However i find polytune to be a much better tuner so im using that anyway
While i prefer istrobosoft im happy to use Polytune for now. I just prefer the bigger display with istrobosoft, cant say its any more acurate. Then again, ive gone three gigs now without having to tune up so its not something i really depend on. It just looks flash at gig ;-)
 2.
I wont be using it then i dont think. I refuse to pay such a price for something that is probably really quite simple, and im especially reluctant since i purchased the istrobosoft cable.
Yeah, i have that cable as well. Actually i found a couple of my Nokia cables work ok with the istrobosoft but they didn't look very elegant so i forked out for the peterson one. I dont regret it and if the Irg one works with both then ill probably flog the peterson one, so that might help soften the blow a bit. The istrobosoft cable does work but there doesn't seem to be any way to get the audio out. Im sure cheaper versions of the irig adaptor will surface on ebay etc. Considering the cost of the app, i dont think its too expensive all in. By the way, have you upgraded to iOS4 yet? Ive found istrobosoft doesn't work properly under iOS4. It will tune but the strobe feature doesn't work.
 3.
Just downloaded it, am i right in thinkng that apart from the tuner and metronome, this is useless without the £20 odd quid adapter?!
As far as i know yes. If your good with wires you can probably knock something up but i couldn't be bothered (and not that great).
 4. Well, ive just ordered the adaptor (Irig) from Soundslive, they say they are expecting thme in on the 28th so hopefully i should get it this week. Im away with the band all next weekend so hopefully i can use this. A question to IK Multimedia. I've purchased the Bass amp, how can i make it the default amp? at the moment the app is opening with the Lead amp selected. Cheers.
 5. Wow, who would have thought my old bass would go across the sea, then end up back here, close to where it started life. When i had it is was passive, i bet this sounds even better now its got the Audere in it.
 6.
Thanks for the offer Dave. I've got a guitar box already but I was thinking that might mean exorbitant postage charges. I had best check ith PO
No problem. We do have some mail sacks here as well. Might be better than a bin bag although i dont know how you would seal them up.
 7.
Hi, thanks for reply. The thing is I don't have a box shaped even vaguely like this when doubled over, so to post would require some elaborate Heath Robinson type ensemble of bubble wrap. I would rather wait a few days and see if there's anyone willing to meet/collect. If not, then I will go the post route and its yours. Cheers Clarky
Maybe a bit overkill but i have a guitar box lying at work you can have if it helps.
 8.
Yeah I saw the vids, they looked and sounded great and i'm well impressed with the RAY 35. Think i'd quite like the all black SB14 - it looks really classy and since I love a narrower neck (a la Jazz bass) I think I could get on with it quite well.
Same here. I just cant get on with a P neck and while i was prepared to work at the Ray34 neck im a lot happier with the CV Jazz now. I guess the SB14 is a bit of both, and yes, all black looks fantastic. My Ray34 is also the black one and its one of the classiest looking basses ive owned. Its very close to my old Lakland DJ5, i guess thats why i went for that colour.
 9.
Well I gave it a good 'hammering' at rehearsal tonight and I was supremely impressed. Although not playing through my own rig I was running an EBS 350 head into an Ampeg stack and even with the amp EQ flat the sound was incredible. That snarly growl that you get from a Stingray was ever present and all tone controls acted just the way they should. I'm actually so pleased at the moment that i'm gonna get either a RAY 34 or an SB14 in the coming months so that I have a 4 and 5 string. For now its defo relegated me CV Jazz as my main gigging bass. Hopefully get pics up soon. Its one of the all black ones and it really does look a million bucks!
Nice one. These basses are really nice and get the job done. I wish i had got the SB14 instead of my Ray34, only because of the smaller neck. Saying that, it does of course have a different tone to the Ray34. when i first came across these it was via Ed Friedland's video reviews. I was looking for a cheap SR4 at the time but i was more impressed with the tone from the SB14.
 10. I just wanted to pop in here and give a big thanks to Andy at Wizard. After emailing him on sunday night i got a reply on monday. He told me to send my 84's back and he would send me out a set of 74's (custom wound 84's) the same day. I just had to cover postage. True to his word the new pups arrived today and im much happier. They have a bit more growl and top end but still have that full, P like low end. I feel now i have a really good gigging bass for £320. If (ok, i guess its when) i sell it i expect ill take the wizards out to put in the replacement bass.
 11.
I fancy one of those..
Me to. Ive been using a Ray34 for the past couple of months as my main (and only) bass and while i love its tone (it does have a Nordy 4.2 in it now though) i would rather have a 5 string version. I must admit im struggling with the neck/string spacing so have gone on to a CV Jazz for now but a Ray35 is definitely on my list of things to get later this year and the only 5 string im after at the moment. £300 is a great price for a Ray35.
 12. Im also with music guard, been with them for about 5 years. so far ive not had to make a claim so i cant say how good they are but i do feel a bit safer. I used to have my gear insured under our house policy was was advised to take out specific insurance, especially if i was gigging. Other than serial numbers i also take photos of any distinguish marks, plus ive also been known to write my post code on the heel of the neck (the bit thats hidden of course) or if ive had to shim the neck i write it on the piece of card i use. Probably a bit over cautious but it makes me feel better.
 13. Damn, i wish i hadn't got my CV Jazz now. I dont like sunbursts but this bass is gorgeous. i would say good luck with the sale but it will be a shame to see it sold. I dont suppose you fancy a trade. Ive got two kids i could let you have. Both house trained.
 14.
pluseth the one-eth. I always left it flat and used the filters for tone. Dead handy.
Me to. I first got a SA450 for the extra EQ options. While they have come in handy i tend to run the head flat most of the time and just tweak the two filters. Same with my LMII. I guess these amps seem to work really well with Schroeder cabs so im lucky.
 15.
Why did they have to make the Jazz too, now I have to make room for 2 basses.
It looks lovely doesn't it.
 16. Cheers Gareth. I did not want to see that Jazz though ;-) So i guess that puts paid to the UK only rumours as well.
 17. You would think maybe the Venue would have warned you if its happened before. Bad news and good luck in getting it back. Was it insured?
 18. Cheers Gary. The gig went well. After a run of weddings it was actually nice to play a social club :-0. And because my drummer hates playing these clubs he tends to play a lot straighter (ie, doesnt make an effort), which means we sound much better. The CVJ sounded better tonight. I think i would be happy to keep these pups if i have to, but i have emailed Andy to see if we can work something out. If its too much hassle (or money) then ill keep them in for now. These pups certainly do get closer to a P than any other Jazz pups ive tried (not that many though) but it would be nice to have a bit more sparkle.
 19.
Ive promised myself that this is it for at least a year.
20.
The 'other' 12" is on an angled baffle off to the side of the driver that you 'can' see!
Well that's what i was going to say but (and i guess im wrong) the way it was worded made it sound like he knew what a Schroeder 1212 was, as in he didnt put the more generic 2x12 term. Unless he was talking about my pic, in that case he's right as its a 1210 but then i didnt say it was a 1212.

 22.
Hi Err am i going mad the pic is not a 1212 ??
How so? What do you think it is?
 23. Hi All. Ive just done my first gig with the 84's in and they sound good but i dont think ill be keeping them in. I feel they lack brightness. As i said above, i feel ive lost some top end and while i dont like a tone thats too bright, i can tell these are just not right for me. No sparkle (or not enough for me anyway). Im used to hearing a lot of overtones when i put new strings on, even XL's, and while i really like the tone of very new strings, but this new set ive got on already sound gigged if that makes sense. Its not the strings as they sound as they should acoustically. Overall its a good, solid tone but i think i prefer the slightly more scooped Squier pups. If i wasn't so lazy i think i would put the Squier pups back in for tonight's gig and see how much difference there is. But i am too lazy and really do want to give these a chance. Does anyone know if Andy would be willing to re wind these for me (at a cost of course)? Ill email him on monday to see what he says, dont want to bother him over the weekend.
 24. The price seems good. Am i right in assuming that each knob has volume and tone for each pup?
 25.
well its exaclty a mix of the aerodyne and the jag, its just as much one as it is the other,,,,,,,,,,,except the jag and aerodyne dont have that nasty [s]rash[/s] squire decal on the headstock
The Squier name is not a problem for me. Ive sold my Laklands and USA Fender and now gig with a Squier. No shame in having a bass that looks good, sounds good and plays good. In a previous post i said how much i loved blocks. Cant see them on the Aerodyne. I also dont like basses with no pick guard. I know the Jap Aerodyne has one but its not in the same price range (i hope). Like i said, its not perfect but its closer than the Aerodyne.
