1.
I didn't think I wanted a new amp till I heard/saw theses.
That's the same video Gareth posted in the first post
2.
Get some new chops, Ed.. !!!!!!
I loved the riff he played in the second part of that clip.
3.
I think we could extend this and blame Gareth for a lot of things. Lets make him the offical BC scapegoat. I'm sure he won't mind
4. :-), you can blame Gareth for that. I really only hear about new amp gear when i speak to him, i should put him on my ignore list lol.
5. Ed's got one as well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=SP-OazNzPdY They sound interesting, i like the tone in these clips more than the Streamliner clips. Hmmm, maybe.......just maybe...
6.
this is lurvly.. anyone know the price point on these?
LOL, you really dont to to know :-(
7. Ooooo, another Thomann's thread. Guess we havent had one this year yet ;-) Thomanns CS is very good, buy with confidence.
8. I've never met anyone who thinks like that.
9.
Very much agreed. My gas is finally done. Ironic really as I'm bass wise virtually back where I began!
Funny enough so am I. I went in to my current band 8 years ago with just a JV Squier P, now my main bass is a Squier CV P..........loads more debt though.
10.
Gas is great if you like the thrill of the chase but a real pain when it just becomes habit. I don't want to return to how I was
Agreed, although in my case I can't afford to do it anyway. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing.
11. Shame you missed out then. I haven't seen any downside to giving them what they asked for but each to his own.
12. As I play MB heads I do prefer the MB amp sim, even though I feel it's a bit limited. The SVX plugin is also good, if you like that sort of tone. Amplitude was feel a while ago, not sure if it's gone back up in price.
13. Yep, I reached a point in my life late this year where I know buying more gear is just pointless for what I do. In fact I've become bored with the whole gear thing. I like what I have, it does the job so I have no need to look at or lust for anything else. Of course that probably won't last but for now my money will be going to help pay off the past mistakes.
14. Theres been a few threads on here about Amplitube and the others apps like this. IMO none come close to the quality of something like a Korg Pandora, but I guess it's more for convince over quality. Im still not happy with the fact that Amplitube requires you to import your music tracks so it can convert them, the GK apps doesnt need to do this and for me that makes it easier and quicker to use Having tried a few, and preferring the GK app I've realised it's not the app but the interface that makes the most difference. I tried one of the interfaces that use the 30pin connector over Christmas and it sounded much better than my iRig. I also found the amps in GarageBand on my iPhone/pad sound nicer to my ears than the specific bass apps. EDIT: my post is based on the word "app" in the OP. sorry if I got the wrong end of the stick and it's computer programs being asked about. If so ignore the above.
15. Replied and it's you're when ever you want it.
16. If you can come over to SE1 I've got a padded gig bag you can have for free. It's never been used. It might offer a bit more protection.
17. Good luck with yours. I think they will be ideal. I've got a Amazon Prime account so it's all to easy to order things I don't need and get them next day.
18. My HD25's arrived earlier and im very pleased with them. They do sound flatter than my PX100 and Grado SR60's but i feel its just right, certainly through my iPhone 4. Plenty of volume as well. I find my other cans boost the low end too much and this makes it harder to work out bassline from MP3's etc. The HD25 seems a lot cleaner. The pair i briefly tried before had the Velour ear pads on them. These felt comfortable but im quite happy with the stock ones. I do feel the isolation is a bit better, as is the low end. I did try the other pads but didnt feel i wanted to lose the low end kick, which i feel is perfect as it is. I work with a large photocopier and its quite strange not hearing it churning away, i have to keep looking at the screen to make sure its not working. ive also been told off twice for not answering the phone in the print room lol. So, skint but happy.
19. Nor will i hear the kids fighting over each others Christmas presents. HUZZAH! indeed.
20.
Nor me,but I need them for work : (
I'm even worse, i dont need them at all, i just have GAS for them. Ordered a pair from Amazon, will be here tomorrow. At least i have the option of sending them back if i find they aren't what im hoping for. Happy Christmas to me :-)
21. Cheers for the reply, sounds like they will be a worthwhile upgrade for me. Sold to the man who really can't afford them at this time of the year lol.
22. So for normal listening such as iPod etc the 70 ohms version should be ok shouldnt it? One other question, are these good for general music listening? I ask as I would like to use them both for recording and playing, and also using with my iPod touch or phone on the tube. I don't suppose you or anyone knows how these compare to the Sen HD215? These are what I have now but I find the noise isolation isn't great.
23.
. I think it's actually worse having to play a song you know so well in a different key rather than learning a new one from scratch.
Totally agree, and this is what prompted me to buy a 5 string when i started depping with a band who did more or less the same songs as my band but in different keys. I just couldnt get my head around re learning them in a new key.
24. I have found i use less filter now i have the F1, but a touch of VPF helps tame the mid hump in my 1212L. I think thats probably why i like the BDDI as it also helps tame the mids.
25. No problem, glad to help (and talk about MB heads) I do think part of my MB love is that they work well with my Schroeder cab (s), in fact most cabs by the sound of it, not so a few other heads ive tried through them.
