  1. Well a few weeks on and ive Harold used my DX. Since getting the MODX all my time has been spent with that. I do love the DX for sitting on the bed and working things out though. Only issue is I’m never going to use any of the ‘DX’ sounds. All ive used is a piano and Organ. I was thinking of trying to swap it for a CS now, as I’m using those sort of tones quite a bit on the MODX. Thought about swapping for a CP but I’m not really in to that sort of piano (i know there is a hidden acoustic one), and i love the tones of the YC, but I prefer something that can do both.
  2. Ive had a few cables off Dave in the past. Never had any issues at all, but i dont see them as anything that special. Ive rarely had issues with any cables, not even the real cheap ones off Amazon. Ive got cables from years ago that still work perfectly. Not saying they were as well put together, but if it works properly then job done. I mean no disrespect to him but he was using off the shelf parts i beleive, all be it high quality ones and with very neat soldering. Very good cables, but....well they are only cables at the end of the day. EDIT: Sorry, maybe the above was a bit harsh. I just think the cables were as good as any good cable ive had.
  3. Interesting choice of cover. I love that song.
  4. The shop probably didn’t realise either. Always worth looking very closely at used goods.
  5. Not been ‘had’ unless it was sold as stock or someone told you it hasn’t been modified.
  6. Yep, on two basses. Only issue i can see is if you have a different type of jack socket. Mine were fine (both P style basses) but just double check this before ordering.
  7. Ive been using 7dayshop for years, although not too often as i tend to get most things from Amazon. Very good rep though.
  8. Well there you you go then, your last point shows it can be handy to know, but my post was more a general one. Doing simple work on the electrics in a bass for example, changing pups etc. Over time the saving can add up.
  9. Its always handy to have soldering skills. Its not hard and can save a fortune.
  10. No, nothing like this. We, or at least I, am talking about music production, what the heck has German politics got to do with it? Thats a ridiculous argument. Might as well say using loads of reverb and chorus is the same as Hilter invading Europe. Get a grip.
  11. True, but as i said, it still did the job. Im not sticking up for the type of production, i haven't commented on it as such, just that it was very popular for a good few years. Now i realise those on here look down on what the general public like, as 'we' know better (a room full of people dancing cant be a good thing can it lol), but when you produce something that the masses like, i dont think its hard to say you got it right, even if others dont like it. That is the only point i have to make.
  12. The production did its job, so it cant be crap 🤔 😂
  13. Seeing as ive just brought two keyboards stacked full of 80’s sounds I NEED a band that plays them lol. I love 80’s music, but not really the pop/solo artist stuff with the backing tracks. TOTP stuff. There was so much more to the 80’s than the New Romantic movement and SAW stuff. And of course we had the NWOBHM.
  14. And where would you get the metrics from? How would you know 2mm/2.5mm etc is ideal without feeling it?
  15. Yes, the government have said no live music yet in pubs for this reason.
  16. Thats how i will feel after the first one.....then back to hating it lol.
  17. Ironically we had a pub gig booked for the 4th. Not going to happen obviously, and certainly not without a rehearsal.
  18. Got an email from ours that they are opening on 4th July. Might get a room as soon as i can get everyone together. The rooms are big enough, and each has its own door way from the yard, so we wouldn’t need to go through any buildings (all booked and paid for on line).
  19. There are more features coming in then V3 update that will make it even better. I thought I’d miss the headphones with the HFX but it works fine, although not as convenient. I cant think of anything better for recording at this price point with these features. Good luck with the album. Wish I could motivate my lot to do something, anything, collaborative.
  20. Yeah, on a board is perfect. I was trying to get away from using one so ended up using mine just on the floor. My HFX was great for this, but I couldn’t justify keeping both and the Stomp is more an all round box for me.
  21. Nice one. My only issue the Stomp for live use is its size, it’s easy to kick by mistake. Also when using external foot switches it’s hard to see if they are on. Minor issues really.
  22. No reason at all not to use the HFX. It has a few preamps and like you say, you can use IR’s or EQ. There are a few cab sim EQ settings on the Dr Tone Lab website showing its possible.
  23. No, the B3n doesnt cost anywhere near that. Looking at new prices i guess the two are pretty close. I thought it was a bit cheaper than it is now though. Agree, the B3n doesn’t have XLR, (the older B3 did) but not everyone needs or uses it, and it can still be hooked up to a PA or whatever.
