it because we had a couple fo clients that insisted we didnt play their requests or for long enough etc. Recording the gig means we have proof of anything if needed. I quite enjoy listening back to our recordings, they always sound more enjoyable than i remember, even the next day. We only use a vocal PA so although things are mic'ed up its not really set up for a recording mix, especially as we only use one mic on the drums (in the bass drum). I use a small Edirol digital recorder strapped to the singers mic stand. This means it gets a good stereo spread off the stage, his body acts as a drum shield so they aren't too loud, it picks up the crowd and the vocals get picked up by the monitor at his feet. After years of odd mic placement with DAT and MD recorders this works the best and gives a very decent recording......we just have to work on getting decent playing now :-(

Thanks Nigel. Im glad they are getting in to music, and more so that the little one is getting in to keyboards. Until now he was adamant he was going to take up drums or violin. Not a chance lol. Jan is fine for the Korg, Feb even, whenever you are finished with it is fine. Im sure by then the eldest will be on to something else or gone off the idea.

No problem Nig. As i said it was just hanging around. Glad you found such a good use for it. Funny enough both my sons are now getting in to playing keyboards. The youngest is getting a lovely workstation for Christmas. The keys light up so will be great for leaning songs. Its not midi or even USB but its going to be ideal for him (and yes, we got him some good headphones as well . The eldest loves Garageband on my iPad2 and has started to create some "music" on his PC with my Roland midi controller, but was wanting something bigger with more keys and sounds built in, so it will be handy to get the Korg back whenever you've finished with it. Definitely no rush though. The Novation looks great, i'd like something like that if i get back in to playing keys and recording. I hope it works out for you. When i was at the gadget show on Friday i almost got my son one of these, until i saw the price. OMG is the term that comes to mind. I was thinking its like Casio VL1 updated but oh no, much more than that. Very nice piece of kit though. First time ive even noticed this sort of thing on BC. Some fantastic work from everyone, very impressive. I must admit i've not listened to them all, all the way through, some weren't my cup of tea, but one stood out for me, partly because i thought part of it sounded like It Bites, and partly because i just loved the idea and the music in general, so my vote went to Silddx. Oh,and thanks for the mention Nig, although it wasn't needed :-). Glad you are getting on well with it. I was going to PM you about that but i can see its working just fine. HAHA, that will teach me to read the thread first. So, my vote was too late. Sorry about that. Shame it actually let me vote though.

Best P bass I ever owned......twice. Not a great recording, nor playing but this was taken when I had my first Duck Dunn. http://www.youtube.com/watch?nomobile=1&v=AtHBDnsA-TQ

Colin who? :-)

They may be making them but ive not seen (m)any that appeal to me. Cant stand all that "relic'ed" rubbish, i think most of their necks look boring due to no fret markers, and that covers most Sandbergs on here IMO. I realise one of the basses above has non but i love the overall look of it anyway, probably due to the non rosewood fingerboard. Im only saying what i feel. The best looking bass i have ever seen/played is a Blackburst PM5 (that had neck issues so i didnt buy it) so im not slagging off Sandberg as such, just saying i personally dont like the look of a lot of their basses, no matter how good they play or sound. Each to his own,.
-
Wow, the two best looking Sandberg's on BC belong to the same person. How lucky are you :-)

I was just about to start a thread about this but i see i was beaten to it, by quite a few weeks. Glad its not just my PC. As with the others FF and Chrome are fine. i can live with it, as i dont really use IE but wanted to point it out.
-
I'm actually wearing one of mine now. I've got three I think, althought it might be two, but plan on getting a white one soon. They are really comfortable.
-
Yeah, no rproblem. I was just pointing it out in case you haven't advertised anything on here before.

Small donation made, wrong time of the year for much more im afraid.

Being a grumpy old git to day ill point out the obvious, but regularly over looked guideline for selling on here. ". You must state a price for your item. Even if your item is just for trade, you must include your trade valuation of your item as a guide for others seeking to trade. Anything without a price clearly stated will be subject to removal. Also do not invite 'offers'." It might make things go a bit smoother and keep your for sale thread cleaner when you do start it. Good luck,
