  1. Cheers, I’ll give it a listen.
  2. Id have loved to had seen them back in the day. I only know of the Sentinel, but i played it constantly when i had it on tape. Think im due another listen (digital obviously). Loved Magnum as well, and do still listen to their stuff occasionally.
  3. Yeah, i could see quite healthy signals in all the mic channels, even when no one was singing. Ive recently started to tun off two of the backing vocal channels so they only go to the monitors. We dont need these mics live for the whole gig, and they are hardly used. No one will miss the odd word here and there, but it does keep the FOH a bit cleaner. Of course i haven’t told the relevant singers 😇
  4. At our NYE gig, when soudchecking, I was out front and got what I thought was a nice balanced mix. Drums and backline providing FOH as it was quite a small room. Vocals nicely balanced with them. Then I noticed the PA main faders were down/off. I dont set the monitors up as I use IEM's so I leave it to the others. The two stage monitors were so loud that the vocals could be heard right across the room. Crazy!!!.
  5. I've got one of the 'original' CV Jazz basses. IIR it came out in 2006 or around about that time. I gigged it for a good 2-3 years when I first got it. Its outlasted a few Fender/Lakland jazz basses. The neck itself has been on quite a few P basses ive had in that time as well. one of the nicest necks ive ever played. I have replaced the PUPs and bridge, but the rest of it needs no replacing. Never gone out of tune when playing. It's a bass not worth much but not one id ever part with.
  6. That's a cool synth. Over Christ I treated myself to the Korg Triton/Triton Extreme VST. Ive never really paid any attention to the Triton range before, but ive been knocked out with how it sounds. Its replaced a lot of my JP8/OBx sounds. I know its sounds very 90's, but it sound nice and thick. I almost got the M1 YST first, but after trying this, I had to have it.
  7. We have decided to give Rush Hour by Jane Wiedlin a go. No matter how many time is listen to it I can't get 'Tarrant in the Rush hour" out of my head.
  8. I was looking at those. What put me off, or rather sold me more on the Gravity’s, was the metal joints where the wheels are. I’ve replaced so many over the years when they have cracked. Hopefully these will last much longer.
  9. We can get 2 mic stands in that bag as well. We've had those thin bags in the past and they have never lasted long. After the gig one of my guitarists took it out to the car, only to then walk back with. He had forgotten to put the stands in it, thinking someone else had. It was quite funny watching him open the bag to find they were in there.
  10. If my lot can find another keyboard player who also owns the PA and has the contacts for gigs, knows how all the songs go and can put up with imbeciles then yeah, I can be replaced. 😇
  11. Thanks but no, i don’t want another browser. Its not something do everyday, but i do prefer Safari on my phone.
  12. Ive never really got on with those sort of apps. Seems like a lot of wasted space on screen. Saying that, its been a few years so ill have a look. Cheers.
  13. Thanks Ped. I remember we had a discussion year ago where it was the other way around, where mobile wasnt as popular. Yeah, it’s the holding space bar down, and even trying to click at the end of a post that i cant get working. Curser jumps around but never to where it needs to be. Posting is fine, its really just trying to edit afterwards.
  14. I can’t count how many times ive had to abandon trying to edit a post on my iphone 15 pro and go to a computer or ipad. No way to get the typing curser anywhere close to where i need it to be. Not every time, so for those that say ‘i have no issue’, sometimes i dont either, but most of the time i do. Im using Safari which is of course built in to iOS. I know iOS isnt a priority, but even so….. Really, really frustrating and very poor user experience.
  15. Good gig at a retirement village tonight in Bedford. Not sure what time we will get home though.
  16. Thankfully arrived just in time for tonight’s gig. So much lighter than the old ones, and the bag is really well padded.
  17. Wow, this has just reminded me I have one I those. I think ive only used it once and put it away. Got it just after lockdown but after the first gig with it i couldn't be bothered using it anymore lol.
  18. Yeah, ive had a few bits from them over the years.
  19. Cheers guys. I remember years ago we have silver aluminium ones that were gas assisted. Really light and a pleasure to set up and take down. I have been doing some research and went ahead and ordered the Gravity ones (non gas assisted). They seem like they will work fine, i like the bag, and got them for £110 delivered. Another reason for ordering so quick, is that ours are in a car stuck in a garage the other side of town. It was easier to order a new pair now for delivery tomorrow rather than go and get ours.
  20. One of our old speaker stands is starting to fall apart, so it’s time to replace both. They are quite heavy as well. I quite fancy the Gravity GSP5211B, which looks ideal, but im wondering what you guys use in this (sub £150) area. Also looked at the QUIKLOK S171PAK. A bit cheaper but the Gravity has more metal on it where it counts apparently. Just small pub/club gigs so we don’t need anything too professional. Cheers. Happy new year.
  21. Why dont they know them? Asking for a friend 😎
  22. We have our first NYE gig for ages this month. On the one hand I’m really looking forward to the money and it’s going to be an easy gig (another Retirement village), but because of where me and the singer live (my wife) we can’t get home in the car. We live right in the centre on London and just inside the restricted zone for the fireworks. Will be a long night.
  23. This is interesting as I have the H4 Essentials and I can put it clipped to the drum kit and get a clean recording (once it's in my DAW). I think the mic's are rated a bit higher than the H1 as far as levels go, but ive been really impressed with how clean it can record. I also use it to send a feed to our desk for my IEM's. At rehearsals I just put it on a chair in the room facing the PA and get decent recordings. Never had any distortion. It takes one button to start recording and the same button to stop. Neve need to touch the menus. Much easier than the older H4n Pro. I had the H4n Pro pro while and liked it, but the Essential is cleaner (I read about the Pro's clipping at low recording levels, and heard it for myself).
  24. Or even allowed to 😎
  25. Loved the first film but I can't imagine this will be much. I listened to an interview with Derek Smalls (Shearer stayed in character the whole time) on the Rockonteurs recently. I didnt laugh once which was disappointing.
