In the past ive used a small allen key inserted in the jack to stop it rotating whilst tightening it up with a spanner. £13 does seem a lot of money but i guess you're paying for the convenience of having a tool that does the job quickly.

I loved mine when i had it. I think i did about 15+ gigs with it. I didnt have any problems with the paintwork though. I did change the pup on mine due to the G string sounding a bit weak but i felt although the new pup was nice (a Nordy MM4.2) it lost some of its character. I got mine after owning a Sub for a few months. I thought it would be a nice upgrade and i wasnt disappointed. I think i prefer 2 EQ to 3 but i certainly didnt find the tone lacking. In fact it sounded warmer than i expected, which was good as we play quite a bit of Motown and i use a pick. I sold mine because i just couldn't get on 100% with the neck. I much prefer jazz sized necks. I fancy trying a SB14 next but thats something for next year maybe. Heres a pic of mine (still with the stock pup)

Good question. Ive been wondering the same just recently. Im tempted to get a 1 spot as ive heard good things about them but ill wait to see what others are suggested in this thread.

I dont have any problems hearing myself but i do use a Gramma pad as a lot of my gigs are on hollow stages. As the poll said a couple of feet i didnt vote.

I would also add that i have been to a lot of corporate functions over the years and have never seen any originals bands at these events. Plenty of Tribute and covers bands though so i don't agree that tribute band are taking anything away from originals.

Ive only ever owned one SB bass. I only had it for two weeks but i put a black PG on it and really liked the way it looked.

The Venue seems to be doing ok and i believe its mostly tribute bands playing there. They seem to bill the gigs as if they were the originals, big posters etc.

The way i see being in a gigging band is this A good gig is like a good day at work. A bad gig is like a bad day at work. In life you take the rough with the smooth. Get over the bad one and look forward to the next, hopefully good one.

Anyone notice the adds at the bottom of this page are for tribute bands. Ain't the web wonderful. EDIT: and now they have gone. Oh well.

Its strange but my Wizards are back to front as well All the other pups ive had have been black to ground but not the Wizards. Glad you got it sorted.
