1. Some of my favourites... BBE optostomp.. cheap and works. EBS.. easy to use and warm sound. TRACE ELLIOT.. classic 80s sound. KEELEY BASSIST.. my favourite to date. CALI.. full control of all settings.
2.
I lower the bridge till it just starts to buzz. If the buzzing is at the bridge end, tighten the truss rod If its at the nut end, loosen. If its evenly spread, job done. Then raise the bridge again to lose the buzz.
My too.
3. I've had two truss rods go faulty. One on a new shuker that was faulty from new. I can forgive that one because the maker would not of known of the fault until it was adjusted in a set up. The next was on a very old and battered fender P that had very high action. I got it home and fitted new strings, went to adjust the TR and bang, it snapped and the neck shot across the room in three bits. The seller refused to give a refund accusing me of damaging it to obtain a refund. Good job it was only £100. I sold the body and hardware and got my money back.
4. I think the Jake is 42mm as my Elwood is 40mm and slightly thinner than the Jake.
5. I have the same problem on the Surrey / Berkshire border. All soft rock or metal pub cover bands. Not a creative bone in their bodies. There are no original material bands around, just the same old pub rock drivel.
6. My Elwood came with Maruszczyk jazz pickups as standard. I found them to be good for the price and on par with Delano single coils. The biggest improvement was changing to Haussel. The bass came alive and sounds like a true high end instrument.
7. I agree 👍. I have Chromes on my jazz. Gives a mellow sound to counter the bright single coil pickups.
8. I totally agree cables make a big difference to your sound. I use The Chord Company Cream cables that are designed by a bass player and made in Salisbury.
9. Where are you based. I would like to check out the bass. Thanks.
10. I'm based in Sandhurst. How often do you gig and can I have a sample of the set list. Please Pm me. Thanks.
11. You are so unlucky. I feel your pain. Go have that brandy.
12. Thanks for all the answers but I now have the correct answer. The manual is wrong in saying it is a preamp clip light as it is a clip light for the power amp section. It lights when power section starts to clip ( distort). Clear as mud. 😉
13.
From the manual - When the Clip light turns red it indicates that the preamp is being driven into clipping. Clipping can be a desirable characteristic, depending on your taste. If you would like a cleaner sound you can experiment with the input pad, Gain, Drive, and Tone Controls. All of these things, including the output level of your bass, affect how often the light will go off. Clipping the Tone Hammer 350 will not cause any shutdowns or damage to your amplifier. That should clarify it!!!
I agree, it should come on when the preamp is overdrive. BUT... A few people have said it is the power section????? If anyone has a 350 can you check with your amp. Thanks.
14. Guys, Can someone with a tone hammer 350 amp tell me if the clip light comes on when the preamp or power amp is overdriven as mine does not light up. I think it is supposed to light when the preamp starts to distort. Thanks.

16. I think the first one is the P and second is the Maruszczyk. or is it....
