  1. This, and The Young Person's Guide to Becoming a Rock Star was when i first became away of Guy. I still have both albums on my phone.
  2. New video posted today. Still not showing any bass stuff.
  3. Always been a fan of Guy’s. Very good feel to his playing. I started following him on FB recently and been waiting for todays YT video. Also a fan of the Jimmy Nail Album so this is a great first vid. Might just have been me but his ‘bass face’ Reminded me of Tim Starace (YYNot).
  4. Cheers guys. I’m finding it hard to have any GAS while in lockdown. With no band or gigs in the immediate future ive sort of lost interest in gear as such. Once things start to get back to normal this is top of the list of things to try.
  5. Ok, this is really pushing me in the right direction now. Am i right in thinking the pedal doesn’t have amp sims as such, and that the presets In the manual are just EQ variations to simulate the named rig?
  6. I really dont know why people knock Bob. He did an amazing job re launching the careers of many washed up bands/pop stars, and the whole time suffered a huge lack of (any) talent. Give the bloke a break 😀
  7. True, but he has a point. At least for me. Give me someone keeping a tight groove going anytime over all that show off stuff that seems to only be there to prove a point. They can all do it of course, but its knowing when to do it, and when not to do the ‘look how many notes I can play slightly out of time with the song using moire notes than my bass actuator has’ bass lines. That noise Jaco made with his bass is one of the most annoying bass tones ive ever heard. Cant listen to him for more than....just cant listen to him at all actually. Obviously just my opinion of course.
  8. Yeah i get that. BB is a house hold, celeb name, so it’s obvious people will be familiar with his work. Not knocking BB but ts not a fair compassion. Then again, BB does what he does and its got him where he is. To be fair, i don’t really care Victor Wooten’s style or playing either.
  9. I agree about the BB king bit. I also thought ‘hmmmm’. Not a fair comparison, and although I understood the point, I didn’t think it was put as well as it could have been. To be fair though, off the top of my head i cant name one track Alan Holdworth plays on (although i know I’m aware of them). I know the name, but never really been interested in him.
  10. At least you wouldn’t need to worry about any close social interaction 😂
  11. Cool. I’m in no doubt that even if i used the same tones as Tim I’d never sound like him. Need to hear some cleaner tone videos before my interest is raised. So far ive not heard anything i probably couldn’t get with the gear i have, although i love the form factor of this.
  12. Just thought I’d reanimate this thread. Although i dont really have GAS for this right now, i love the tone in this video. There are a few that Tim has done on YT, but as much as i like what i hear those tones wouldn’t really work for me.
  13. I personally have not used any of the free ones. I find they look quite intimidating compared to the paid for ones. This is just my limited experience though. On my PC i have Sonar and Adobe Auditon, which i know well enough, but last year I brought a cheap Zoom R8 recorder. Its more like a digital Portastudio. This does me for messing about at home, and has a built in drum machine/amp sims etc.
  14. Well you probably now have the time to change that 😉
  15. My first thought would be to try the Stomp using its own PSU. If you get the Stomp working fine then you could add back in the others one at a time, using the Cioks for the others to see when the noise starts. Could also just be your wiring at home etc.
  16. Collection only is hassle free, and thats what some of us want. Having the extra bit on the end can make a hassle free sale more complicated, and some chose not to want that extra responsibility. Buyer arranges that bit is a half way measure. Seller gets the hassle free part, buyer pays the same anyway, and also has the option of paying a bit less if they want to skimp on a decent courier or thinks the seller is making a bit on top etc. Everyone still wins. What’s not to get?
  17. How would you know what to change so it keeps the same character, but changes the low or highs? I doubt its as simple as turning one knob for each. Dont get me wrong, i like the tone, been using it for a while in my Stomp as a starting block, but my point is its not really a substitute for the real thing. Its like his BDDI EQ patch vs the BDDI sim that came later. The first is a sample of what it i can sound like, but the second is the real deal (more or less).
  18. Works 100% both ways though IME. You still have to work with the buyer being in and not chopping and changing.
  19. Well its still going to sound like your Sadowsky no matter what you put it through 😉 The thing with this patch is, if I’m correct, its just emulating one setting, so hardly a replacement for the real thing unless you only use this one setting all the time.
  20. Ive got that, and my son has the G1on. Ether can be used for either instrument. The B1 will have Bass amps, the G1 guitar amps. For home playing i don’t think either are really important, they are just fancy EQ’s anyway. Personally I’d get one of the newer B1-Four or G1-Four versions, and it sounds like the version with the expression pedal built in might be the way to go.
  21. In that case I’d look here as well
  22. I love Marks way of teaching. Out off all the Free online tutors ive seen Mark is always the one that gets through to me and i come away feeling ive learnt something. Maybe its just the level I’m at and attention span i have. Maybe one day ill sign up to his paid courses.....when i have time 😂
