1.
Ha, good. So let's also keep Saturday in the picture then. Keep 'em coming guys. Grateful for your opinions.
Other than the 9th June im ok for an afternoon meet on the date posted previously.
2.
I was thinking of late morning/lunchtime/afternoon rather than night, though, especially if the weather is nice. Would that make things slightly better?
I might be able to do a Sat in that case. If its a social club gig then i dont normally have to leave until late afternoon.
3.
Tru, dat. What about London Bridge, down by the river - easy to get to... More London Riverside is nice. HMS Belfast, Tower Bridge, green spaces, City Hall, architecture, fountains, good pubs/bars and restaurants, etc etc?
Yeah, i love it down there. I was out with Fran (GW) a few weeks ago, late at night and saw a Fox at wandering around More London.
4. Well i would have to say all those Sat's are out for me as ill be gigging but the Sundays are clear at the moment (and probably will stay that way).
5. How many people do the London Eye capsules hold lol. That would be interesting. Im in if its not on a gig day (for me).......and no bloody Jazz either ;-)
6. The only thing i dont like about them is the price :-( It would be nice if Squier made some fanned fret basses lol.
7. I just thought this might be of use to those who are contemplating doing any of this sort of thing. Fairly basic info really, and it doesn't show any soldering as such but still useful. 8. After getting my nice new Squier CV P i couldn't wait to show the band. when i got the gig i opened the gig bag to find my CV Jazz....in pieces. I had put the stock pups back in a week or so before, but hadn't wired them in as i wasn't going to keep them in there. For some reason i had put that bass back in my usual gig bag rather than the spare. I also only had a strap with strap locks and no pins in the bass so i ended up fixing the pups with gaffa tape, wired them in with gaffa tape and used nails to hold the strap on.
9. Im happy to pay £40 if they do last longer than average. I guess only time will tell. ill wait for a few more reports to come in.
10. I almost got a set last week. I had them in my basket (Soundslive) but I read one or two posts about them not lasting more than a couple of gigs. This put me off as I thought they were going to be like Elixirs, but maybe that's not the norm.
11. Some people like to do things differently I guess. I've also been using them on and off over the past 30 years and never had any problems other than the nuts coming loose once or twice, and a bit of nail polish has sorted that out.
12. Glad it helped, it did for me. I had a Ray34 and only sold it because i prefer narrower necks. Back then the CA version wasnt out and something about the look of the SB14 put me off, even though i prefer the tone Ed gets over the Ray34. There have been a few SB14's come up on here, im sure you will find something.
13. The SB14 is based on the EBMM Sterling i believe. It does differ quite a bit as far as electronics and pup goes, From the description for the SB14. A 3rd Hum cancelling phantom coil zaps all the noise out and allows for series, parallel and true single coil operation with no hum. Check out Ed Friedland's video review of these basses and you will get a better idea of how they differ. The SB14 is also made of Basswood. EDIT; Here you go. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=67Fo7AKwfA0&feature=plcp&context=C47088faVDvjVQa1PpcFN3Fr-my2d8eoRpprVh_fS13f2rFZ6Znyk%3D
14.
I think the F1 is a cracking little amp and quite possibly my favourite micro. I've just bought one before they become discontinued as rumoured.
I totally agree but i cant help missing the extra EQ the F500 has.
15.
Yes the F500 is a brilliant combination of the F1 character and the SA450s features (plus mute facility). Buy, buy, buy
If only i could . Im sure these wont last long.
16. Great amps. The SA450 was my favourite head, now i long for a F500 :-(
17. Oh, didnt know you got another F1. Sorry for taking the first off you LOL. Good luck with the sale etc.
18. LOl, i was thinking the same but check this out http://forums.ernieball.com/ernie-ball-strings/52884-wades-experience-cobalt-strings.html Post #2 "Wade welcome You are the first negative review we have read....Sorry they didnt work for you....we cant make them fast enough..." Guess who posted that ;-)
19. There are some guys using them on the forum that we shall not speak of ;-) http://forums.ernieball.com/music-man-basses/52750-cobalts-real.html
20.
to me at least, the sound capabilities of the Dingwalls made me feel unsatisfied when playing my Ernie Ball basses (Stingray 5 / Big Al 5 / Bongo 5 & 25th Anniv. 5) as they all sounded like indonesian cheap copies in comparison and I am not kidding,
Imagine how i felt when i got home after playing yours and plugged my Squier in
21.
Just got back from being on tour with Paul Weller, supporting him at The Roundhouse in Camden. Whole week was a blast and such a wonderful venue. The entire crew were so helpful and friendly and looked after us no end. A few celebs were there over the course of the week including Noal Gallagher, Bobby Gillespie to name a few but the best was Jay from Inbetweeners. So wanted to say clunge but probably very un-original. Anyway, the EBS Reidmar 250 and Classic 112 was simply awsome. Here are a few piccies.
Glad they went well Michael. Must have been a fantastic week for you. Its nice that things are going well now. Ill be ordering a copy of the album when i get paid this week.
Just played first gig with my new band 'All The Queens Ravens' at the Hootananny in Brixton, a fantastic, lively multi-cultural venue. We did a 40 minute set and I played all but one song. We got a great reception from the typically-big big crowd at the Hootananny and the rest of the band were really chuffed. Still buzzing! Good thing the adrenaline kicked in as I flew in to UK this morning from Brazil and am very jet-lagged
Nice one Clarky, seems like the new band are keeping busy.
22. Just a heads up, Strings Direct are doing these tuners (Mini Headstock) for £14.62 inc delivery at the moment.
23. Nah, its this one :-) When i got my CVP (with Lakland neck, no logo on it) out at the gig last weekend someone pointed out the SB sticker on the headstock. Im not 100% sure who it was that put it there but i have an idea.....
24.
The Fender Precision is the perfect bass for me and my needs. At those prices my next one will have Shuker written on the headstock.
My current P has Sponge Bob on the headstock, waaaaay cooler
25. I normally keep one or two Eneloop's in my gig bag and take a freshly charged 2900mAH rechargeable or two to each gig. I find i can get two long gigs out of each but i tend to always charge before the gig (excerpt this one time) Unfortunately my son got some night vision goggles for Christmas and had been using my batteries without telling me so all were dead.
