1.
Where about in West Sussex?
Where are you in Sussex ?
2. Ive seen another amp here on BC that I gassing for so my 2 month old / boxed / never gigged Tech 21 VT500 amp is up for sale.
3. Wow,, that's what I call an amp.
4. None in my acoustic covers band.
5. It MIGHT not give such deep bass due to the decoupling of the cabinet and floor?
6. Thanks for the great review. I would really like to put this up against my Eden 1x12 cab. Got a good feeling for GAS.
7.
About a month. It's the rear panel piece. The edges have all lifted. I've had it for a few months now but I can't be arsed to complain and at the mo it's the only cab I have so I can't spend the time sending it back.
This is really poor. Surely this should not happen and only after one month.
8. I used the line 6 with two acoustic guitars and it was perfect. It did have a very heavy sound that gave the impression you were playing through a bigger rig. I always regret selling it as they are rare second hand and can be picked up for about £90.
9. This sounds very much like what I'm getting from a Fender P with flats and foam under the strings going through boss CS3 compressor and a VT500 amp played with a pick. You could try a Tech 21 VT bass DI pedal ?
10. Mail order customers have 14 days (according to the EU Distance Selling Regulations) in which to cancel an order without having to state a reason. I think they have another 14 days to return the goods (but don't quote me). The customer has to pay the cost of return carriage if it's in the seller's terms and conditions, but the seller *cannot charge a restocking fee or administration charge*. I work in the retail business and this is quite correct.

Bassics BPA-1

http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Bassics.html Bass Direct has one. Has anyone tried this Pre yet ?
12. Have you tried the Tech 21 VT500. It can go from a very valve like tone to a fairly clean but coloured sound. I also became fed up with the ultra transparent tone and found going simple and stripped down with just a passive P bass and the VT500 for colour. Just add a cab and you have a simple bass sound that punches.
13. Pictures of the bass when I owned it. The covers are solid and look fantastic. The sound from the Haussel vintage single coils are wonderful. Hope this helps.
14. I'm in Sandhurst. You are welcome to come over and I will help you set it up.
15. I've used The Chord Company Cream cables for the past 7 years. Highly recommended for sound and build quality without the crazy boutique prices. http://www.chord.co.uk/mobile/product.php?product=chord-cream-guitar-and-bass-cable
16. I'm always surprised by how loud a valve amp can be. I regularly gigged with a folk group with a 50 watt valve amp. It ran at about 80% full output into a modern efficient 1x15 cab and sounded wonderful.
17.
I put a fender Custom Shop 62 in my Tokai and it sounds great. Very responsive and good balance of volume across all strings. Growls if you push it but stays punchy if you don't. Works very well with a bit of drive or gain from the preamp.
Another vote for the Fender Custom Shop here.
