1.
Hi A fellow Ken Smith player was raving about the Brace Audio DWG 1000, he said no problems leaving the building, sound etc...
How could he hear himself if he left the building :-)
 2. Cheers Gareth. They are supposed to be sending it out tomorrow, I just hope they dont find any issues with it. I still like the sunburst but i think the black with the black PG will look great. During my paranoid state i was looking at Fenders website. There are pics of all the colour combinations for the MIA Jazz. All but one had the pups in the correct place. The White/rosewood seems to have the neck pup in the same position as mine. Very strange. Maybe its just the angle the pic was taken.
 3. Just a quick update. The retailer has today received the bass back and have got in touch to make sure im happy with a Black/maple replacement. They are checking the replacment out before sending it tomorrow. So far they haven't mentioned the original ones issues or questioned it. Fingers crossed the new one will be the final one.
 4. I thought the Bass head was a copy of a Ampeg. Isnt it the same as the one in the SVX? I do agree, us bass players do get a bit left out when it comes to amp sims but i think that reflects the real world. While there are many different bass head manufacturers i still see just a hand full being used live. And you yourself have just asked for the SVX stuff, all based on one company. It would be nice to get the same as Amplitube 3 has. I really like the Trace head and tend to use the GK sim most of the time at home.
 5.
£100 pick up or delivered or £10 extra to post....will post with the original fender box that it came in..
Pick up from where? It would help if you put your location in your profile. Cheers.
 6. Yeah, i would say you loose about a 3rd off the shop price. They sell for £899 at the moment so around £600+ would be about right.
 7. Ive always fancied a 1215L, another option. They also do more conventional front facing cabs but ive never tired one.
 8.
there's a surprising amount of low-end in there for such a small cab
Definitly. Ive done over 200 gigs in total with my Schroeder cabs and Markbass heads and ive never not had enough grunt to get me out in to quite big rooms. Low end seems to be more prominent 20ft+ away from the cab IME, and thats where its needed. Close up they are quite middy but thats a good thing as it helps you hear yourself. They do definitely lack extended low end though. I was shocked at how much they were lacking when i got to use a 410 last year. Still, if you want small and loud they do the job.
 9.
Need some double speed advice please folks, pleeeeeaaase! would a Schroder 1212L or an Epifani 410UL give me that warmth that I had with the Agi's but with a bit more mids bite? Please help!!
I would say no to the 1212L and i have no idea about the 410UL. I would say that the 1212L will give more mids, and certainly cut through a loud mix but i wouldn't call it warm. I find mine can produce enough low end to annoy people at gigs but its not a smooth and buttery low end, more like a thickening of low mids. Does the job though and out in the room its pretty smooth overall. I would say the bigger cab will get you a bigger low end. Saying that, i had a UL212 that lacked fullness and punch, and replaced it with a 1212L thats smaller but that really did make a big difference. Not sure what my point is there to be honest.
 10.
This sort of interference was common with analogue systems, however the Line 6 uses A/D and D/A conversion, and transmits the data digitally in a fashion not dissimilar to a mobile phone, although much higher quality. The "channels" on the Line 6 unit aren't real channels, in the sense that they don't change the broadcast frequency, what the "channel" switch changes is simply the address of the data, as only receivers tuned to that data address will decode the broadcasted signal.
Ah right. I thought maybe it was different to the ones I use.
 11.
There is a comparison thread somewhere,
Yes, that was Linus27's thread, do you remember it Gareth? Ive not played a 2EQ Ray but did have a Sub for a while and i did prefer the tone over my Ray34 (so neither a real SR4). Saying that, there really didn't seem to be much in it to my ears but the Sub did seem a bit thicker in the low end.
 12.
There shouldn't be any interference from other devices, as the receiver can only pick up signals from the transmitter it's locked to. You don't get Bluetooth interference in a room full of Bluetooth devices do you? Same principle applies. A
Not true unless you are talking about the Line6 specifically and it does this. If so then ignore my post. At last Sats gig we had the DJ's mic coming through our singers guitar amp as both were transmitting on the same freq. In the past ive also had my bass being picked up by the video crew's radio system. This is one reason i use a multi freq AKG system now. Its only been a handful of gigs that we have had any trouble as we dont normally play with out bands/DJs but you can certainly pick up other devices transmitting on the same freq.
 13. Ive had my SA450 for 4 years now, gigged it almost every week and so far ive not had a single problem with it. Same goes for my LMII although its probably only had about 50 gigs.
 14. Another vote for a Schroeder 1212L cab. It would be a good choice IME. Although its a 2x12 the second driver is at a angle inside and slightly behind the front facing driver so the cab isnt that big. They are rated at taking around 800watts so pretty robust.
 15.
Be REALLY interested in this comparison. Hope you get round to it soon!
I will definitely do it but cant promise it will be any time soon. I really like the MIA pups and im going through some QC issues with the bass at the moment so i need to get that all sorted out first. What i could do is take the Wizards out of my Squier once i get the MIA sorted out and if anyone wanted to try them out i guess i could live without them for a month or so. I expect ill be putting the Squier in for a de fret hopefully by the end of the month (more likely next month) so before it goes ill take the Wizards out.
 16.
Have you thought about a soft case? Im gonna be ordering one of these for my new jazz: http://www.dv247.com/cases/skb-1-skb-sc44-...oft-case--42261 Only a tenner more and seem to offer a lot more protection.
Ive just ordered the Gator version of this. I prefer a single shoulder strap to the rucksack type straps the SKB one has. Shame mine was dearer. It should be here by the end of the week so ill get some pics up if anyone is interested.
 17.
Plus black with maple looks waaaay cooler than sunburst. Especially with a black pickguard.
Yep, although ive seen it more in a P than i have a Jazz. The reason i sent my first MIA back was it was showing the wood seams. I thought that was a bit cheap looking, especially on the back of the bass. As the 3TSB didnt i went for that but i think ill be happy with either now, as long as the new one has less (none) issues. Its still a gamble and next time it might not just be cosmetic. Gareth. yes, ill get £60 back and can put that towards getting the Squier de fretted. If they do fix it thats fine, i love the bass so i wont be upset to get it back.
 18.
Its good that they are willing to sort it. If you arent happy, I reckon swap it for another. The shop wont lose out, only Fender will and its not like thats going to be an issue. I enquired about a Burst/Rosewood and the UK supplier is out of stock of Burst until September.....but at least you know youd be getting a brand new one.
They have a Black/maple on hold for me for when they get this one back. Im happy to have the Black (it was my first choice anyway) According to their website they wont get a SB/maple in until the end of the month. Im not waiting that long. For me the colour isnt a big deal. I'd even be happy with Red/maple.
 19.
This is crazy!! it looks well off in those pictures! Totally unacceptable at this level IMO I hope it gets sorted out properly and the shop look after you mate
Thanks Chris. The shop seem really cool about it so far. They have been great to deal with. My only worry is im going to be without it this weekend and i have two gigs. Just as well i have the Squier i guess.
 20.
Hope they don't mind you bodging it a bit yourself. I know of at least one shop that would see you've been adjusting it & making fresh holes as a cop-out to say you're stuck with it.
Not a problem as I told them I had tried to sort myself. I told them I had been able to move the pup but couldn't get the pickguard back on so I've put it back as it was.
 21. Sorry to hear that Gareth. Very frustrating. Let's hope you have better luck on the job scene.
 22. And gone. Cheers Dave, good luck with it and thanks again. It was nice to meet you.
 23.
Are the front and rear jazz pickups made to different sizes? ( I know they are wound differently) if they dont, there must be a small difference because of the angle of the strings.
Im not sure if all Jazz basses are but certainly the ones ive had have had a slightly shorter neck pup. I can understand and accept a slight bit of offset between the strings and pole pieces, its to be expected, but the pups should still be in the right place to start with to keep this down to a minimum.
 24.
More likely it's the vibration though the stage floor. Ive had the same issue myself. Get an Auralex Gramma Pad. Proplem Solved... And it tightened the bottom end sound up loads as well! Best £40 I ever spent!
Same here. We play loads of hollow stages and getting one of these has been a god send.
