The company I work for makes pull up banners (and other types of soft signs), but ive never wanted to get one for my band. I think they look a bit too business like, as if you are at a trade show or event. We had to make a few up for a TV company recently and they wanted them made of cardboard. Very strange looking things.

This isnt always the case though. I remember many negative posts about staff in the shops in Denmark street years ago, especially one particularly shop. I guess its down to the person rather than the company though.

I rarely buy from shops these days, but the one time recently I made a decent sized purchase was for a RAB jacket from Cotswolds. This cost me £260. Within 6 weeks one of the seams has split, and when I took it back they said they have to send it off to RAB, first to get checked that I hadn't caused it, and then to see if it can be repaired. I felt this was unacceptable although couldn't do anything about it. It was a winter coat and I spent a good 5 weeks without it during the winter.

Give it a few days and they will have a returned one for sale 😏.

Yeah, i was really just going by the stock presets, and the BDDI on its own (which has a presence knob). I’m pretty sure it can be improved. Cheers.

I must admit to being so taken with this, especially after not using my original one or B1-four in a band context. I do feel its missing a bit of top end sparkle, and that might explain why to my ears it had less hiss, but I know through a rig that wouldn't be an issue. it definitely sounded warmer than the B2-four.

I spent about 30mins tonight playing with the Zoom. I must admit it’s been the most instantly enjoyable pedal ive had recently. This could also be down to me getting my Jazz bass out for the first time in about 10 years, but as i was going through the presets i didn’t find any (well, maybe a couple of synth ones) that i thought could never be used. I like that the editing screen doesn't have a time limit (as far as i could tell), and it’s as easy to set up as the B2-Four is. Both (for me) easier than my B1-four. It also seemd to have less hiss compared to the B2-four, BUT, this was using the mono jack out in to an interface and in to my ipad. When i had the B2-four(s) i only ever used the USB out, so i wonder if its a bit brighter than the jack out. There was still tonnes of noise when going through the OD’s etc, so it’s nowhere near dead quiet. Thats not something id want to do at a gig or rehearsal. Choruses also sounded more usable, but again, different outputs and different basses. I like the fact that the amps have a cab blend, which the B2-four doesnt, but i felt all the amps sounded at their best with the cabs on 100%, so i cant seem using the blend knob much. Im not really interested in using the amps anyway, but they do seem pretty solid. I tried the foot control and it was surprisingly accurate and easy to do. All in all, really pleased with it, but im thinking of sending it back as i need the money for something else this month, and don’t have a gig for about 6 weeks. Id rather get it again in a few weeks so i can use it at a rehearsal though an amp, with the option of sending it back if i don’t get on with it.

Mine arrived this morning. it came in huge box, people at work thought I had ordered another pair of trainers. I was surprised to find that BAX has a warehouse over here. Good service so far and faster than Thomanns.

The BDDI sims ive tried have been more noisy than the real thing. The best was the one in the B2-four. More than passable, it had a bit more body to it over the B1-Four (not used my old MS60 for years so cant comment), but a pain to tweak live (not that i intend to do a lot of that, just harder to get to the knobs). The BDDI cost just over £100 more so yeah, quids in. If the B2-four had been a bit more compact and ran off batteries id have kept it (them). All my practice is with headphones at home, so i guess i can hear things that i wouldn’t necessarily hear with a band.

I do that as well. Along with the vocal mics I find I get enough in my IEM's that I don't need a separate ambient mic any more. My two guitarists are at opposite sides of the stage, and both have mics, so I get a nice close mic'ed spread (stereo IEMS). Most of my 'ambient' comes from the drummers mic though so I have him in the middle.

im still interested in getting this. I sent the 2 B2-fours back as I felt they were overkill, and I really wanted something that runs off batteries. Got a Paradriver and sent that back, and at the moment ive gone back to a BDDI, but can help feel it's over priced for what it is.

I think EBS_freak might know how to get around this issue. Not sure if there is any easy way though….. 😂👍🏻

Wouldn’t you need to run these to an input as well? These are meant for phones which have a Bi directional port i believe. I guess you could split the cable.

I sort of did,.as i mentioned i have my gig and rehearsal recordings on Apple Music and can listen on all my Apple devices. I too love how Logic can export directly to AM and then upload to the cloud. I normaly brak the long ones down in to two half’s but also export one long one for Drop box for the others.

Thats the thing, you can share Spotify much easier than Apple. I only have it because my wife pays for it and can share it out, and she only pays for it so our son can use it. We both have AM and find its a lot better for us (we also have Airpod Pro’s so get the full benefit). Also lossless does sound noticeably better through my Mac and Apple TV compared to Spotify. I believe that is coming but at a premium.

I keep a USB-C to Ethernet adapter handy, just in case. Not needed it in about 20 gigs so far........

Point taken about wifi, but you dont have to use that (at least not with the XR18 that i have) we are pretty much set and forget, we dont have anyone out front, so i have my iPad on my keyboard just so i can adjust my IEM without moving away once we start playing. It is nice to be able to walk around a room when sound checking though. Much easier than having to relay instructions back to the stage.

These days it makes sense to get a mixer that can be used with a remote device (IMO). I also nearly got an L12 but felt the XR18 was going to be more of an upgrade for us, especially going forward with IEM’s.

I have both but only use Spotify occasionally if someone sends me a play list. I don’t really like the AM interface, i find it awkward to use, but it just seems more convenient as it works on all my devices without extra effort. I also like that it can put our rehearsal and gig recordings in it and have them play back from the music apps.
