Ive got the Polytune app on my iPhone. It seems pretty accurate for what it is but i still dont get the need to have all strings showing at once. Ive been using a Peterson Stroboclip for most of this year. Thats not cheap either (£65) but its more accurate, and tracks a low B etc fine. Ive now switched to using a Snark clip on tuner. That cost me £10 but its just as accurate as any tuner ive owned, at gigs anyway. I tend to use the Peterson more for setups/intonation as its more precise but im sure it doesnt really need to be that good. I really dont understand why people pay so much money for something that gets so little use. Is it the lights (yes Gareth, im looking at you lol)

I must admit i am warming to the Jag look, but more the Fender version rather than the Squier.

Never played one but ive read many times the neck is very thin. In my book thats a good thing bu tive read a few people didnt like the bass because of this. I believe they are made in (or crafted in) Japan so should be pretty good quality. Damn, now im going to go looking at them :-(

In fact he said it didnt really matter what was attached to the neck, its the neck that commands the price. I replaced all the hardware with gold Schaller stuff, mirror pick guard (well it was the 80's) EMG select and a few other bits i cant remember. I still got over £300 for it.

By all accounts a P-Retro is the circuit of choice. I've been meaning to get one for ages.

I shuddered when we were asked to learn Rio for a first dance, the night before. Once i got in to it i found it quite easy, although a bit harder to play it at "our" speed.

The NY122 does seems like a good match for the LMIII. Much better to turn down than to push the cab too hard IME.

Its normally me that says "why not play it like the record" etc. You should hear some of the crap my guitarist comes out with when we first try a new song

Hi Gareth. I think most MB owners will understand completely. Its all very well having loads of knobs and sliders but if the basic character of the head doesn't suit i dont think you can ever get around that. Knowing that the LMIII worked for you before should be a good indication that it will again. In may case i was tempted away, not so much because i wasn't happy, i just thought the grass might be greener on the other side and of course this time it wasn't. I've felt a bit awkward expressing my feelings in the GB thread's, due to the fact that i didnt want to upset anyone (you know what those Americans are like), and especially not Aged Horse (i think that was his user name) but no, i dont think its a great head unless you are after a specific tone and dont expect much more from it. They all seem to be using almost the same cabs as well. I really thought the Streamliner was a one trick pony whereas ive always felt my MB heads could cope with most tones ive needed. There, ive said it, bring it on lol. Even though my 1212L is light i dont like carrying it too much. Its ok i guess, and i can carry it using just one hand so for that it works well. Not sure how i would get on with a longer cab, that might need two hands but really, this is just me being lazy. Compared to any of the other cabs/combo's the band use mine i s a please to carry (although still no else does ) and compared to my old 1210R the 1212L is like carrying a leads bag.

Thats what i did but it was only putting off the inevitable. You have outline all the reasons for getting rid of it, they are all valid reasons and you really dont need 3 heads. Stick to the plan, otherwise this will never end ;-) And you still haven't got that CV yet :-)

I just checked the spec's and the MB cab is wider (across the front) but not quite as deep or tall as my 1212L. Nothing in it really though, around 1". I just got the impression it was smaller from you pic as thats how i normally set my rig up and i seem to have a bit more room on top of the cab. Im interested to see what you think of it. After having just the one bad experience with a MB cab i must admit its put me off them a bit. You do realise that you might have to tape this rig down to the stage once you turn up lol. Ive played a few very smooth stages and found my lightweight rigs move a round a bit when the volume is loud, at least, until i got a Gramma pad.
