1. As above, ive had this for about 6-7 months and love the tone. Thing is its not acutually been in my bass for the past 4 months as it wont fit properly. It seems to be just that little bit too big to fit my pickguard without modification. I had to file my original CVP one down to get it to fit, but when i got a black PG i really couldnt be bothered. A Fender original fits fine so im pretty sure its not the PG. I tired putting the magnets in to the Squier cases and although they would fit the poles didnt line up with all the holes. So, there you go. Its been used but is in good condition, and of course it works fine. I'll get some acurate measurements and a couple of pic's up tonight. Comes in the original box, with original screws but no foam. Looking for £30, posted to UK mainland. Cheers.
2.
Have you seen the state of that bridge?????????????
No, whats up with it?
3. Ooooo, the 5 string is only £249. Bloody hell, that's cheap. Hmmmm, I see a 5 string back in the arsenal. Looks like not shipping until may, thank god.
4.
£229 for a 4 string at Andertons. None in stock yet.
Damn, that's too tempting to pass on, I hope they are delayed so I can go off the idea. It's funny but Andertons always seem to be the first to advertise new basses, long before they come out.
5.
No doubt someone who knows more than I do will be along in due course!
Probably more if it was posted in the Amp forum rather than the introduction froum
6. How about offering a relic'd or roadworn range. You could wear them for a few weeks then sell them at over inflated prices ;-)
7.
Hmm. This did nothing for me. It just sounded like a musician killing time - maybe waiting for the microwave to ping or something. Trade shows have got to be the worst gigs in the world.
Same here. Made me feel like i was going up and down in a lift. I suposes its more the type of music rather than the playing but it remeinded me of the Freeform Jazz scene in Spinal Tap. Each to his/her own.
8. Looking good. I know you said you will get some new photos up so i wont ask but it would be nice to see the whoel shirt, just so i can photoshop my head on one to choose my colour ;-)
9. Do you mean the Ray34CA? These came out last year, although the two i posted above are new colours. Not cheap at around £660
10. Yeah, that black one is lovely. As much as i would like a real SR4 they just dont come with narrow necks for this price. The SR4 SLO's ive seen cost a hell of a lot more.
11. It does look like the bridge is slightly over to one side. After all that MIA stuff i dont think i would let the pup bit bother me but im not sure i would be happy with the E string that close. It might not matter when its played but i would compare it to my cheap Squiers (even the one i've bodged together) and feel it really should be better, no matter how much it cost. The Silver version looks fine so it does seem to show that there is leway in thier QC. What are you looking at Laklands Gareth? Not GAS i hope. It could be just that ive not looked at these for a few years but they seem pretty cheap, at least the ones on the first page. Nothing takes my fancy though, thank god.
12. Nice one. I always feel confident about using Thomanns, not so a lot of places over here.
13. LOL, thats what i first thought but still fancy a Ray34 CA over one of these, only becuase of the thin neck on the CA.
14. Just noticed these on another website. I know some people dont agree or like the SBMM range, and i know these wont be a patch on the originals (not my feelings, just anticipating some replies;-) I cant see a huge difference from the Ray34, i guess as with the original SUB range these are just cheaper versions of the Ray34. The bodies are made of different woods and i suppose the necks might be different. Never a fan of the pianted black neck on the original SUB. Also noticed two new Ray34 CA colours. I like the Black but that pick guard would have to go.
15.
I am having to think hard about what I really need, and probably need to do some more research and decide how much I can afford. Thanks again. N
I've got a Korg N5 sitting around at home doing nothing, If you want to use it just let me know.
16.
Yep, Div is so f***ing cool! Watching this vid has made me want to double on keyboard synth bass,
Im planning to use one of the synth bass tones in Garageband on my iPad at my next gig, and ill play it live
17.
I like to think that Mr. Peart would flip him off, laugh, and then buy the guy a beer after the show before riding off into the sunset on his motorbike...
Joking aside i think Mr Peart would probably take on board what he was asked to do, after all, a sound guy is there for a reason and while the people on the other end of the mulitcore may well they think they know best its not always the case, espeically if your sitting behnd a drum kit and have no idea whats going on out front sound wise
18.
Drummers have a problem that singers, bass players, keyboard players etc don't have, inasmuch as they're not able to have a kit set up in the dressing room.
You obviously haven't seen back stage at a Rush gig then
19. Yeah, the reset didnt work as it was the battery failing. The problem was after a month or two, with a new battery it started acting up. Changed the battery a second time and the same thing happened. I ended up giving it away to a rehearsal studio for a free session. Funny enough i had a Bass POD XT during that time but sold in in favour of the V-amp. I just felt the V-Amp was better for me, mainly the aux input.
20. Loved the video, i love this sort of stuff, hearing it as it was played rather than over produced. And i thought she looked sexier dressed like that than most of the cosutmes she wears. Just saying
21. Yes, its the black one. As i have all the software already im happy to pay less and get less, as long as it works as advertised. I used to have a V-amp, great little unit. I did my last demo using it. It did start to go funny after a while, all the presets went haywire. I did replace the battery but it didnt seem to last long.
22.
[sub]Hi, is there another set of screws showing at the very back of the bridge? Don't remember there being anything like that on mine? Maybe a variation?[/sub]
They look like holes for stringing the bass through the body to me. Never seen one like that before, maybe a custom job. Edit: Come to think of it im sure my old one had those holes as well, i just didnt have a string through body.
23. Funny ehough ive also found a cheap (lol) copy of it for £12 on Amazon. Its even cheaper and probably nastier but for £12 i dont mind givnig it a go. It wont get moved and will stay plugging in all the time so hopefully it will do the trick. The USB on my PC can be a bit funky sometimes, that why i dont want to go the whole USB audio system route at the moment.
24. Totally agree with you. I also find when someone tells me this is a new break through, better than anytihng thats gone before it etc etc i tend to switch off.
