  1. Not so much hate, as never really liked. I ordered a Lakland DJ5 years ago. I love Lakland basses and wanted a decent jazz. it's also the most expensive bass ive owned. I couldn't try one but didnt think I needed to. When it arrived I couldn't wait to gig in. In fact the gig was that night. It played like dream, but the sound was (to my ears) awful. Quite soft and muddy (or warm)) compared to my Squier CV Jazz. After a few month is really could take any more, so got it converted in to a PJ at the Gallery. They did a great job, but it still had that warm tone above it, even though the pups had been complete changed. I ended up selling it shortly after.
  2. If they have a Facebook page, post on that. I find doing this gets results a lot faster than emailing them etc, especially if it's a negative post.
  3. I had a thumper and a trad years ago. Ill be honest and say i didn’t think either was anything special. I’d say the same about the Fralins I’ve had as well, although they did seem to have a bit more life to them.
  4. Ive ordered a few things recently, as others have said, there is a back hole in the tracking where the item sits at customs. I do find I still get the items within 4 days, depending when I order. I do try and order on a Monday so I get the time that week. Weekend orders seem to take an extra day.
  5. Oh right, sorry, miss read the first post. In that case the DI all the way. Having the Mid knob and Blend are, in my opinion, very useful. It’s a much more versatile box.
  6. My old band used to put a rope light around the playing area if we were on the floor. Not sure how much it helped but we would quite often see people not step in to our area but walk around it.
  7. Been there many times with these two. The last time was last year when i re purchased both, but ended up with just keeping my old BDi-21. Over the years ive loved the BDDI ( especially the MKII), but also the VTBas DI. I always ended up keeping thr BDDI. I couldn’t believe how much the Sansamp stuff has gone up over the last 5-6 years. Id look on YT as there are quite a few comparison videos.
  8. It's funny but at every gig I have this issue (to a certain extent) and never seem to look in to it between gigs. This thread has reminded me I need to, so I'll sort it out this weekend as I have no gigs. Im thinking maybe even hooking it to my belt upside down might work.
  9. Yeah, i always end up getting the volume going down and thinking there is an issue with the receiver. I guess if i had it on my right side then at least it would go up. Shame there isn’t something like a push in brake for it. I paid just under £300 for my 2.4 version and im not i could afford £500 for peach of mind at this point. I’ve done maybe 20 gigs with it now and not had any issues.
  10. I wish Thomanns would do a 5.8 version. I have their 2.4 version of the MiPro 2.4 and not had a single issue with it, at least as far as connectivity and sound quality goes, but i know one day it might happen. The issue i do have is i keep knocking the volume knob on the receiver. Obviously i need to reposition the belt pack but it’s become quite annoying.
  11. Good advice, although ive been weary of using more cables than necessary when playing live. I feel safer running off the internal drive, just incase the cable gets knocked out or jolted etc. At home I have all my DAW/Lightroom etc on SSD, but live its all self contained.
  12. No, that was just an example, i know you didn’t change your phone. Something working fine and then the user changes to something that doesnt work is going to be tricky to resolve IME. im not blaming you, we have all done things like this, but had you not made the decision to change something then you would still be up and running. Had you brought the guitar and found you could not use it then of course you would return it. And of course Andertons can’t re write the code to make things work again, which is why i said it’s a manufacturer issue, although of course your sales agreement is with Andertons and they have to deal with you. Im just trying to see it from a different perspective.
  13. But isn’t that on the person buying the item to ensure they have a suitable device to use with it? isn’t it like they state you need an apple device and you do, but then change to Android and want your money back. Obviously that’s just an example but does that mean at some point in the future i could expect to give it back to shop. i noticed Anderson’s dont state what app version etc is needed, but as the owner had the correct device and then changed it is it really on the shop? Id say this is a manufacturer issue.
  14. Ive always been one to do updates as soon as they come out, but since i started to use my MacBook as my main instrument im now very careful. As you say, it seems to be the plugins rather than main apps that are slow to get updated. i do have iOS betas on all my other Apple devices though 😂
  15. I dont think Anderson's have any blame here, although I guess they might help out. You updated your phone without checking (easily done of course). The guitar hasn't become faulty, it's the app, and that's not on Anderson's as they sold you the gear and you had it working. If others can still use it then I can't see how it's not fit for purpose in general. Good luck either way. You cold get a cheap phone to work with this, but I guess it's more a principle thing than actually wanting to get it working now.
  16. A very rare shot of us all smiling. Had a good gig last Friday. Might be the last (for a while) with our dep singer, who has such a similar voice to our normal singer that it's like we dont have a dep. As REM say, that's me in the corner (not on bass).
  17. Wow, forgot I still have this. Open to offers.
  18. Pretty sure this has been out for ages, still in an unfinished format though.
  19. I started to use the headphone out for my IEM’s (stereo) when i got my XR18, as it was an easy option. Just a lightweight stereo cable from the XR18 to my P2. No adapters or a pair of cables like i do now using the XLR. It was more convenient, plus i coudl if needed use that output for other things. It also gave me easier access to adjusting the output level by having the knob.
  20. Do you have an audio interface? Some of those have MIDI ports. If not, and you are thinking of getting one, just get one with midi on the back.
  21. Yep, mine has a car full of the buggers
  22. My old band encountered with licence type years ago. Quite a few of the pubs we used to play went over to this. We then started getting offered gigs at these places for duo or trio money. Never went back.
  23. My Fender Sandblasted P bass. Ive brought other basses since getting it, but all have bene sold and I still have the Fender. That bass will never leave me.
  24. Ah yeas, Arrive Alive. I had that as well. That was a long, long time ago, but snippets from that album live on in my synth playing for some reason.
  25. It went really well thanks. Highlight for me was playing Auld Lang Syne. I programmed a really cool bagpipe ensemble sound and everyone was really impressed with it. It the small things in life that make it worthwhile lol. Even getting back want as bad as we thought. We took our time and got back in to central london around d 3:30 am. Was surprised at how little traffic we saw on the way home. Managed to blag our way through all the road blocks to get home as well.
